Chapter 853 I Won't Die in Front of You

Francis had a self-mocking smile on his lips. "Don't worry, even if I were to die, it wouldn't be in front of you."

At the very last moment, the person he least wanted to see was this devil, Guadalupe!

Guadalupe stared at him with a dark expression for a long time, as if trying to bore a hole through Francis.

The veins on his neck bulged with rage as he turned and shouted at the maid, "Why are you still standing there? Go get the fever medicine!"

"Yes!" The maid, trembling with fear, quickly ran off to find the medicine.

Francis lowered his eyes, his pale face showing a hint of frailty. He didn't react to what was said, as if everything had nothing to do with him.

This silence was like adding fuel to Guadalupe's fire. His knuckles cracked from clenching his fists, but Francis looked so weak that even a gust of wind could knock him over, making it impossible to hit him. "I have urgent matters to attend to. Kurt will stay here. You better stay put in the villa today and go nowhere!"

From his expression, it was clear that even being sick wouldn't make Francis settle down!

Francis lifted his head, his deep eyes pierced by the sunlight. "At the company, the Valencia Villa, and now even at home, I have to be watched, don't I?"

Guadalupe remained silent.

He just wanted Kurt to stay and make sure he took his medicine, but all Francis could think of was surveillance.

"If you have the guts, die in this villa, and don't come looking for me!" Guadalupe roared furiously, striding away with steps that seemed to carry a burning wind.

Francis watched as he and Kurt left, finally letting down his guard and exhaling heavily.

At this moment, the maid came over with the fever medicine. "Mr. Valencia, the medicine."

"Okay." He turned his head calmly. "Pour me a glass of water, please."

The maid, feeling flattered, quickly placed the medicine on the table and turned to get the water.

Outside the villa, Guadalupe walked to the car with a dark aura. Kurt quickly stepped forward to open the car door. "Mr. Diaz, do you need me to stay and watch Mr. Valencia?"

Guadalupe paused, looking inside with a fierce gaze. "He likes being alone, so let him be alone!"

With that, he bent down and got into the car, exuding a sharp coldness.

On the second floor across the street, Antonio happened to be standing by the window, watching the scene with some confusion.

Sarah walked over, following his gaze outside but seeing nothing. "What's wrong?"

"It's just a bit strange. Guadalupe went out alone. Could it be that Francis isn't going to the company today?" He furrowed his brows even more. "Could something have happened?"

He had previously thought of getting Francis a car, but Guadalupe had said they were on the same route, so there was no need for the trouble. Thus, they went out together every day.

Sarah didn't think much of it. "If you're worried, why don't you go over and check?"

"Yeah, I'll go take a look," Antonio said, then stepped out of the room, just as Ryan came out of the adjacent room.

"Ryan, I'm going over to the other side. Do you want to come with me?"

Ryan paused, his eyes lighting up. "Are we going to see my dad? Sure!"

Antonio smiled and took his hand. "Let's go then."

The two of them went to the villa across the street. After ringing the doorbell, the maid came to open the door and sighed in relief when she saw them. "Mr. Antonio Valencia, please come in."

"Is Francis home?"

"Yes." The maid walked beside them, head lowered. "Mr. Francis Valencia has a fever."

Antonio and Ryan both frowned upon hearing this, quickening their pace. When they reached the living room, the pale-faced Francis had just finished taking his medicine.

He put down the glass and forced a smile. "You're here."

"Dad." Ryan let go of Antonio's hand, his young face full of concern. He ran over to Francis. "Dad, you were fine yesterday. How did you suddenly get a fever?"

"Yes, Francis." Antonio was also very worried. "Maybe you should go to the hospital?"

Francis continued to smile, his hand weakly held by Ryan. "No need for the hospital. This is an old problem for me."

"Have you been sick often before?"

"Not often." Francis's expression didn't change. "I never fully recovered after the car accident, and my constitution is weaker than most. Maybe I caught a bit of a chill while walking last night. It's okay, I've taken medicine, and I'll be fine once the fever goes down."

"But you can't stay here alone." Antonio walked over and pushed the wheelchair, then told Ryan, "Get your dad's blanket and cover his legs."

Ryan obediently ran to the sofa, and grabbed the navy blue blanket. "Dad, cover up."

His eyes were full of concern for Francis, and all his previous doubts and barriers had completely disappeared. "Dad, is there anything else you need? I'll get it for you."

Seeing how sensible he was, Francis's heart softened. "No, just come hold my hand."

"Okay."

Antonio felt extremely relieved seeing this scene.

Although he didn't know what Francis's intentions were, now that he was back safe and sound, what couldn't be resolved?

When Francis finally let down his guard, he would find a chance to have a good talk with him.

Back at the villa across the street, Sarah was busy with the maids, preparing to turn an empty room into a nursery.

Seeing them return, she tilted her head and greeted them. "Francis, if you're sick, go rest. I have two months left before giving birth, so I'm just keeping busy by helping them tidy up the room."

Francis shook his head, indicating she didn't need to worry about him. "Okay, Sarah, take care."

Antonio let her be and turned to Francis. "Do you want to rest in your old room? I'll help in the kitchen and make you some light soup."

"No need." Francis's gaze swept through the room, where everyone was busy, yet it felt like a warm home, something he hadn't felt in a long time. "Do whatever you need to do. I'll stay here and watch them tidy up the room. The baby isn't here yet, but as an elder, I should supervise the work."

Antonio didn't insist further.

Francis then said, "Ryan, go play by yourself. You don't need to stay with me."

"Okay." Ryan adjusted the blanket on his legs. "If you need anything, just call me. I'll be over there."

Seeing how considerate he was, Francis felt a warmth in his heart. "Thank you, Ryan."

Sarah glanced at them but didn't say anything, continuing to direct the maids.

Soon, a maid took out two boxes from a drawer. "Mrs. Valencia, do you still need these?"

"What are they?" Sarah didn't react immediately. When she took them, she remembered they were the hyperrealistic masks she and Antonio had used in Marshall City.

After returning, she had casually put them away and hadn't thought about them since. She didn't expect them to be in this drawer.

She opened them and looked, thinking they wouldn't be needed anymore. "Just throw these out separately..."

"Wait!" Before she could finish, Francis wheeled over, his eyes fixed on the hyperrealistic masks in her hand. "Sarah, what are these?"
