Chapter 673 The Cunning Man!
'What's going on with Benjamin? Not only did he ditch the engagement party, but also now he's showing up at my house! That's rediculous!' Sarah thought.
Antonio's expression remained unchanged as he said, "The engagement party is canceled, and it won't be rescheduled. I don't have a fiancée."
He only wanted Sarah.
Sarah didn't care and wanted to avoid dealing with him, nor did she want Benjamin in her home!
She clutched the bag in his hand tightly, pushing him out with every word she squeezed out.
"Mr. Harrington, how could we trouble you to cook for us?"
A hint of a smile flashed in Antonio's eyes. Suddenly, he loosened his grip, and the bag ended up in Sarah's hands.
Benjamin said, "Then please bring the groceries inside, Ms. Miller. I'll head to the kitchen to prepare."
Then, he entered first, heading directly to the kitchen as if he were familiar with the location.
Sarah was left speechless.
'Benjamin, you are so shameless!' she cursed inwardly.
She quickly followed him, initially intending to continue driving him out, but she saw Benjamin already tying an apron around his waist and taking down kitchen utensils from the rack with practiced ease, as if he had done it countless times before.
'What is going on here? This is clearly his first time in this place,' she thought.
Sarah stood stunned, a strange feeling slowly blooming within her.
Benjamin turned around and saw her, walked over to take the groceries from her hands, and said softly, "I'll be quick. Just wait patiently, and you'll be able to eat soon."
Despite his casual words, he felt very down inwardly, a sense of guilt he had never experienced before crashing over him.
He realized he had missed out on so much time with the kids.
If he had accompanied them throughout, Sarah would've faced less difficulty and been happier.
Benjamin's gaze lingered on Sarah's swollen belly for a long time. Before the tears in his eyes could spill over, he turned around.
"The kitchen smells. You should wait outside," he said in a deep tone, trying to conceal his emotion.
Sarah didn't know anything yet, but he just wanted things to be like they used to be.
'Did I hear that wrong? Why does his voice sound a bit choked up?' Sarah thought.
Not far away, the kids were also full of curiosity, sneaking glances for a long time before whispering.
"Harper, did you see that? Mr. Harrington was so close to Mommy!"
Harper widened his eyes, nodding in agreement.
"I saw it! Just like..."
The two kids exchanged a look and said in unison, "Just like when Dad was still around!"
In the past, Antonio always found excuses to approach Sarah, wanting to do everything with her together!
Brian, hearing their discussion, scoffed and felt extremely unhappy!
'How could he compare with Antonio? He's just a scheming man!' he cursed inwardly.
Sarah felt helpless about this but had no other solution.
Because Benjamin was just a rogue!
He was tall and strong. If he didn't want to leave, what could Sarah do? Carrying him out?
Moreover, Benjamin was acting weirdly today. Sarah was a bit afraid of provoking him and driving him crazy.
Given the current circumstances within this house, she didn't want to irritate him.
At this moment, Brian, unable to stand Ethan and Harper's chatter, stormed into the kitchen.
Benjamin was wearing gloves and handling a fish. Hearing the footsteps, he turned around to see Brian standing there with a hostile expression.
He smiled kindly, squatted down to be at eye level with him, and asked, "What's wrong, Brian? Is there anything you need?"
He seemed to want to pat Brian's fluffy head, but since his hands had just touched the fish, he retracted it halfway.
Brian took a step back, glaring at him, and asked, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
He had recently discussed a collaboration with Benjamin, and now Benjamin was at their house! Brian was sure Benjamin had ulterior motives!
Benjiamin looked at Brian, clearly sensing his hostility and determination to protect his family, feeling bitter inside.
It wasn't until now that he noticed that in the past few months, Brian had grown a lot taller.
He took off his gloves, and said sincerely, "I really just want to cook a meal for you all. I have no other intentions."
Brian squinted at him, scrutinizing him for a long time before snorting, "You better be. If you're up to my mommy, I'll make sure the Harrington Group goes bankrupt!"
It wouldn't be hard for him.
Just a matter of time!
Benjamin had always known Brian was smart and mature, but at this moment, faced with his confrontation, Benjamin felt only felt heartbroken.
'He's still just a child; he shouldn't have to be so mature. It's all because of me,' Benjamin felt guilty inside.
Due to the absense of his father, Brian had to take on many responsibilities, not only running a company abroad and taking care of Brady but now also dealing with Benjamin, the "bad guy."
But it was also thanks to Brian.
Otherwise, Sarah would have had an even harder time.
Benjamin could no longer control his emotions. He suddenly pulled Brian into a hug, his hands trembling slightly as he patted Brian's back, trying to hold back his tears.
Brian felt bewildered, but somehow, he sensed that the Benjamin hugging him, despite always smiling, seemed to be filled with sadness.
"What are you doing!" Brain shouted.
At this moment, Brian still didn't know that the person hugging him was Antonio, his father.
So his little face turned red with anger, almost exploding!
Benjamin felt his struggle and let go but didn't immediately release his shoulders.
Instead, he thought for a moment and suddenly said, "Brian, believe me. I really don't have any bad intentions towards you all. If you don't believe me, I can immediately give you access to the Harrington Group's internal system. You can access anything you want. What do you say?"
