Chapter 923 You Are So Careless

Sarah didn't know what he was thinking, so she smiled and said, "I'm fine. I'm staying in the hospital because I just had a baby, and I'm here with Antonio. He just had surgery, but he's recovering quickly. We'll be discharged soon."

Before Bob could say anything, Antonio, who was beside her, grabbed her hand and raised it, showing their interlocked fingers, and proudly lifted his head.

Sarah was silent.

Bob was silent.

Bob gave Antonio a cold glance, not hiding his hostility, and sneered, "Mr. Harrington looks quite healthy. Who would have thought he could be so childish? He really does need 'care'!"

His words were full of sarcasm.

In Bob's mind, Antonio was still Benjamin. Although by now, he had almost guessed that their relationship was not that simple, he still didn't want to admit it.

Antonio raised an eyebrow, looking quite proud. "Mr. Morrison, you are right. A man with a wife has the right to be a bit childish. Do you have a problem with that?"

The silent tension between them was palpable, with a sense of hostility ready to erupt. Regardless, both men seemed quite childish.

Sarah sighed, gently squeezed Antonio's palm twice, signaling him to stop, then looked up at Bob, "Bob, thank you for coming to see me. But Antonio is sick and needs care. If he offended you, I apologize on his behalf. But I hope you won't joke about this."

Antonio almost died. It wasn't just his body that was challenged; she was also terrified until now.

She didn't think this was something to joke about.

Bob looked at her, his fingers slightly curling.

Sarah was so obviously speaking up for Antonio, as if afraid he would get hurt.

Although Bob knew she would never like him, why did it still hurt so much now?

A long moment passed, and no one spoke.

Sarah could see his hurt. Bob was still young and couldn't control his emotions well, which was normal. Because of this, she couldn't give him any hope.

She steeled herself and said, "The Morrison Group must be quite busy, right? You've seen me, and I'm fine. You should go back soon."

Then she nudged Antonio beside her and continued, "If you're not busy, Antonio and I can take you out for a meal to thank you for coming all this way to see me."

Antonio nodded, "Indeed, we should thank you for caring about our health."

Bob's hand clenched and then relaxed, his heavy breathing accompanied by pain.

He tried hard to adjust his emotions and forced a smile. "No need, I have an early flight tomorrow."

He just wanted to see her.

Now he saw she was fine and deeply in love with Antonio.

So, he should leave.

Maybe he shouldn't have come at all. Seeing him, Sarah wasn't even a bit excited.

Bob took a deep breath and asked softly, "By the way, where is your child? I came all this way; I should at least see her. I didn't have time to prepare a gift."

Sarah and Antonio exchanged a glance, their brows slightly furrowed. After a while, she spoke, "She's fine. I had a daughter, but we don't have time to take care of her now, so we temporarily sent her abroad with a friend."

This was their public explanation.

The fewer people who knew about Eden's disappearance, the better.

Bob didn't suspect anything and nodded, "Alright then."

Now, he had no reason to stay any longer. He smiled bitterly inside but had to act nonchalant. "Well, you two rest well. I'll head back."

Since everything was out in the open, Sarah didn't try to keep him. "Okay, I'll see you out."

They used to be superior and subordinate. In the future, they could only be distant friends or perhaps business partners, but never anything more.

After seeing Bob off, Sarah returned to the ward to find Antonio with his arms crossed, looking at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you have a big problem? I didn't ask him to come. I was surprised too."

"How could I dare?" Antonio pulled her into a heavy kiss, then kissed her again, sighing, "I just think you're too charming. I'm so lucky to have married you."

"Oh." Sarah pinched his waist lightly, "You seem quite charming too."

Those women kept coming, and now there was even a man.

"Then let's keep a close eye on each other from now on."

The couple hadn't had such a warm moment together in a long time, and they cherished this rare time.

The day passed unknowingly, and in the evening, Antonio had one last check-up to do.

Sarah glanced at him, then looked away, seemingly casually, "Since you have a check-up, I'll go back to my ward. I should get checked too, and I can ask the doctor."

Antonio paused, "Wait, I'll go with you?"

"No need!" She shook her head with a smile, "Can't you stop being so clingy? We're about to go find Eden. We need enough rest. Can I rest well with you around?"

Antonio thought seriously for a moment and found some truth in her words. "True, when I'm with you, I just want to kiss you."

Sarah was silent. He had the nerve to say that.

She pushed him, "Alright! Go on, I'll go back to my ward. Promise me! Stay in your ward and sleep well. Don't come looking for me! We've been together all day!"

Antonio reluctantly kissed her again, "Since you've given the order, I have to obey."

Sarah chuckled and waved him off.

After Antonio turned the corner, her smile faded, and she turned pale, looking weak.

"Mrs. Valencia!" The nurse saw this and quickly came to support her, "Are you alright?"

Sarah cautiously glanced in the direction Antonio left and weakly said, "Help me back to my ward. Don't talk here. Hurry... let's go!"

Earlier, when Saul attacked, she had already strained her surgical wound, but with Antonio around, she couldn't show it. She had endured it all day.

Back in the ward, the nurse quickly called the attending doctor for a check-up. "Mrs. Valencia... you are so careless!"
