Chapter 640 I Won't Be Absent!
Sarah, feeling helpless, simply snatched the phone away. "Brian, it's Mommy."
Brian's voice immediately softened as he said, "Mommy, are you two together?"
His big eyes squinted slightly. Realizing the matter Alex had been hesitant to bring up was about Mommy.
"Yes." Sarah knew she couldn't fool him, so she helplessly glanced at Alex, saying, "I ran into Uncle Alex outside, what a coincidence!"
Sarah smiled awkwardly, but Brian wasn't about to let it go and asked several sharp questions.
Sarah sighed slightly and eventually told him everything, knowing it was useless to hide it.
With Brian's abilities, he could easily find out that Antonio's body had been found, and the company's issues were all over the domestic news.
After hearing the whole matter, Brian remained silent for a long time, his little face growing more and more tense.
He never expected that someone dared to bully Sarah while he was away!
And now that Antonio had been found...
Brian's heart ached; he couldn't imagine how Sarah had managed to get through it all.
Even though Sarah tried to downplay everything, Brian could still clearly sense her sadness.
He was furious.
"That Benjamin really thinks he can control the situation!"
His eyes reddened slightly as he tried to suppress his anger. "Mommy, wait for me. I'm applying for a flight route right now and will be back by your side soon!"
He decided to return home immediately with Brady.
Benjamin better watch out!
After exchanging some heartfelt words, Sarah felt it was getting late and said, "Since you've decided to come back, I won't say anything more, but take care of yourself and stay safe on the way."
"Okay, Mommy." Brian was still worried and said,"Take good care of yourself too."
Sarah smiled and promised before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone.
She handed the phone back to Alex, annoyed. "See, are you satisfied now?"
Alex scratched his head with a smile, his eyes flickering. "I didn't want to say anything, but Brian is so smart, he could sense something was wrong."
Given Sarah's current situation, pretending to be strong wouldn't work. With Brian's help, things should get a lot better.
In the hotel room, after finishing his call with Harold, Benjamin was lost in thoughts about the past and unknowingly started to get a headache.
He rummaged through his suitcase for a bottle of pills, poured a few into his mouth, and gulped down a large amount of water.
Whatever had happened would eventually come to light; it was just a matter of time.
He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.
The medication took effect quickly, and soon drowsiness set in. Benjamin glanced at the time, set an alarm, pulled up the covers, and fell asleep in no time.
But he never expected to have such a dream.
In the dream, he and Sarah were married.
The feeling was surreal, yet it seemed to be happening right before his eyes.
Benjamin and Sarah lived in that villa, surrounded by adorable children, living a happy and joyful life together.
In the morning, a clear voice reached his ears.
But he couldn't quite hear what name Sarah was calling him.
"You promised to take kids out today, get up!"
He opened his eyes, and the sunlight streaming through the window perfectly highlighted the delicate features of the face in front of him, even the fine hairs on her face were visible.
Benjamin raised his hand to grasp her wrist and gave a gentle tug.
Sarah let out a surprised yelp and the next moment, she fell onto the bed, giving him a playful glare. "What are you doing? You're a grown man and still want to stay in bed!"
He didn't say anything, just pulled the Sarah he had longed for into his arms, resting his chin on her shoulder, and said in a husky voice, "Yes, I want to stay in bed."
It was a bit of a playful act.
Sarah pushed his head slightly, but her tone was soft, "If Harper and the others see this, they'll definitely laugh at you."
Benjamin felt a sense of happiness filling his chest, as if he was holding the entire world in his arms. He nuzzled her neck gently, "Give me a kiss, and I'll get up."
Sarah, half-laughing and half-crying, said, "You're less sensible than kids!"
Harper and the others had stopped being this clingy since they turned three.
Without moving, he just gazed at her lips. She chuckled and lightly pecked him, "Can you get up now?"
Benjamin curved his lips into a smile and suddenly, as if by magic, pulled out a watch. He took her wrist and skillfully put it on, "I got you the starry sky watch you like."
Sarah raised her hand, the deep blue dial really resembling the night sky, with diamonds sparkling in the sunlight. The unique design was eye-catching and genuinely surprising.
She looked at it seriously for a while, then suddenly leaned in and kissed him again.
"Thank you, I really like it."
Benjamin was feeling quite pleased, but before he could do anything, he heard giggling from the doorway.
Ethan and Harper were covering their faces with their hands, peeking through the gaps between their fingers. Even after being caught, they didn't leave immediately, looking both excited and embarrassed.
Harper said, "So shy! Mommy is kissing Daddy first thing in the morning!"
Ethan then said, "We're probably going to have a little brother or sister soon!"
Sarah hadn't expected Harper and Ethan to catch them in such a moment, and she was extremely embarrassed. Her face turned as red as a ripe apple.
Benjamin placed his hand on the back of her head, gently pressing her into his chest a bit more, and looked at the two little ones at the door with a smile. "You two go out first, or Mommy will be shy."
Though his voice was gentle, Harper and the others knew that Daddy's words were not to be disobeyed. They nodded obediently and turned to leave, even closing the door behind them.
"Harper and Ethan are gone."
He moved back a bit, looking at Sarah's teary eyes, and couldn't help but kiss her lips again, his voice indulgent. "We've been married for so long, and you're still so shy!"
Sarah pretended to be calm as she looked at him, "No, I'm not!"
She then wriggled out of his arms and got out of bed. "Hurry up! Kids have been waiting for a long time."
Benjamin didn't intend to tease her any further, "As you command, my dear wife."
Sarah feigned calmness, giving him a stern look, but couldn't hide the smile creeping up on her lips.
When the two of them came downstairs, Harper and the others acted as if nothing had happened. Harper happily ran over with open arms and said, "Daddy, carry me!"
"Alright, come here."
Benjamin smiled as he picked up Harper, holding Ethan's hand with his other hand.
Sarah watched the scene with a smile, walking ahead to open the door, "You better not spoil them. What if they refuse to walk on their own when you're not around?"
He replied, "Nonsense, I won't be absent!"
