Chapter 415 Security Hazards at the Hospital?

Half an hour later, Sarah drove to the hospital.

It had been a while since she came, so she adjusted her appearance in front of the entrance, wanting Kevin to see her in high spirits.

Sarah still cared a lot about Kevin.

But what made her happy was that Kevin hadn't been pestering her to visit him like he used to.

Perhaps his condition had improved?

That was a good thing; she couldn't keep misunderstanding her father forever.

However, thinking about it, Sarah couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

The reason wasn't that Kevin's illness had improved and she felt disappointed. Instead, it was because she realized that once Kevin regained his sanity, her status as his daughter would cease.

In Sarah's heart, Kevin still held a significant place.

And when she called him "Dad", it was filled with sincerity.

This was completely different from being in front of Victor; she hadn't been able to call him "Dad" up until now because it felt awkward.

But it was different with Kevin. Sarah would always feel as if she truly were his daughter.

Collecting herself, Sarah smiled, pushed the door open, placed the nutrition meal she brought on the table, and greeted him affectionately. "Dad, your darling daughter is here!"

However, Kevin didn't respond as enthusiastically as he used to. He merely lifted his eyelids lightly and then lowered his head, as if he hadn't seen her.

"Dad, what's the matter?"

Sarah's heart trembled, and she sat on a chair, gently grasping Kevin's hand.

Kevin once again raised his eyes and gazed deeply at Sarah, "Is it my daughter?"

"Yes, Dad. What's the matter? Do you miss me too much?"

Sarah became a bit anxious. Kevin's current state was obviously not right.

When Sarah last mentioned that she might be busy for a while and wouldn't be able to visit frequently, Kevin urged her to take care of herself.

As she was leaving, he had enthusiastically escorted her to the front door, even suggesting the idea of making video calls.

Initially, Sarah did receive a few video calls from Kevin, but then they stopped.

Sarah didn't think much of it at the time because patients with senile dementia often forgot what they said.

As she observed Kevin seated on the bed, his face pale, lips dry, and energy visibly depleted, he appeared almost unrecognizable to her. It was then that she finally understood that something was amiss.

"So, it's my daughter... My daughter looks like this..." Kevin looked at Sarah a few more times, but it was evident that he was struggling.

"Dad, are you tired? Let's rest for a while." Sarah helped Kevin lie down, feeling a sourness in her heart. "Rest well and have a good meal after you wake up, okay?"

Kevin obediently lay on the bed upon hearing her words and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

After settling everything, Sarah went to find a nurse. "Nurse, what happened to Mr. Jerrett? Why is he in such low spirits? Has his condition worsened?"

The nurse looked a bit confused. "I'm still puzzled about that. According to his condition, even if Mr. Jerrett can't remember things from the past, he shouldn't be so spiritless. But the doctors couldn't find any issues."

"Could it be a problem with the medication?" Sarah asked worriedly.

"Mrs. Valencia, rest assured. There won't be any issues in that regard. Our doctors are very professional."

'That makes sense…'

Sarah continued to ask, "Could it be that there's something improper in the care provided, causing this issue? After all, Mr. Jerrett’s illness is quite sensitive. If problems aren't discovered in a timely manner, he might keep things to himself, and over time, naturally become listless. Even for a normal person, the mind can't bear too much burden."

The nurse shook her head. "This is a private hospital, and there can't be any safety issues here. The doctors are still conducting examinations. Mrs. Valencia, don't worry."

A coldness flickered in Sarah's eyes. 'Safety issues, huh...? It's really hard to say.'
