Chapter 762 Long Time No See, My Wife

"How... how did you pull it off?"

Carter was baffled. How did he manage to get the marriage certificate without her even being there?

Harold yanked her onto the bed, sneering, "Tonight's our wedding night. Quit talking about pointless stuff, Carter. I love you to death!"

But all Carter felt was hatred, fear, and disgust towards him.

Not long after, Carter found out she was pregnant.

She didn't dare do anything, scared Harold would really hurt her family and friends.

Even while she was pregnant, Harold found ways to torment her just to satisfy his twisted desires.

Carter couldn't take it anymore and finally decided to leave.

She pretended to be obedient in front of Harold, even discussed baby names with him and picked out clothes for the baby, acting like she had completely accepted him.

As Harold's guard gradually lowered, Carter finally got her chance.

Carter managed to contact Carol, and hearing the familiar voice on the phone, she almost cried. "Carol, it's me."

During the time she was forced to stay with Harold, she was almost in a state of imprisonment, with no news about her reaching the outside world.

Carol couldn't believe that so much had happened to Carter in just over a year!

She comforted Carter, "Don't worry, I'll find a way to save you! But I'm in Silverbrook now, and I'm already married. My husband is really nice; he'll definitely help us. Carter, hang in there a little longer, I'll come up with a plan!"

Then Carter waited another half month.

Carol told Cynthia about Carter's situation, and the two came up with what they thought was a foolproof plan.

Carter complained that the food made by the servant didn't suit her taste, so Harold fired a servant and let Cynthia infiltrate the Harrington Estate.

She was really good at cooking and wouldn't give herself away.

Then Carol made all the preparations outside.

Things went smoothly. Harold saw Carter becoming more gentle and considerate, and his guard gradually lowered, even withdrawing many of the bodyguards at home.

Carol's husband was named Kevin Jerrett, who was the owner of the Jerrett Group. Carol worked at the Harrington Group so she used his power to create some troublesome issues for the Harrington Group, then Harold had to stay at the company to handle things.

She never told Kevin about this.

Then came the day Carter had been waiting for.

When she and Cynthia walked out of that villa, it felt like escaping from a prison, and she was trembling with excitement.

"Let's go quickly!"

Carol got out of the car to pick her up and hurriedly pulled her into the car.

"That Harold is so cunning; he'll definitely notice something soon. We need to hurry!"

Harold's villa was in the center of the estate, and it took a long time to drive out. Just as they were celebrating Carter's successful escape, a car came crashing towards them from behind.

And the person in that car was exactly Harold!

He had already noticed something was off while at the company, and it turned out he was right!

Usually, at this time, Carter would call him sweetly, and the bodyguards would report Carter's whereabouts.

But today, there was no news at all!

And there happened to be issues at the company that he couldn't leave!

How could it be such a coincidence?

The more Harold thought about it, the angrier he got. He had to find out who was trying to take Carter away and make them pay!

In the car ahead, Carter was extremely nervous, sweating profusely. She asked in a panic, "What do we do? He's catching up!"

"Don't worry," Carol said, gripping her hand tightly. Even though she was scared too, she tried to stay calm. "Quentin's an experienced driver; he'll definitely lose Harold!"

Harold drove like a maniac, smashing into every car in his way.

Just as he was about to catch up, another car suddenly appeared in front of him.

His eyes narrowed dangerously. "Go to hell!"

That car seemed to be trying to block him, occasionally bumping into him.

Harold, enraged, used all his strength to crash into it. The other car flipped over, while his car scraped along the ground, even losing a door!

Harold's hand was pressed against the ground uncontrollably, and his three fingers were severed cleanly by the high-speed impact!

Harold let out a scream, his hands covered in blood!

He was in so much pain he was almost numb, but he had to stabilize the car first. He jerked the steering wheel, and the tires screeched loudly.

The car stopped, causing a chain-reaction crash on the overpass.

Harold didn't care how many people died. He looked in the direction where the car disappeared, his eyes full of gloom.

'Carter, do you really think you can escape? Those who helped you will pay the price!' Harold cursed inside.

Carter escaped with Carol and stayed in a hotel that night.

It wasn't until the next morning that she found out about the massive chain-reaction crash caused by Harold the night before, which even resulted in a car explosion, two dead and one injured.

Carter wondered if Harold had died.

Then she realized that if Harold had died, the media wouldn't be reporting the accident so extensively. All the attention would have shifted to the Harrington Family.

'Why is he still alive? The one who deserves to die the most is him!' Carter cursed.

Carol and Cynthia comforted her for a long time before Carter's agitated emotions calmed down a bit.

A few days later, Carol brought back news.

Harold was seriously injured and lost three fingers.

"So he should be quiet for a while. Don't worry, he won't find this place."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, as long as he couldn't find them.

Once this time passed, Carter could leave Marshall City.

But everyone underestimated Harold's abilities or rather, his obsession with Carter.

Not only did he find Carter's hiding place, but he also discovered everything Carol and Cynthia had done.

Harold wore a pair of black leather gloves, the top-quality material creaking as he clenched the photos in his hand.

A bodyguard couldn't help but utter, "Mr. Harrington."

He curled his lips into a cruel smile. "Let's go, bring Mrs. Harrington home."

At this moment, Carter had no idea that danger was approaching.

She thought Carol and Cynthia had been with her in the hotel for a long time, so she pushed them to go out for a meal. "You guys go eat; you don't have to stay with me all the time."

They had taken such a big risk for her, and she was already very grateful.

Carol reluctantly agreed.

Not long after they left, the hotel room door opened again.

Carter thought it was Carol and Cynthia returning and casually said, "Did you forget to bring..."

The rest of her words froze in her mouth.

Harold waited in the car while two bodyguards brought Carter down.

He looked at Carter, who he hadn't seen for a few days. She looked much better than before, and the smile on his lips became even more sinister. "Long time no see, my dear wife!"
