Chapter 174 Alex is Leaving
The family doctor quickly arrived at the hotel and carefully examined the rash on Harper's arm before saying, "It seems to be an allergy. The situation isn't too severe, but it might be uncomfortable."
"Allergy?" Sarah was taken aback and noticed several painters approaching nearby. It dawned on her at that moment.
Harper was allergic to paint, and she had been careless enough not to notice the ongoing renovation in the hotel.
Sarah bent down, wiping her daughter's tears while asking with concern, "Harper, did you come into contact with those painters just now?"
Harper pretended to ponder for a moment and then nodded with tears streaming down her face. "I, I happened to meet them as soon as I got out of the elevator."
At that moment, the doctor handed Sarah the allergy medicine and continued, "The child only displayed such symptoms after passing by. I suggest that you temporarily refrain from staying in this hotel. Repeated allergic reactions can lead to medication dependence, and eventually, the medication may become ineffective."
"I don't want to suffer anymore... Mommy, let's not stay here. I... I'm scared." Harper couldn't stop her tears upon hearing the doctor's words, her shoulders trembling as if she were truly in great discomfort.
"Harper, I'll take you back to the villa. Everything will be fine." Antonio gently crouched down, touched his daughter's head, and let out a sigh of relief in his heart.
Upon hearing Harper crying over the phone earlier, he couldn't help but worry. He feared that something had happened again, dreading the possibility of his children getting hurt once more.
"Mhmm, with Daddy around, I'm not scared." Harper hugged Antonio tightly, revealing a smile. The smile, accompanied by tears on her face, made her look pitiful yet adorable.
Sarah watched the interaction between father and daughter, feeling a sudden unease for no apparent reason. But when she thought about returning to that villa where Lisa's son still lived... that flicker of anxiety was immediately doused with cold water.
"Harper, we can find another hotel to stay in. Don't you want to live with Mommy anymore?"
Sarah spoke in a gentle voice, and Antonio pursed his lips upon hearing her words.
He didn't expect her to be so stubborn, willing to find a different hotel to stay in rather than go home with him.
Since it was like this, she couldn't blame him for using some special means.
Antonio lightly pressed his thin lips together, directly asking his daughter, "Harper, do you want to go home with Daddy?"
Undoubtedly, this was his way of letting Harper make a choice.
The atmosphere became tense.
Harper cautiously glanced at Sarah. I must help Daddy win back Mommy. I can't waver now!
"Of course, I want to go home with Daddy... Mommy, I'm still in pain and feeling really uncomfortable... I don't feel comfortable in any hotel. Harper misses the soft princess bed."
She specifically mentioned the princess room her dad had prepared for her, where there were many dolls she liked!
As Harper spoke, tears streamed down her cheeks. Combined with the prominent rash on her arm, it made people feel distressed and unable to resist her request.
"What's wrong?" Sarah examined her daughter's tear-streaked face, a sharp pang of concern piercing her heart. She hadn't yet resolved her own feelings about Antonio, and now, with Harper's allergy…
She had to prioritize her daughter's well-being.
"Daddy will take you home now." Antonio looked deeply at Sarah and made a bold gamble on whether she would soften her heart.
He bent down and picked up their daughter, intending to leave.
Seeing this, Ethan couldn't help but marvel at Harper's courage this time. She was really daring.
Since that's the case...
After some hesitation, Ethan finally spoke up, "Mommy, I'm worried about Harper... Let's go together."
He wasn't trying to help Antonio get his mother back, but...
Considering how hard Harper was trying, he was giving Antonio a chance to prove himself.
If Antonio couldn't withstand the test, then Ethan would be more convinced of his own position!
Hearing her son say this, Sarah didn't know what else she could do.
In the end, she could only nod and say, "Alright."
Harper was ecstatic as her plan succeeded!
Her eyes gleamed with excitement, and she sneakily stuck her tongue out at Ethan when Sarah wasn't paying attention...
And so, the villa welcomed back the true Mrs. Valencia and their offspring.
…
The next two days spent in the villa, Sarah remained indifferent towards Antonio.
More accurately, Antonio wanted to find an opportunity to spend time alone with her, but Sarah always intentionally or unintentionally avoided him. The few conversations they had were facilitated by their precious daughter.
Fortunately, Sarah didn't mention divorce again during these two days.
In Antonio's eyes, he and Sarah could go back to how things used to be as long as they didn't divorce.
Today…
Antonio was in his office looking at some documents, but his mind was preoccupied with how to further advance his relationship with Sarah. Just as he was thinking about it, someone knocked on the office door.
"Come in."
James walked in from outside and first reported some work matters before saying, "I heard Alex is going back, and Mrs. Valencia is now... on her way to the airport to see him off."
Upon hearing this, Antonio's hand paused while flipping through the documents, and his gaze gradually darkened...
Alex is leaving?
