Chapter 809 Grandpa Is Not Dead

Returning to the country with a driver in tow, how could Francis possibly be doing poorly?

It was a good thing it turned out this way.

Otherwise, Antonio would definitely feel even more guilty.

Antonio said, "Yeah, but Francis must have suffered a lot from that car accident back then. Now that he's back, I definitely need to do my best to make it up to him."

Sarah listened to his deep voice, nodded, and said nothing.

"By the way, Sarah." Antonio suddenly remembered the news that had scared him earlier and quickly turned to look at her, nervous.

He noticed her belly was still perfectly round, which reassured him a bit. Carefully, he asked, "What did you mean when you said on the phone that you didn't want to have the baby?"

He was so frightened by those words that he rushed to the hospital, only to run into Francis and forget about it.

Sarah gave him a speechless look.

She hadn't brought it up, but Antonio was practically asking for a scolding.

"Exactly what it sounds like! The way you understood it." Sarah said coldly.

Hearing her annoyed tone, Antonio looked even more flustered. "Please don't be mad, okay? The baby is already so big; that it would be very harmful to you. Even if you only think about yourself, you can't act impulsively. If you really don't want this baby, at least give birth to it. I'll raise it by myself and won't let you see it, okay?"

Sarah's face changed, and she quickly covered her belly with both hands.

What nonsense was Antonio spouting? Wasn't he afraid the baby inside would hear and take it seriously?

But they were now on the main road, and Antonio was focused on driving, not noticing Sarah's actions.

Sarah got angry just looking at him and shouted, "Can you just focus on driving?"

She had to temporarily put the matter aside and, pretending to be casual, said, "Are you stupid? Aren't we doing fine now? That means I don't want to do it for now; I'll continue carrying the baby!"

"Really?"

Sarah didn't respond.

Antonio still felt worried. "Sarah, you can punish me however you want, but please, don't joke around with your own body, okay?"

His tone was helpless and humble.

He was clearly very afraid she might actually do something drastic.

Sarah's anger flared up again. She turned her head and looked at him intensely. "Oh? You can say things like that. I thought you didn't care at all. Since you can keep things from me, why should I inform you before doing anything? How does it feel to be kept in the dark? You must really like it!"

Antonio fell silent. He didn't dare to speak.

At the same time, he understood more clearly that Sarah might not actually want to get rid of the baby; she was just using that as a way to get back at him. She was still blaming him.

"I'm sorry, Sarah." Antonio pursed his lips, took her hand in his, and said, "I realize now how much of a jerk I was before. You have every right to blame me, but please, don't hurt yourself, okay?"

"You can hit me or scold me; I deserve it for what I did. But if you do something to hurt yourself, it would be worse than killing me."

His suppressed voice was right by her ear. Sarah felt a bit of pity but still pulled her hand away coldly. "Are we going or not?"

Her tone was still cold, but her attitude had clearly softened.

Antonio breathed a sigh of relief and quickly smiled. "Okay, let's go home."

They soon arrived at the villa, and Francis got out of the car with the help of the driver.

But looking at the building in front of him, he seemed a bit puzzled. "Antonio, aren't we going to the Valencia Villa?"

But this villa should be the marital home of Antonio and Sarah.

Francis had thought they would go to the Valencia Villa, where he was born and raised.

"Francis, the Valencia Villa has been sold." Antonio walked behind him, pushing the wheelchair, his tone somewhat apologetic. As they walked inside, he explained, "I've had this place redesigned. It's more comfortable for the family to live together. The Valencia Villa was too old. I think you'll like it here."

In fact, after Antonio sent Philip to prison, he had immediately and ruthlessly sold the Valencia Villa.

Francis accepted the reality. Looking at the well-maintained garden, he sighed with emotion. "Yeah, now that Grandpa is gone, there's no point in keeping the Valencia Villa. We should all move forward."

Hearing his words, Antonio suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Sarah's expression also became complicated.

But matters between brothers were best left for them to discuss, so she said nothing.

Francis sensed the atmosphere had become tense and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Francis..." Antonio thought about the disgusting things Philip had done and didn't know how to start. After all, in Francis's mind, Philip was probably still a kind figure.

But there was no need to hide the truth.

After hesitating for a moment, he said, "Actually, Grandpa isn't dead."

A look of surprise flashed across Francis's face. "Really? Then why did I find information saying he was dead? Didn't the Valencia Family even issue a death notice? Where is Grandpa now?"

"Yeah." Antonio continued, "But he did a lot of bad things and is now serving time in prison. If you want to see him, you'll have to visit him in prison."

"Is that so?" Francis was stunned, completely unprepared for such an outcome.

He didn't ask why Philip was in prison. Judging by Antonio's expression, there must have been a conflict between them.

And since Philip was sentenced, it meant he had committed a crime.

After a long while, he finally smiled bitterly and said, "Everything happens for a reason. It's okay, Antonio. After all this, I've come to terms with it."

Antonio had many words to say, but they all condensed into one heavy sentence, "Francis, I'm sorry."

Antonio was pained by the self-mockery on Francis's face and said in a deep voice, "If it weren't for saving me back then, you wouldn't have suffered so much, and even lost your legs."

"What are you talking about?" Francis lightly punched his arm and smiled. "Even though we're not related by blood, in my heart, we've always been brothers. Even if it meant dying for you, I'd do it willingly."

Hearing this, Antonio felt even more guilty.

He had always trusted Francis unconditionally.

Francis saw the guilt in his eyes and patted his hand comfortingly. "I'm really fine. Seeing you doing well now puts my mind at ease. At least it proves my suffering wasn't in vain, right?"

Seeing their close bond, Sarah felt touched and thought of her brother Brady, her eyes inexplicably welling up.

"Let's go inside and talk." Sarah reminded.

The two brothers finally snapped out of it and walked inside together.

After a while, Francis remembered to ask, "By the way, what exactly did Grandpa do? Can't a lawyer help him? After all, he's old; it would be good if he could suffer less."

The couple exchanged a complicated look.

How were they supposed to explain this? They couldn't just tell Francis that Philip had tried to kill them, could they?
