Chapter 509 I am Not Your Property

Joy at finding Sarah and anger at being deceived were both present in Antonio's eyes, yet both were scattered by this slap.
"Antonio, I am not your property; you don't need to watch me all the time!"
Antonio was stunned by Sarah's angry reprimand. Was he watching her all the time?
Resentment was evident in Sarah’s tone, "I was wondering why you kindly returned my phone to me earlier. You installed a tracker on my phone, didn't you?! How bored are you?! Serene hasn't been caught yet, so how could I possibly leave this mess behind and sneak away? I'm not an irresponsible person like you! You're not allowed to monitor me anymore!"
Upon hearing this, Antonio finally understood why she was so angry.
It seemed that Sarah avoided the bodyguards not to sneak away...
And, she misunderstood that he found her because of her tracker in her phone!
Although he felt wronged by the misunderstanding, Antonio was completely relieved. Everything was fine, as long as she was still around.
"Sarah, I’m not monitoring you, and I didn’t install a tracker on your phone! Please listen to me; I just found that you were missing and thought you might go home, so I came back to try my luck! You see, aren't we quite fated?"
Sarah snorted coldly, "I wouldn't be fated with a pervert like you."
Even after insulting him, she felt unsatisfied, so she kicked Antonio's leg and then turned to get in the car.
She was tired and there was a ready driver to take her back to the hospital.
Antonio was in pain and silently stomped his right leg.
At least she was fair; last time it was the left leg...
He didn't bother to explain any further. Now, Sarah thought whatever he said was an excuse or a lie. It was more practical not to say anything at all.
Sarah, who got in the car, saw Antonio standing in place and honked the horn unhappily.
Antonio came back to his senses, quickly ran back into the car, and put the coat he had prepared on Sarah.
"You didn't even wear a coat; what if you caught a cold?"
Sarah was indeed a bit cold, and she didn't refuse the coat, but her expression remained cold.
Antonio laughed; he was just about to start the car when he heard Sarah say, "There was an avalanche at Galon Snow Peak more than a decade ago. Many people who went skiing were trapped there at the time. You should check the list of all the people who appeared on the mountain that day, including the staff."
Upon hearing the words “Galon Snow Peak,” the smile on Antonio's face suddenly froze.
He turned around with a dejected look, "I'm sorry, Sarah... Can you stop blaming me; it's all my fault. If I had known it would be like this, I would have chosen to die in that avalanche!"
In the end, he couldn't help but grab Sarah's hand.
Now it was Sarah's turn to be stunned. What was going on?
She forcefully shook Antonio off, "Are you crazy?!"
"Sarah, I know it really annoys you that Serene saved my life when we were young. I'm also fed up with her constantly using this act of saving my life to threaten me, so I've made it clear to her that whatever material compensation she wants I can satisfy, but anything extra is impossible! The subsequent car accident was really unexpected, and I will solve it as soon as possible, okay? Now I'm just like you; I also suspect Serene, really."
Sarah’s eyes grew even more puzzled as she listened to Antonio try and justify himself.
What was he talking about?
She clearly asked him to check the avalanche incident, but he inexplicably mentioned Serene.
The fact that Serene saved Antonio’s life was indeed annoying, so annoying that from the past to the present, Sarah never wanted to listen to Antonio carefully recount the incident.
If Serene hadn't saved Antonio, he would have died. She accepted this fact and moved on.
Antonio was still anxious, so he wanted to continue explaining, "Sarah, can I tell you in detail?"
"More than ten years ago, I went skiing at Galon Snow Peak. One day, there was a sudden avalanche. My skiing skills were not very good at the time, so I was buried in the snow while running away and later it was Serene who found me and pulled me out of the snow..."
Upon hearing this, Sarah felt like her brain had been struck by lightning!
The story Antonio told, she had also experienced, but in her story, she was the heroine!
In an instant, Sarah understood everything.
So it turned out that on that day on the snow mountain, not only was Serene there, Antonio was there too...
The young man Sarah had saved was actually Antonio!
She was trembling, never expecting the universe to play such a huge joke on her.
Sarah stared at Antonio in a daze, her voice trembling as she continued his story, "It took her all night to dig you out of the snow; she was nearly exhausted, but you were in worse shape than her. She had to keep talking to you to keep you conscious, and she told you many stories. But your injuries were too severe, and you were too weak to respond. Only her voice echoed in the vast whiteness of the snow, right?"
Sarah gripped Antonio's wrist tightly as her face flushed with anger or something unnamable. Her fingertips were digging deeply into his flesh, as if she wanted to squeeze blood out of him.
Antonio nodded, his face filled with guilt, "Sarah, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have gone skiing. When she saved me, I should have pushed her away. Those damn stories; I didn't want to listen at all, I really..."
Suddenly.
Antonio stopped talking and looked up at Sarah.
He had never told Sarah the details of his rescue back then. How did she know everything so well?
Could it be that Serene was playing tricks again?!
Thinking of this, Antonio quickly gripped Sarah's hand, "Sarah, did Serene tell you something again? Is that why you ran out of the hospital? Sarah, you mustn't believe her!"
Sarah took a deep breath; sometimes she really wanted to know what was going on in Antonio's head!
"Antonio, let me tell you a story."
Antonio responded, and suddenly his heart started to beat rapidly, sensing that something important was about to be revealed...
