Chapter 455 I Will Spare No Effort to Blacklist You
Edwin started laughing himself.
Antonio slammed the table abruptly. "Watch your tongue, or you’ll regret it!"
Recognizing Antonio's genuine anger, Edwin softened his demeanor, gestured with a wave of his hand, and politely requested the accompanying women to depart.
"Mr. Valencia, don't be so petty. Next time when your son is not around, we can talk again. I grew up poor and haven't seen much of the world. I think your experiences must have been better than mine. I'll be more careful next time."
Antonio kept a cold face. This man kept talking about 'family' as if he didn't take him seriously at all. Since that was the case, there was no point in discussing any partnership.
However, before Antonio could speak, Brian suddenly said, "Edwin Watson discovered a convenient way to use new energy during his university years and got first place in an entrepreneurship competition for college students. By selling the team's achievement, he earned his start-up capital and has been developing it into what it is now. Mr. Watson indeed deserves admiration."
Edwin was stunned, looking incredulously at Brian; he had not expected him to know so much about his entrepreneurial background.
"There’s no need to be so surprised. It's just a matter of knowing your enemy. My father wants to partner with you, so naturally, he needs to understand your background. After all, not just anyone is worthy of discussing partnerships with my father. Besides, some trash really isn’t worth anything, only fit to be thrown in the garbage bin."
Brian spoke with a cold face and an indifferent tone, yet there was an unmistakable authority in his words.
"My father has always been very optimistic about young people like you. He understands the hardships of starting a business better than anyone else. After all, when Valencia Inc. faced a crisis, it was my father who took on all the pressure, pushed through the opposition, and developed new energy. Thanks to this, you were able to capitalize on it to build your fortune.
"Looking at you here, it seems like you don't quite understand my father. To be precise, you are clueless about the person who paved the way for your business.
"Turns out, Mr. Watson, you are just a blind man who can't see the wood for the trees. Dad, we don’t discriminate against the disabled, but those who are mentally deficient cannot collaborate with Valencia Inc."
In reality, Brian wasn’t offended by Edwin’s crude jokes because, at the end of the day, he understood that the person being looked down upon was actually Antonio.
And it was this contempt for Antonio that infuriated Brian.
Even when Brian wanted to target Antonio because of his mother, he never denied Antonio's success in business, which was inseparable from his talent and hard work.
Antonio was a natural-born business prodigy.
The fact that such a nobody dared to bully Antonio was too much for Bryan to bear. He was furious!
The words, tinged with childishness, greatly embarrassed Edwin, leaving him dumbfounded like a deer caught in headlights.
Meanwhile, Antonio was deeply moved. It marked the first time he had heard Brian speak at such length to express his appreciation. He considered himself truly fortunate to have such an amazing son!
Antonio had never imagined that Brian was so knowledgeable about his personal affairs, thinking he was never interested.
Edwin's lips trembled uncontrollably. "You... don't think your Valencia Inc. is my best choice. There are plenty of companies that want to work with me, including a multinational—"
Brian sneered coldly. "If I remember correctly, the CEO of the multinational corporation you're talking about is named Allen, and the person in charge of company affairs is Alex. Sorry, but Alex probably won't be working with you."
"What do you mean?"
Brian just smiled faintly, took out his phone, and called Alex. "A man named Edwin Watson won’t need to collaborate with our company anymore. If you encounter him, there’s no need to show him any courtesy. Oh right, this is as per my father’s instructions."
Edwin sat frozen in his chair, pale-faced. "Who exactly are you people?!"
Antonio couldn't be bothered with him; he was in such a good mood that he felt like singing.
He lifted Brian up in a hug, playfully bouncing him a little, and said coldly to Edwin, "I wish you ‘all the best’ in your future projects. The Valencia family will also spare no effort to blacklist you."
With that, Antonio walked out of the restaurant carrying Brian.
…
Back in the car, Antonio's eyes were slightly red, and he could not express how thrilled he was.
Brian had defended him in front of others, something he had never anticipated. "Brian, thank you."
Brian was a bit uncomfortable under Antonio's intense gaze.
"It's because he looked down on us, I just couldn't stand it." Brian pursed his lips. "Besides, others may not be aware of the hard work you’ve put in, but I am. If I were you, I might not have done as well."
Brian paused for a moment, then turned his face away awkwardly. "I've always admired you. Others have even less right to insult you."
Antonio held Brian in his arms, too moved to speak, wanting to kiss him straight on the cheeks.
Brian widened his eyes in alarm. "Wait a minute! The deal with Edwin fell through, do you have any other ideas?"
Antonio also let go. "Then, I wonder if the young and promising CEO Allen would be interested in collaborating with me to develop new energy sources? You can set the terms."
"No problem, I'll have Alex contact you right away." Brian had already contemplated this idea; it was just that the project required bringing in other companies as shareholders, which was why he came to meet Edwin today.
Edwin was just icing on the cake, but collaborating with Antonio would be a true powerhouse union.
"Great."
…
Once news of the collaboration between the two companies broke, many domestic and foreign companies offered to join.
Numerous enterprises had shown interest in the project beforehand. However, Valencia Inc.'s partnership with a prominent multinational group from overseas brought forth additional advantages, significantly bolstering Valencia Inc.'s position.
…
After recovering from the flu in just a few days, Brady received a call from the courier company notifying him that his package from overseas had arrived. However, due to the valuable contents, he was required to collect it in person from customs. No problem, I'll go right now,' Brady thought excitedly.
He had been waiting for this bracelet for so long, and it was finally within reach. Sarah would surely be thrilled to see it.
Brady quickly went to customs, completed all the procedures, and received the bracelet. Ready to set off to find Sarah, he started driving towards the Valencia residence.
However, just as he was on his way, he suddenly received a call from Serene.
"Ms. Jerrett, what made you call me?"
Brady was surprised; although they got along well, they didn't usually keep in touch.
Serene's voice sounded very downhearted as if she had just been crying. "I just thought of you, I hope I'm not disturbing you?"
Brady pulled over to the side of the road. "Ms. Jerrett, is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong, it's just... You know what, never mind, I shouldn't be bothering you with this."
