Chapter 141 The Bad Dad Saved Him
Anxiety and panic hit Sarah like a freight train. Her heart skipped a beat as she screamed and bolted over.
"Ethan! Harper! Move it!" But someone else beat her to it, diving into the pool first.
When Sarah saw who it was, a whirlwind of emotions flashed across her face, but she hoped Antonio could save the kids.
Just a bit ago, Antonio found out Sarah had taken the kids to the amusement park, so he came looking for them.
But as soon as he got there, he saw the accident and dashed over without a second thought.
Right now, he wasn't thinking about anything else; he had one thing on his mind: no way he was letting those kids get hurt!
Harper was having a blast when she suddenly felt something was off. She turned and saw the tall slide about to crash down on her, screaming in terror.
But in her panic, her feet felt glued to the ground. She could only shut her eyes tight, her face going pale.
Ethan sensed the danger and saw Harper frozen. Instinctively, he shoved Harper out of the way, but it was too late for him to dodge.
As the slide got closer, Ethan's breathing went haywire, and his heart felt like it was gonna burst out of his chest.
Just when Ethan thought he was done for, a strong arm appeared out of nowhere, wrapping around him tight.
The person moved fast, whisking him away.
Ethan felt a gust of wind, something brushing his clothes.
Then, a muffled groan came from above his head.
Ethan's heart skipped a beat. He looked up and was shocked to see Antonio holding him.
Antonio had saved him!
At that moment, the tension and anxiety on Antonio's face hadn't faded. His breathing was rapid, and there was still a hint of fear in his eyes.
He glanced back at the slide that had crashed into the ball pit and let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Only then did he carry Ethan to the edge of the pool and set him down.
There was still a trace of confusion in his eyes.
When he saw Ethan almost get hit, his breath had momentarily stopped.
He even felt a sense of fear.
Now that Ethan was safe, he felt his heart settle back into place.
Why did he have such a reaction?
On the other side, Sarah rushed over to pick up the terrified and limp Harper.
Noticing Harper's pale face and trembling body, Sarah felt her eyes well up with tears..
She carried Harper out of the pool, softly comforting her, "It's okay now, Harper. Don't be scared. Mommy's got you."
Hearing the commotion, the staff hurried over to evacuate the parents and kids.
Sarah just wanted to get the kids out of this dangerous place ASAP.
But as she was about to leave, she felt she had to thank Antonio.
Sarah sighed and turned to him.
She immediately noticed Antonio's forehead covered in cold sweat, his brows furrowed, and his lips slightly pale.
He looked like he was in serious pain.
Sarah instinctively frowned, recalling the situation earlier, and couldn't help but ask, "Are you hurt?"
Antonio glanced at Sarah and said in a deep voice, "It's nothing. Let's get out of here first."
They walked back without saying a word.
Harper was still in shock, her small hands clutching Sarah's clothes tight.
Ethan, on the other hand, was much calmer than Harper, silently following beside Sarah.
His face was cold, showing no expression, but his eyes were filled with complex emotions.
He was both scared and grateful, but above all, confused.
Antonio clearly didn't like him, so why did he save him?
And how was he there at the exact moment of danger?
Ethan couldn't figure it out and kept glancing at Antonio.
Antonio didn't notice Ethan's gaze; he was still lost in his own doubts.
He didn't understand why he would worry about Sarah and her lover's kids.
Was it just because he liked Sarah that he worried about the kids?
It wasn't that he regretted saving Ethan; he would never stand by and watch any kid in danger, even a stranger.
But the chilling fear he felt just now definitely came from an instinct he couldn't yet comprehend.
