Chapter 756 Dead is Dead

"What?" Antonio raised an eyebrow, listening to Sarah's plan.

After hearing her out, he thought, 'Yeah, that’s actually a solid idea.'

Once he hung up, Antonio stared at the unconscious guy on the floor, deep in thought.

Then he snapped a pic of the monitor showing a flatline.

Just then, Issac burst in with a doctor, both looking totally confused. "What... what happened here?" Issac stammered.

The doctor was just as shocked. "Mr. Harrington, what's going on?"

"Nothing" Antonio said, putting his phone away. "I was just passing by, thought I'd check in, and stumbled upon this."

Antonio had been stressing about how to deal with Harold, and now Harold had basically handed him an opportunity.

"Audrey?" Isaac's voice shook as he rushed to her bedside. "Audrey, are you okay?"

Seeing Isaac like that, Antonio felt a pang of pity. He patted Isaac's shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll help you. Whoever's trying to hurt your wife, they'll pay."

Isaac saw the determination in Antonio's eyes and nodded repeatedly. "Thank you!"

He didn't know what Antonio had in mind, but if it meant help, Isaac was all in. Besides, he trusted Antonio. Without him, they wouldn't even have a ward right now!

The doctor finally snapped out of it, gave some quick instructions, and checked on Audrey. But it was too late; she was gone.

He was at a loss, facing Isaac, who was clearly not someone to mess with.

Soon, a nurse brought the hospital director over.

The director apologized, "Mr. Harrington, we're really sorry you had to go through this!"

Antonio glanced at him and sneered, "Do you think I'm the one who needs your apology?"

The director was taken aback and quickly turned to Isaac, who was already in tears by the bedside, looking up with bloodshot eyes.

Isaac yelled, "An apology? Will that bring my wife back?"

The director was speechless, cold sweat forming on his forehead.

Antonio calmly pulled up a chair, sat down, and crossed his legs, exuding an icy authority.

He knew Audrey's death was due to her worsening condition, but now he had leverage over the hospital. Time to make them pay.

"He's right," Antonio said, looking at Isaac crying over Audrey. "If an apology could fix everything, why do we need the police? Do you think an apology will make this right?"

The director shifted his gaze between Antonio and Isaac, feeling a chill run down his spine.

In his eyes, Isaac clearly listened to Antonio. But Antonio wasn't someone to be easily fooled.

"Mr. Harrington," the director's tone was even more humble now. "How do you think we should resolve this? If it's reasonable, can we settle this privately?"

Antonio's eyes flashed. "We do need to think about how to resolve this. After all, this happened in the hospital. You can see Isaac and Audrey were really close. If he decides to make a big deal out of this, it won't be good for the hospital."

Their hospital was currently up for an evaluation. If this incident got out, their future prospects would be toast! The director never imagined an assassin would break in during the night. If word got out, it would make their hospital look like a joke in terms of security.

And Benjamin saw it all!

It was definitely a security fail on their part.

The director sighed heavily and cautiously asked, "Mr. Harrington, do you have any good solutions?"

Antonio replied, "I can help convince the patient's family not to make a big deal out of this."

With that, Antonio casually fiddled with his phone, his deep gaze unreadable. "But there are two conditions. First, the compensation must be paid in full."

The director nodded eagerly. "Mr. Harrington, rest assured, that will definitely be done!"

With Benjamin watching, they wouldn't dare to skimp!

"Second."

Antonio's gaze swept over the nurse and doctor beside him, his eyes like daggers making them shiver.

He continued, "Keep this quiet. I don't want anyone other than the five people present to know about this. I will personally investigate and ensure justice for the family."

The director, doctor, and nurse exchanged glances and finally nodded repeatedly.

"Mr. Harrington, rest assured! We won't say a word!"

"Yes, we definitely won't say anything!"

As long as this matter could be settled, they would be more than happy for it not to spread.

"Good." Antonio turned off the recording on his phone and played it back for them. "Director, I suppose you should be a man of your word. If you don't keep your promise, then..."

His cold gaze swept over the three of them. "This hospital might not be the right place for you."

The three of them felt a chill down their spines and assured him they would keep their word.

Deep down, they knew that if word got out, Benjamin had ways to get them kicked out of the hospital!

They wouldn't risk their careers for this.

Antonio was satisfied with their reaction. He turned to look at the unconscious man on the floor, a cold glint in his eyes. "You can go handle the compensation now. I'll take this man and secretly hand him over to the police."

"Understood."

The director wiped the sweat from his forehead. "If you need anything else, just let us know!"

The three of them left, leaving only Isaac's heart-wrenching cries in the room, making the atmosphere sorrowful and desperate.

Antonio pinched the bridge of his nose and waited until Isaac had calmed down a bit before speaking, "She's already gone. Don't be too sad."

"Mr. Harrington, thank you."

"No need." Antonio glanced at his watch and said, "It's still early. You should take Audrey and handle the funeral arrangements."

Despite his grief, Isaac knew this was Audrey's fate, and there was nothing he could do.

He wiped his tears and, with Antonio's help, went to handle the funeral.

Antonio watched them leave, his intense gaze falling on the man who moved slightly on the floor. He lifted his foot and kicked hard.

The next second, the man's temple hit the corner of the wall, blood gushing out like a waterfall, and he fell unconscious again.

Thinking of Isaac's heart-wrenching cries, Antonio couldn't help but wonder, if it were Sarah lying here today, what would the outcome be?

These thoughts stirred up his anger, making him want to kill this vicious man and Harold right now.

Antonio loosened his tie and opened the window.

The cool breeze blew in, clearing his mind a bit.

He took a deep breath and pulled out his phone to make a call.
