Chapter 755 Sarah's Sudden Inspiration!

Antonio squinted at the doctor and the guy. "But I have conditions. Only the three of us know about this. If a fourth person finds out..."

He trailed off with a cold laugh. "You can imagine the consequences."

The chill in his voice made the two men shiver.

The guy quickly said, "Don't worry, I won't say a word!"

The doctor, knowing Antonio wasn't someone to mess with, kept his mouth shut too.

So, a woman on the brink of death quietly moved into Sarah's ward. Besides the attending doctor and her family, no one else knew.

After leaving the hospital, Antonio headed to the office. As soon as he got there, he shot Sarah a message about his schedule for the day.

Sarah had just woken up when she saw it and replied with a video call.

Antonio answered, a smile in his eyes. "Why are you up so early?"

Hearing his voice, Sarah felt a warm glow inside. She lay back down, her voice sweet. "Because I wanted to see you. I missed you all night."

Antonio's heart skipped a beat, his Adam's apple bobbing. He had no defense against Sarah's tenderness.

"I knew you'd miss me." He sounded a bit proud, his eyes twinkling. "Guess who I met this morning?"

Would Sarah get jealous? The thought excited him.

Sarah raised an eyebrow, curious. "Who?"

"I just went to the hospital to see Isabella." Antonio raised an eyebrow, watching her reaction. "Want to know what we talked about?"

Sarah rolled her eyes. "If you don't want to tell me, then forget it!"

Given how things had turned out with Isabella, no matter how jealous she was, she wouldn't overthink their relationship.

Antonio sighed, a bit disappointed she didn't react as he expected. But he still told her about their conversation.

"That's good." Sarah didn't really dislike Isabella and said, "I hope she can come to terms with it."

"Yeah," Antonio replied and then told her about the couple he met downstairs. "I let them stay in your ward. We have people in the hospital watching. If Harold makes a move, we'll know."

Sarah felt a bit sad hearing this. She turned over and said, "We were in such a tough spot back then too."

Both of them fell silent, thinking about the past.

"Since you've already helped, you should help them to the end. See if they need anything else and take care of them." Sarah's voice was a bit distant.

She wished someone had helped her back then and told her that Antonio wasn't dead. In her eyes, having hope was always better than being filled with despair. It was indeed true.

Antonio gently touched the screen with his fingertip and agreed, "I will."

Seeing Sarah's low spirits, he changed the subject. "It's still early. Cynthia is probably still asleep. Why don't you sleep a bit more, okay?"

Sarah shook her head, smiling. "I can't sleep."

"Want me to lull you?"

"Okay."

Antonio smiled indulgently, his deep voice whispering in her ear like a soothing current. Sarah felt her eyelids getting heavier and didn't even realize when she fell asleep.

Once he was sure Sarah was asleep, Antonio hung up the phone.

He spent the day at the company, tackling a mountain of work. In the evening, he got a message from Isabella. She said she had made up her mind and wanted to meet him at the hospital.

Antonio grabbed his keys and drove to the hospital.

As soon as he got in the elevator, he remembered what Sarah had said earlier and decided to check on the couple in the ward, pressing the floor button.

Meanwhile, in Sarah's hospital room, Isaac Martinez was by the bedside, talking to Audrey Adams, who was lying in bed. Suddenly, her breathing became rapid, and her eyes bulged.

She struggled and suffered, but before she could make a sound, the monitor emitted a piercing alarm.

The heart monitor slowly turned into a straight line.

"Audrey, don't scare me!" Isaac shouted, his heart aching, and he had a bad feeling.

He didn't waste any time and quickly ran out to call the doctor.

Almost as soon as he left, a man in a white coat cautiously entered the room, holding something in his pocket.

The dim light obscured Audrey's face, covered by her hair.

She lay motionless, without even a breath.

The man, sent by Harold to take Sarah's life, squinted at her figure.

But the person in the bed looked like they were already dying, making his task redundant.

The man sneered silently, not doubting the person's identity. He took a syringe from his pocket and injected it into the IV line.

Just then, Antonio pushed open the door and saw the scene.

"Stop!" Antonio yelled, his eyes hardening, and he punched the man in the head.

The man, caught off guard, wobbled and then collapsed.

Antonio glanced coldly at him, then turned to the half-injected syringe, quickly stopping it and removing the needle from Audrey's hand.

The drug hadn't entered her system, but that wouldn't make much difference.

Antonio looked at the monitor and sighed, hoping Isaac wouldn't be too heartbroken.

Then he thoughtfully looked at the man on the ground, his eyes narrowing.

Just as he was about to squat down to check, Sarah's call came through.

She had taken a nap and sounded a bit groggy.

Antonio replied, "Sarah, I'm at the hospital."

"Seeing your ex-fiancée again?" Sarah joked.

Antonio, feeling helpless, told her about Isabella's request to meet and what had just happened in the ward.

"Harold is really ruthless, daring to kill someone in a hospital!" Sarah said, a bit scared. "Are you sure that patient wasn't harmed?"

Antonio paused and said, "She wasn't harmed, but she was already..."

He thought for a moment and said, "The poison wasn't injected. The patient is still the same as before."

"That's good."

Sarah felt uneasy, reminding him, "If there's a chance she could recover, have someone protect her. I'm afraid..."

"Don't worry about it. Take care of yourself. I'll handle things here." Antonio's voice was gentle, comforting her. "The person Harold sent is unconscious. Whether he tells the truth or not, Harold won't dare to act rashly for now."

"Okay." Sarah responded, then after a long silence, she slowly said, "Actually, I have an idea."
