Chapter 36 Ares Actually Flirts with Sarah
Ares had to zip it and stop grilling them with questions. After giving them the grand tour, he hooked them up with the swankiest suite in the place.
Knowing Antonio was rolling in, Ares went all out and prepped a killer lunch ahead of time. Post-lunch, he threw out an invite to Antonio for a game of pool.
Sarah? Yeah, she couldn't care less about the whole estate. Hearing the two sketchy dudes were gonna shoot some pool, she was stoked to get some alone time and planned to chill in her room.
Out of nowhere, Harper got all hyped. "Pool? Heck yeah, that sounds like a blast. Luna, let's roll with them!"
Sarah's face screamed "no thanks," but Harper gave her a cheeky grin and a pleading look.
Sarah couldn't just let Harper hang with those two creeps solo, so she had to tag along.
In the pool hall, Harper was sipping on some fresh juice, while Sarah sat next to her with a plate of fruit, playing the nanny role to a T.
On the table, there were just three balls: one white, one red, and one yellow. Antonio, on the left, had his usual stern look, while Ares on the other side had a smirk plastered on his face.
Ares grabbed a cue from the wall and shot Antonio a cocky grin, "Yo, Antonio, just a heads up, I've seriously upped my game since last time. If you lose, don't freak out!"
Antonio, not even fazed, casually chalked his cue, "You're the one who always throws a tantrum when you lose."
Ares felt a bit burned by that, "This time, I'm totally gonna crush you!"
He sneaked a glance at Sarah, one side of his mouth curling up, "Luna, who do you think's gonna win?"
When he found out Luna was a nanny, he knew something was fishy. Antonio had hired Luna who looked a lot like Sarah to be Harper's nanny. When he stared at Luna a bit too long, Antonio gave him a stern warning.
Something's definitely up between them!
Sarah just shot Ares a side-eye and kept quiet.
Ares wasn't one to back down. He kept at it, "Root for me. If I win, I'll get you the latest designer bag. Deal?"
Sarah almost rolled her eyes.
She calmly said, "I don't gamble."
"Hey, this ain't gambling!"
Right then, Antonio's annoyed voice cut him off. "Are we playing or what?"
Ares shrugged, took off his sunglasses and hung them on his collar, then scoped out the balls. Finding the right angle, he bent down.
His shirt was unbuttoned a couple of notches, and as he bent over, his chiseled chest muscles were on full display. Facing Sarah, he flashed a smile at her cold expression.
With a sharp "crack," the white ball hit the yellow one, which then ricocheted off the edges three times before nailing the red ball.
Ares seemed to know he'd nailed it and didn't even look at the table. His eyes were locked on Sarah, twinkling.
"So, Luna, am I hot or what? You can still switch teams, you know!"
He squinted and lowered his voice, adding with a playful grin, "I'm not just good at pool; I'm good at other stuff too."
Yeah, he was hot, and his eyes were mesmerizing, but Sarah found him totally gross.
Birds of a feather, right? No wonder Antonio and Ares were tight.
Sarah didn't say a word, but Harper, sitting next to her, frowned, clearly ticked off.
Ares was hitting on Sarah? Harper could tell right away Ares was bad news.
Antonio had to win this!
Ares, feeling the awkwardness, kept playing but soon messed up.
Antonio took his turn, glancing at Sarah before focusing on the table.
Antonio found his spot and bent down, his long, straight legs catching everyone's eye. His left hand pressed on the table, and his right hand gripped the cue. With smooth, controlled movements, his arm muscles flexed, looking like something out of an art gallery.
Harper's eyes went wide, totally glued to the scene. When Antonio nailed a shot, she lit up. "Wow! So cool!"
Antonio's eyes flickered, and without a word, he kept playing. His judgment was on point, his moves were slick, and he didn't miss a single shot.
In the end, Antonio wiped the floor with Ares, who only managed to sink the first two balls. Harper jumped up, clapping like crazy. "We won!"
Over the moon, she ran to Antonio, stretched out her little arms, and bounced on her toes.
Antonio, in a good mood, smiled indulgently, squatted down to pick her up, and she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a big kiss on his cheek!
Antonio was momentarily stunned, but it didn't feel bad at all.
Sarah, on the other side, was also caught off guard, her expression turning a bit complicated.
Harper grinned. "That's your reward!"
Antonio was already a looker, but today he was even more so, and he beat Ares. He totally deserved a reward!
Antonio didn't even realize it, but his lips curled up as he lightly pinched Harper's chubby cheeks.
Ares' voice cut through, laced with some resentment. "It's just a game, not the Olympics. Is it that serious?"
Antonio's gaze darkened. Rising to his feet, he stared coldly at Ares and arrogantly declared, "You lost."
The message was clear: don't be a sore loser.
Ares sneered, lifting his chin. "So what? Let's make it more interesting! If you win the next game, I'll give you 30% of the shares of this estate!"
Sarah, watching the whole scene, couldn't help but think that rich people were really nuts and really bored!
Antonio raised an eyebrow, saying, "Alright, it's a deal."
Unexpectedly, Ares suddenly gave a wicked smile, like his plan had worked. He beckoned, and a female attendant immediately walked over.
The female attendant had a killer figure and a gorgeous face. She wore a seductive smile, high heels, and walked with a sway.
She came to Ares' side, softly calling, "Mr. Morrison," and then placed her hands on his shoulders, practically hanging onto him.
Ares smiled with satisfaction, wrapped his arm around the attendant's slender waist, and provocatively looked at Antonio. "I wasn't talking about our match, I was talking about them!"
He pointed to Sarah and the attendant. "You team up with Luna, I'll team up with her. Two teams, but they hold the cues. We're just here to guide!"
Harper was thrilled to hear this!
Antonio guiding Sarah in playing pool could help them bond. Ares finally did something good!
However, Sarah was very unwilling and quickly refused, "No, I don't know how to play pool!"
Not to mention she didn't want to play with Antonio, with such a big bet, she didn't want to get involved!
In the end, under the insistence of everyone except her, Sarah reluctantly took the cue.
This time, they changed the rules. The female attendant was already an expert and played very well, not needing Ares' help at all.
After pocketing several balls, she finally made a mistake. Ares patted her shoulder in comfort, then raised an eyebrow at Antonio. "Your turn."
Sarah frowned, gripping the cue tightly, feeling at a loss.
At that moment, a broad embrace enveloped her from behind, followed by Antonio's strong arms encircling her in a tight hug.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you," Antonio's deep, pleasant voice came from behind, making Sarah's body stiffen. She instinctively wanted to break free from his embrace.
Antonio tightened his arms, an irresistible force binding her tightly. "Be good, just follow my guidance."
