Chapter 519 More Painful Than Death
Antonio looked at the surveillance camera in the hospital room. He knew that Serene was watching his every move; he was under Serene's control. He didn't dare act rashly.
"Oh, have you figured it out?" Serene laughed even more wildly, her voice like a wolf's howl in the night, grating and disgusting.
Antonio sat back down on the hospital bed, "What else do you want?"
Serene hummed, seemingly very satisfied, "You're learning. Waiting for me in bed, how obedient."
Antonio felt sick; the disgust on his face was now even more apparent, "Speak!"
"Alright, alright, don't be so impatient."
Serene sighed again, continuing, "I have sent you the route. The entire way is covered by surveillance cameras. They are my eyes. Remember to greet me from time to time; otherwise, I don’t know what I might do to your beloved and her father."
"Like gouging out an eye, cutting off a tongue, or throwing someone at the foot of the mountain to feed the wolves..."
"Enough!" Antonio roared, using all his strength to suppress his anger, "Serene, I will follow your route, but you must ensure that I see Sarah unharmed!"
"That depends on whether you behave. Oh, by the way, I’m monitoring your phone. Don't even think about calling anyone. You won’t be able to handle the consequences." Serene laughed coldly.
Antonio didn't dare act rashly. Now that Sarah was in Serene's hands, he was like a puppet on a string.
He could only be manipulated.
Antonio glanced at the surveillance camera, then got up, and left.
The bodyguards waiting at the door didn't know what had happened. When they saw Antonio leaving, they asked, "Mr. Valencia, you're awake? We should go find Mrs. Valencia."
"No need." Antonio knew better.
"Let Mrs. Valencia and Mr. Jerrett rest well. Don't disturb them. Also, don't follow me."
Leaving the bodyguards looking surprised, Antonio took his car keys and left.
The call was still ongoing, so Serene naturally heard everything.
"Antonio, you're really smart. I was wondering what would happen if your bodyguards acted rashly. Your beloved Sarah would be dead if they did!"
Antonio listened to Serene's laughter, gripping the steering wheel tightly with nowhere to vent his frustration.
The navigation system in the car had already displayed the route to South Mountain, and the entire way was littered with surveillance cameras.
Just like Serene said, he was being watched the whole way and couldn't contact anyone.
On the phone, Serene became more outrageous, even fantasizing about Antonio's expression.
"Antonio, I love your expression more than anything, it’s so serious. Those eyes... it’s as if they want to see right through me. You don't know how many nights I've fallen asleep thinking about your face."
Antonio, feeling irritated, loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt, slightly opening his collar. His masculine Adam's apple was exposed, exuding a strong masculine scent.
With the help of the surveillance cameras, Serene saw everything clearly.
She seemed to swallow, softly saying, "You're really nervous, aren't you? Do you know? You look the handsomest when you loosen your tie. Do it again for me to see."
"Serene, that's enough." Antonio was being driven to the brink of madness.
With Sarah on his mind and Serene's harassment in his ear, this experience was far more torturous than actually being tortured by criminals.
"Antonio, you're always so attractive, no matter when or where. If you had obediently married me back then, wouldn't we be the envy of everyone now?"
Serene didn't care whether Antonio was angry or not, she was always perversely fantasizing about this man.
Antonio endured all the way and finally arrived at the foot of South Mountain.
"There's no surveillance around anymore, and there's only this one road up the mountain. If only I could now..."
"Antonio, it's just ten minutes from where you are now to me. You're in a hurry, so it will probably only take you five minutes. But since I like you, I'll give you seven minutes," Serene sneered.
"If I don't see you after seven minutes, I'll throw both father and daughter down the mountain to feed the wolves. You'd better keep track of the time."
Antonio furrowed his brow. Serene had everything planned out.
He had no way of communicating with the outside world. His phone was being monitored, and there were no other tools around him to contact anyone.
Even without the surveillance, he was still at Serene's mercy.
How on earth did Serene manage to do this?!
Who was helping her behind the scenes?!
Antonio's brows were tightly knitted together, and his face looked more terrifying than death.
