Chapter 796 James, Danger!

To him, Sarah was the best in the world.

"Okay." He agreed, the suppression and restraint in his eyes gradually pouring out. Every word seemed to take all his strength. "By the way, I might not be able to answer your call the day after tomorrow. I have to accompany a big client to inspect the workshop. If there's anything, leave me a message."

Timothy's surgery was scheduled for the day after tomorrow, so he definitely wouldn't be able to keep in touch with her.

Sarah didn't think much of it and smiled to comfort him, "What could I possibly need? Since you're busy, I won't bother you. But remember to call the kids more often when you're done; they miss you a lot."

"You don't miss me?"

Sarah teased him, "You know the answer, yet you still ask. Alright, let's not talk about it. I'm driving."

She had just arrived at the mall. After parking the car, she put away her phone and got out to go inside.

She didn't have much to buy, so she finished shopping quickly.

Sarah was carrying a few shopping bags and was about to call Mary when she felt something was off nearby.

She turned her head and immediately frowned.

Not far from her, a man in a wheelchair had somehow fallen. Passersby were coming and going, but no one helped him.

Sarah frowned, walked over, and put her things on the ground. "Sir! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, thank you for helping me." He had a striking appearance, but there was something odd about his jaw, as if it bore the marks of reconstructive surgery after an injury.

He seemed surprised by his fall, a flash of embarrassment and frustration crossing his face, along with a hint of helplessness.

Seeing someone come to help, he smiled sincerely, "I'm alright, thank you for the trouble."

Sarah quickly helped him right into the wheelchair and picked up her shopping bags.

It was only then that Francis noticed Sarah was pregnant, and he felt a bit guilty. "Sorry, I didn't notice."

He pointed to Sarah's rounded belly, "Thank you for helping, but are you okay?"

Sarah smiled, "It's fine, don't worry. But sir, are you alone?"

It was rare to see someone in a wheelchair out shopping without any company.

And she had a vague feeling that this man looked familiar, but it wasn't polite to stare.

Francis looked pale and frail, the kind of weakness that suggested poor health. He smiled faintly, "Thank you, but I have no family left. I have to rely on myself."

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright."

Francis didn't seem to mind and even felt a connection with Sarah, "Could you help me to the elevator? You can put the bags on my lap."

Sarah agreed and pushed him towards the elevator.

Francis sighed softly, " Capital City has changed so much. I used to come to this mall often, but now I hardly recognize it."

Sarah asked, "Have you not been to Capital City for a long time?"

Francis shook his head, "Actually, I'm from Capital City. But a few years ago, I had an accident and went abroad. I stayed there for many years. I just came back a few days ago."

Talking about this seemed to spark a desire to chat with Francis, so he continued, "I came back to find my family, but I didn't expect that they were all gone."

Realizing he might have said too much, he gave Sarah an apologetic look. "Sorry, I was lying there for a long time, and you were the only one who helped me. Maybe I felt a bit emotional, so I talked more. I hope you don't mind."

"Of course not." Sarah quickly waved her hand.

She could understand the feeling of being alone and physically inconvenienced, much like when she was pregnant with triplets abroad.

And he had no family left, how pitiful.

Sarah felt a bit emotional, "If your family knew you came back to find them, they would be very comforted. They will know."

Francis smiled gently, "I hope so."

Sarah asked, "So, where are you going now? Do you need help?"

If she could help, she didn't mind giving him a ride.

Francis's eyes were deep, like a vast, misty forest.

He looked back at Sarah, a warm smile spreading across his face, "Miss, you're so kind. You'll have good fortune in the future."

"It's just a trivial thing." Sarah felt a bit embarrassed, "Out of so many people, I was the one who helped you. It's fate."

Francis's eyes curved, "Thank you, but I won't trouble you. My driver is in the parking lot below. He'll meet me at the elevator."

Sarah was silent, realizing he was a wealthy man with a driver, and that she had overthought it.

By now, they had reached the elevator. Sarah pressed the button and, after saying goodbye to Francis, turned to leave.

The elevator doors opened, and Francis wheeled himself in, turning to face the entrance.

He looked up, watching Sarah's retreating figure, his eyes glimmering.

Sarah didn't think much of the incident. She often helped people when she was out.

After returning home, the maid helped put away her purchases, and Sarah planned to rest for a bit before going to the hospital to see Mary and check on Cynthia.

She had just slumped on the couch when James, who had come to the house to get some documents for Brian, arrived.

Seeing Sarah, he habitually greeted, "Ms. Miller."

Sarah sat up and smiled at him.

James quickly found what he needed and was about to leave when Sarah suddenly said, "Hey, James."

James thought she had something for him to do and stopped, "What's up, Ms. Miller?"

"Now that you're staying in Caoital City, isn't Antonio short-handed?" Sarah suddenly remembered, "Didn't he say a major partner of the Harrington Group was going to inspect Marshall City? Don't you need to help?"

James had been Antonio's assistant for the longest time. For such an important project, shouldn't he be kept around?

"What?" James was confused, "Which partner are you talking about?"

He hadn't heard of any partner inspecting Marshall City.

Sarah saw his puzzled expression, and her smile slowly faded, "You don't know about a major project of the Harrington Group in Marshall City?"

James had no idea what was going on, but he felt his answer was crucial.

'Is Ms. Miller testing me? Does Mr. Valencia lie to her, and she is probing?' James couldn't help but think.
