Chapter 669 Antonio Bursts into Tears of Joy

"Hey! There's another accident here! Come help!"

"We don't know his condition. We can't move him! Call an ambulance!"

Benjamin was in a coma, surrounded by bystanders.

"The ambulance just left for the hospital. The emergency center must be swamped."

"Still, we need to call and explain!"

"Where are the cops?"

No one knew how bad his injuries were, and no one dared to move him in case he had a broken bone.

While they waited, the clear sky turned dark.

Rain started pouring down suddenly.

The crowd scattered, called for an ambulance, covered Benjamin with a piece of clothing, and propped up an umbrella before leaving.

All they could do was hope the doctors would arrive soon.

Meanwhile, the rain got heavier, and the sky grew darker.

Time passed, and the main road was still blocked with no ambulance in sight.

Benjamin was soaked, but maybe the rain brought some clarity. His eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

A gust of wind blew the umbrella away.

Rainwater fell into his eyes.

He seemed unfazed, staring blankly at the sky.

He felt a warmth in his chest, a sensation he had never experienced before, and everything in his mind became clear.

It was like he had been living in a shell, not truly himself.

Who was he really?

Sarah's husband.

The kids' dad.

The CEO of the Valencia Group.

Someone who had hurt Sarah but still deeply loved her.

Someone who had gone through so much with Sarah to finally be together, only to be torn apart by fate.

Antonio.

He lay on the ground, laughing and crying, pounding the ground with his fists.

To hell with Benjamin, Harold, and Isabella!

He was Antonio!

He had always been Antonio!

He remembered everything now; everything that had happened recently was a lie!

He was Sarah's husband!

He had a happy family, a beloved wife called Sarah, and lively, adorable kids.

And all of it had been destroyed months ago, starting with Serene and then by Harold!

Benjamin couldn't even imagine how Sarah had managed to get through it all!

The rain poured harder, and the water kept falling into his eyes, mixing with his tears.

He slowly sat up, blood still dripping from the back of his head. The spot where he had been lying was dark red. Gradually, the blood was washed away by the rain, flowing into the distance.

'How did I remember? Was it the electroshock therapy, or did today's accident knock it back into me?' he thought.

But that didn't matter anymore.

He couldn't care less, his eyes scanning the surroundings in a daze.

He was on an overpass, and he remembered he was going to find Sarah.

Antonio stumbled forward, running.

All he wanted now was to find Sarah as quickly as possible and tell her everything!

He wanted to tell her he didn't forget her on purpose!

Antonio wasn't dead!

He was back now and would stay by her side forever, he would tell her how much he loved her!

He had barely run a few steps when a car window ahead rolled down slightly, and the driver curiously looked in his direction.

Benjamin suddenly stopped in front of the car, gripping the window and asking, "The pregnant woman from the accident up ahead, where was she taken?"

The driver, startled by the blood streaming down his head, stammered, "I heard... I heard she was taken to Unity Health Center."

Before the words were fully out, Benjamin had already disappeared.

He ran back to his car like a madman. By then, the traffic had eased up a bit.

He started the car, maneuvering through the gaps, and sped towards Unity Health Center, his hands gripping the steering wheel, his knuckles pale from the pressure.

The rain showed no sign of letting up, as if foretelling that this day would be anything but ordinary.

Benjamin drove like a maniac, reaching Unity Health Center at top speed. He didn't even park properly before running towards the emergency center. People on the way, seeing him drenched and covered in blood, thought he was a lunatic and kept their distance.

No one knew the pain he was feeling inside.

If the person in the accident was really Sarah, he would go insane!

He might as well die with her!

His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked disheveled, his steps unsteady as he ran to the front desk, demanding, "Where is the pregnant woman from the car accident who was just brought in?!"

His voice was hoarse, tinged with an inexplicable fury.

The nurse instinctively took a step back, "What... what do you want?"

She was a bit scared, afraid he might be a troublemaker.

Benjamin had no time to explain, his face full of suppressed rage. He was on the verge of losing control. He asked nervously, "I'm asking you again, where is the pregnant woman from the car accident?!"

He practically shouted, and the nurse, trembling, quickly said, "I'll... I'll check for you."

She started typing on the computer.

"Sir, there was indeed a pregnant woman brought in from a car accident. Her name is Laura Hall. Is that who you're looking for?"

Realizing that Benjamin had run through the rain to the hospital, she guessed it must be a family emergency, explaining his extreme emotions.

Benjamin looked at her with bloodshot eyes, water dripping from his hair, but his expression was one of relief.

"Laura?"

The nurse quickly nodded and said, "Yes."

To reassure him, she turned the screen around, pointing to the registered name, and said, "Sir, look, the only pregnant woman brought in from the car accident is her."

Benjamin stared at the information, not blinking.

He seemed lost, not saying a word for a long time.

The nurse grew concerned and asked, "Sir?"

Benjamin didn't look at her, turning to leave the hospital. Once outside, the cold rain hit him, and he let out a heavy sigh, releasing the tension he had held in for so long.

It wasn't her.

The one in the accident wasn't Sarah!

God knows, just thinking that the pregnant woman might be her made Benjamin feel like he couldn't breathe.

He looked at the pouring rain, his vision blurring, tears mixing with the rain.

He covered his face with his hands, breaking down in tears, but they were tears of relief.
