Chapter 206 My Son Cannot Lie
Early the next morning, Antonio took the two children and Sarah to the aquarium. As soon as the family parked their car and got out, their striking looks drew the attention of the crowd.
A young boy carrying a basket of flowers approached Antonio, glancing at Sarah with curious eyes. "Sir, want to buy a flower?"
Sarah quickly grabbed Antonio's arm and shook her head. "No need to buy. They will wilt if we take them back."
Antonio looked at her, noticing that despite her words, her gaze remained fixed on the flowers, with a faint glimmer in her eyes.
"Give me all the flowers. How much?" he asked in a low voice, looking at the little boy with smudges on his face from rubbing off dust.
As soon as the boy realized Antonio wanted to buy all the flowers, a smile bloomed in his eyes. "That'll be a total of $80. I'll wrap them up for you right away!"
The boy efficiently wrapped up the flowers and handed them to Antonio, who directly handed him a $100 bill. "It's for you."
After happily bouncing away with the boy, Antonio turned around, his low voice filled with magnetism.
Sarah took the beautiful bouquet into her hands, the variety of flowers captivating her eyes.
"Wow! Honey, I envy her. Will you buy me flowers, too?"
"It's so romantic, and their family looks so good-looking together..."
The entrance to the aquarium was already crowded, and many onlookers started whispering quietly when they witnessed this scene.
Sarah blushed, covering half her face with the flowers. Her long eyelashes concealed the joy in her eyes, which were fixated on the blossoming flowers.
It had been so long since she received flowers, and the sudden joy made her uncontrollably curl her lips up.
Seeing their parents being affectionate, Harper blinked her big eyes and happily grabbed Ethan's hand, preventing herself from jumping up.
Ethan glanced at Harper wordlessly, snorted coldly at Antonio, and then averted his gaze, clearly still not satisfied with what had happened earlier.
"Let's go inside and enjoy ourselves," Sarah said, noticing Ethan's sour mood. She quickly placed the flowers back in the car and gently smiled as she held Ethan's hand.
Although Ethan didn't want to acknowledge Antonio, he was still happy that Sarah accompanied them to the aquarium. He nodded, and the family entered the aquarium together.
Upon entering, they encountered a long arched corridor made entirely of special glass, filled with deep blue seawater. Within the glass enclosures were various-colored jellyfish, their tentacles gracefully dancing, presenting an indescribable and enchanting beauty of the underwater world.
"Mommy, it's so beautiful!" Harper exclaimed, leaning against the glass, her eyes shining with starry lights.
Sarah was also amazed by the breathtaking scenery. As she focused on the jellyfish, Antonio approached her silently.
Their shoulders brushed against each other as they stood side by side.
"I remember that light blue jellyfish is your favorite color," Antonio casually mentioned near her ear in a low voice, his muscular arm lifting to point.
Her heart started pounding as if time froze at this moment, yet the temperature kept rising...
Sarah nodded quietly, reaching for her phone to take a picture of the jellyfish to disguise her fluctuating emotions. But she couldn't find her phone anywhere.
She frowned, uneasily set her backpack down, and rummaged through it again, her forehead creasing deeply.
"My phone is missing..."
"You shouldn't have forgotten it. I saw you put it in your bag this morning," Antonio said with certainty, his deep gaze slightly condensed.
"Mommy, look over there! That person wearing a cap has been acting suspiciously. And isn't that your phone in his hand?" Ethan immediately spotted something amiss.
As soon as that person heard the sound, he quickly hid the phone and turned to leave.
Ethan wanted to chase after him, but Antonio held him back firmly.
"I'll go after him. You stay with Mommy," he said, then headed towards the person with the cap, tapping him on the shoulder. "Hand it over."
Antonio exuded an aura of warning, his tall figure blocking the person, who appeared noticeably small in comparison.
The cap-wearing person showed no signs of panic and impatiently emptied his bag and pockets, cursing under his breath.
"See! Clearly, there's nothing! You people are making baseless accusations! Unreasonable!"
The man's angry outburst attracted a crowd, but when they saw that he indeed didn't have the phone, the onlookers began to gossip.
"What's wrong with this family? The child talks nonsense without proper upbringing. How can they cause trouble like this?"
"Yeah, searching someone like that, so disrespectful! If it were my child, I'd spank them!"
...
Upon hearing the chatter of the onlookers, Ethan's face turned pale. He urgently pointed at the person, angrily explaining, "No! I'm not lying! I really saw it! He was clapping hands with another person wearing a hat just now!"
His voice grew louder, but the fact remained. The people around furrowed their brows even more, some shaking their heads.
"Don't these parents take care of their child? Letting him make up stories like this... What will happen when he grows up?"
The bystanders still didn't believe, and Ethan broke free from Sarah, running up to the person.
Ethan's mind raced as he quickly analyzed and explained, "He definitely gave the phone to his accomplice! I am not lying!"
Upon hearing Ethan's guess about what he had done, the person's face darkened.
He pointed at Ethan.
Ethan glanced at him with a hint of disdain.
"You little liar, just now you slandered me without distinction, and now you're continuing to spin stories and tell lies. Didn't your parents teach you not to deceive people? It's truly quite an education..."
As the man spoke, he tried to push past Ethan, intending to leave this place of conflict.
However, before he could finish his sentence or make his exit, he suddenly felt a chilling aura seeping into his body, along with the weight on his shoulders.
"My son would never lie."
