Chapter 812 The Shadow of the Night

Upon hearing this, she felt relieved, turned around, and went back upstairs. She glanced at the children playing normally and then felt at ease to join the servants in tidying up the guest room.

Since Francis had already returned, he naturally needed to stay.

Antonio went to the study, opened the safe, and took out the documents he had kept for many years to show Francis.

They were about the car accident from years ago. He had kept them as a reminder of how his carelessness had cost him a loved one.

He never expected that one day he would have the chance to show these pieces of evidence to Francis in person.

"Francis, the car was tampered with back then. The cop report is very clear." He opened the file, which included photos from that time.

"That family is no longer around." Antonio's eyes were dark and deep, carrying an unknown dangerous aura.

Even after all these years, seeing these things again made his anger resurface, and his hatred for that family remained undiminished.

The fate that the family met was well-deserved!

Fortunately, Francis had now returned to the Valencia Family in good health.

Francis flipped through the documents page by page, his expression calm. "Since they have already paid the price, there's no point in holding a grudge."

Antonio looked at Francis, finding it hard to imagine the pain he must have endured over the years to be able to let go of the past so completely.

And all of that was never something he should have had to bear.

"Francis."

"Antonio, I have truly let it go." Francis set the documents aside and patted Antonio's shoulder. "Seeing you all well, and Ryan too, what more could I ask for?"

Antonio felt a mix of emotions, with so much to say but not knowing where to start.

He took a deep breath, but accidentally pulled at his surgical wound, causing him to groan and lean back weakly in his chair.

Seeing his pale face, Francis asked with concern, "Antonio, what's wrong?"

'When does Antonio become so weak?' Francis thought.

"Francis, I'm fine." Antonio didn't want Francis to worry, so he didn't mention the surgery. "Maybe I've just been too busy these past few days and haven't rested well."

Francis looked at him disapprovingly. "No matter how busy you are, you need to take care of your health. Go rest immediately."

Just then, Sarah came out of the guest room, smiling. "Francis, the room is ready. Do you want to go rest now?"

"Sarah, you're just in time." Francis pointed at Antonio. "Look at how pale he is. He needs to rest. Tell him to go to bed!"

Sarah was silent.

Her smile froze for a moment. "Ah, okay. Let's go. I was planning to rest too."

To be honest, Sarah had planned to make Antonio sleep in the guest room tonight, given how much he had deceived her!

She had even considered not letting Antonio in at all, but who could have expected Francis to show up suddenly?

And now, Francis was a priority in the family.

So with Francis saying this, Sarah couldn't argue.

After all, Francis's return was a good thing. She couldn't ignore his words on the first day and make Antonio feel awkward.

Antonio had a good idea of what Sarah was thinking and felt secretly pleased, thinking today was a great day!

Not only had he reunited with Francis, but he could also sleep in Sarah's room under Francis's cover!

Antonio knew Sarah well. If it weren't for Francis, she would definitely have kicked him out today!

Feeling delighted, Antonio pushed Francis's wheelchair. "Let's go, Francis. I'll take you to your room first, then I'll go upstairs and sleep with Sarah."

Sarah was silent, thinking Antonio was really something.

Francis pushed Antonio back. "I can manage on my own. You go rest; Sarah is waiting."

At the staircase, Sarah forced a smile. "Yes, I am a bit anxious. Let's go up. Francis, you should rest too."

She turned and went upstairs.

Antonio quickly followed, closing the door behind him with a fawning smile. "Sarah."

"What are you smiling about?" Sarah gave him a cold look and instructed, "Open the sofa bed. I'll sleep on the sofa tonight, and you sleep on the bed."

Antonio frowned instinctively. "You..."

"No objections!" Sarah glared at him and took a blanket from the closet. "Do you think I've forgiven you? I'm only doing this for Francis's sake! If you look worse tomorrow, he'll think I bullied you!"

Antonio had just had surgery, so it was better for him to sleep on the bed.

And the sofa bed was actually quite spacious and comfortable.

Seeing her insistence, Antonio didn't argue.

He obediently opened the sofa bed and thoughtfully arranged the pillows and blanket for her.

After all that, he was sweating.

Sarah felt a bit sorry for him but said, "I'm going to sleep. You go wash up and don't disturb me or the kids!"

She glanced at him to make sure he was okay before lying down.

Antonio watched her for a long time and finally sighed softly.

Sarah was still angry. But her attitude seemed to have softened a bit.

Antonio could only comfort himself with that thought. He tucked her in and went to the bathroom.

Sarah lay with her back to him, relaxing only when she heard him come out of the bathroom and eventually falling asleep.

The night was silent.

But Sarah slept restlessly, not because of the bed but because the baby in her belly wouldn't settle down, constantly moving and making her uncomfortable.

Feeling nauseous and worried that she might actually throw up and disturb Antonio, she quietly got up to get some water.

She was familiar with everything in the villa and used to going downstairs without turning on the lights to avoid waking anyone.

After getting water in the dark, she walked to the living room window and opened it.

The cool breeze helped ease her discomfort.

Sarah stood for a while, feeling much better but no longer sleepy, so she decided to watch a movie.

She could sleep in the living room if she got tired.

Sarah turned to switch on the night light, but to her surprise, she saw a dark figure standing right behind her.
