Chapter 729 Human Skin Mask
Otis just stood there, not saying a word.
What else could he do?
He just stepped back, giving them some space.
Sarah was still checking him out, leaning in to inspect his neck for any marks. She looked up and asked, "You've been rocking this mask for two days. Feeling any discomfort?"
"Nope." Aaron gave an awkward smile, "Mrs. Harrington, how about you let me finish using it first, then you can take it back for a deep dive?"
Sarah shook her head, saying, "It's easier to see the details when it's on!"
Antonio, standing nearby, was super jealous and said firmly, "Alright! If you got more questions, just hit me up."
After saying that, he shot them a glare, "Aren't you leaving? Aren't you worried your girlfriend Margaret will get impatient?"
He really stressed the word "girlfriend," like he was saying it for someone specific to hear.
"Yeah, Mr. Harrington. Later, Mrs. Harrington! I'm off to see Margaret now!" Aaron said.
Otis, seizing the moment, chimed in, "I... I'll go with Aaron!"
They both made a quick exit.
Sarah watched them rush off, both amused and a bit exasperated, then turned to the jealous Antonio in front of her, teasing, "Was that really necessary? I just wanted to check out that mask."
Antonio pointed to his face, retorting, "Am I not as good-looking as that mask?"
What a ridiculous argument!
Sarah plopped down on the sofa, holding her belly, saying, "But I really didn't expect you to find such a mask. It's crazy lifelike!"
Even though she was sure she could recognize Antonio, she was still momentarily thrown off when she saw Aaron.
It also showed that Antonio had been planning this for a while.
Antonio turned around and poured her a glass of water, explaining, "I put a lot of effort into it."
Sarah didn't push further and thought for a moment before saying, "So what's the plan now? Are we staying here?"
She felt that after last night's talk, Antonio shouldn't be hiding anything from her anymore.
Seeing her concern, Antonio gave her a reassuring look and said, "Don't worry, I said I wouldn't hide anything from you, and I mean it. Since Harold already thinks that guy is me, he'll definitely let his guard down."
Even though Harold was full of schemes, he was also arrogant.
He must be thinking everything about "Antonio" was under his control.
Antonio added, "So we need to catch him off guard right now."
Harold was still in the Capital City, but his main base was always in the South.
Now, with Aaron grabbing Harold's attention, the real Antonio could take this chance to head back to the country with Sarah without being noticed.
And now was the perfect time to wreck his stronghold.
Sarah quickly caught on, asking, "So we're heading back to the country?"
"Yep." he nodded.
"When?"
Antonio reached out and pulled her into his arms, saying, "Tonight."
"So soon?" Sarah looked up at him, asking, "You're not planning to ditch me and do something dangerous again, are you? Antonio, I'm telling you, that's not happening!"
They had just reunited; she couldn't handle another separation.
Antonio pressed his lips tightly together, not immediately agreeing.
He originally didn't plan to take Sarah, considering the unknown dangers of this trip.
Seeing his face, Sarah knew right away and shot up, yelling, "Antonio! You really planned to do that, didn't you? No way! I don't agree!"
He admitted, "Sarah, I don't know if there will be any danger."
She pushed, "So what if there's danger? Does that mean you have to face it alone?"
Thinking about the last explosion, Sarah's eyes instantly teared up. "Don't think I don't know. You must be hiding something from me! I... I don't want to see the same thing happen again! What if you lose your memory again? What if you..."
She couldn't finish her sentence.
But for her now, even if something happened to Antonio, she wanted to be with him, rather than waiting around like a fool!
She'd had enough of endless waiting!
Those days were hopeless, just like the past few months when Sarah felt like she was living without a soul!
Antonio looked at her tightly pressed lips, feeling both panicked and anxious.
But in the end, he swallowed all the words he wanted to say and pulled her into a tight hug, comforting, "Alright, you'll come with me. No matter what happens, we won't be separated."
Sarah couldn't help but shed tears. "Okay."
For the rest of the day, they didn't leave the hotel.
Antonio contacted Otis again, asking him to bring over the previously prepared human skin masks.
Sarah was surprised, asking, "You have more human skin masks? Like the one that guy was wearing?"
"Yep."
Antonio put away his phone and sat down beside her.
He added, "When I had the masks made, I had them prepare four. Now that we're going back, isn't it just the right time to use them?"
Sarah suddenly got it.
She had to admit that Antonio was sometimes very foresighted. "So, according to you, is there a 'Sarah' in the country now?"
Antonio tapped her nose, praising, "Right."
Sarah was officially declared to be in the hospital for treatment, so they just needed someone to lie in the hospital bed, no matter how Harold's people investigated.
Sarah immediately understood.
No wonder they had been out for so long, and Harold hadn't noticed anything unusual. He should have had someone watching her.
Turns out Antonio had already prepared!
Antonio was amused by her incredulous expression and said dotingly, "Alright, you should rest for a bit. The flight tonight is long, and I'm afraid you won't sleep well."
Sarah was indeed a bit tired and nodded, "Okay."
She turned and lay down on the bed, watching Antonio go to the balcony to make a call. Their eyes met unintentionally, and the gentle smile in his eyes made her heart feel full. She hugged the blanket and quickly fell asleep.
She slept until the afternoon, and it was already near dusk outside.
"Awake?" Antonio asked dotingly as he had been sitting by the bed, watching her. He gently brushed away the hair from her forehead, coaxing, "Sarah, get up now. We'll be heading to the airport soon."
Staring at him for a moment, Sarah stretched and murmured, "I feel like I'm dreaming."
Her murmured words were kissed away by Antonio, who then released her, saying, "It's not a dream."
Sarah blinked and propped herself up on her arms, asking, "Where are the human skin masks you mentioned? Should we put them on now?"
