Chapter 92 How Many Kids Did Sarah Actually Have?

Back at the villa, Sarah was totally wiped out, both physically and mentally.

"Harper, Mommy's gonna take a bath. You head to your room, okay?"

Harper nodded like a good kid, and Sarah shuffled off to the bathroom, craving a hot soak to chill out.

Harper watched her mom's tired figure, her little face scrunched up with worry.

Man, Sarah was still super bummed. Antonio really messed things up this time!

If Sarah got mad and decided to bail with her, her dream of a happy family would be toast!

Harper stomped her foot in frustration and decided to hunt down Antonio in the study.

But before she got there, she bumped into Ryan in the hallway, who was also on his way to see Antonio.

Ryan had been chilling at home, reading, and hit a snag. When he heard Antonio was back, he figured he'd go chat with him.

Seeing Harper, his eyes lit up, and he walked over.

But Harper just glanced at his book, kept a poker face, and brushed past him like he wasn't even there.

Ryan opened his mouth to say hi, but the words got stuck. He just followed Harper to the study.

They peeked through the door and saw Antonio standing by the window, looking all moody.

Even with his back to them, it was clear Antonio was in a bad place.

Harper stared at Antonio for a few seconds and decided to go in. But just as she took a step, Ryan pulled her back.

"Dad's in a bad mood. Let's not bug him," Ryan whispered, leading her away.

Harper squinted and snapped, "Let go of me."

She yanked her hand free, frowning, and put her hands on her hips. "You can't hold my hand."

Brain and Ethan had told her not to let other boys hold her hand!

Plus, he was Lisa's kid, and she couldn't stand Lisa!

Ryan looked at the angry Harper, totally clueless about why she was mad.

He scratched his head and smiled awkwardly. "I'm older than you so I'm sorta a brother to you too."."

Harper got even more ticked off.

"No way. I'm not your sister. I have my own brother!"

Just then, the study door swung open, and Antonio stepped out, catching Harper's last words.

Antonio frowned, his voice low, "What did you say?"

Harper had a brother?

Did that mean Sarah had more than one kid?

Harper's small body trembled, realizing she had slipped up. She held her breath, her big eyes wide.

Panicking, she made a face and bolted.

Ryan blinked, totally confused by Harper's antics.

Antonio's gaze darkened as he watched her run off, suspicion growing.

The next day, Harper woke up super early. She couldn't sleep, so she wandered into the garden.

After thinking it over, she decided to call Ethan and spill the beans about what happened yesterday.

"Ethan," Harper's soft, upset voice came through, and Ethan's usually chill face showed a hint of worry. "What's up, Harper? Did the bad dad mess with you again? Spill, and I'll go set him straight!"

Harper knew Ethan would really show up, so she quickly denied it, "No! Listen to me first. Yesterday, the guy Brian sent to talk business with the bad dad showed up. It was Alex!"

Ethan's face lit up with surprise, his voice losing its usual coolness. "For real?"

"Yeah," Harper replied, but thinking about yesterday, she sighed deeply. "But the bad dad and Alex don't seem to get along, and yesterday the bad dad made Mommy mad again. He didn't even make it up to me."

Even though he couldn't see her, Ethan could picture Harper's little face full of hurt. His voice softened. "Harper, don't stress. I actually think Brian's plan is spot on."

Alex was not only good-looking and classy but also took great care of them, so Ethan had always liked Alex.

He often thought that if Mommy could be with Alex, it would be awesome.

"Harper, think about it. The bad dad won't divorce and let Mommy go. Alex showing up now can help Mommy ditch the bad dad and make him pay for what he's done. It's a win!"

Actually, there was one more thing he didn't mention. Even if Antonio passed the third level, he wouldn't get any benefits.

Brian would never genuinely team up with Antonio; it was all about getting back at Sarah.

What awaited Antonio would be even harsher lessons!

Ethan already had various scenarios in his mind. The thought of Antonio realizing he had been completely played, with a mix of rage and helplessness on his face, was pretty amusing to him.

Ethan rarely laughed so happily and continued, "I like Alex. I hope he and Mommy can be together. Alex can definitely make Mommy happy, unlike the bad dad, who only makes Mommy sad and almost killed her."

At this point, Harper suddenly went quiet.

She lowered her little head, pouting sadly, like a deflated balloon.

Alex was great, but she still hoped Antonio and Sarah could get back together.

Because Alex and Sarah were just friends, and Antonio was her real dad, he was irreplaceable.

She didn't dare tell Ethan this because she knew his hatred for Antonio was too strong.

So Harper just responded casually and didn't say much more before hanging up the phone.

Harper sighed and turned to go back to her room when she saw a small figure.

She froze, her big eyes filled with intense hostility as she stared at Ryan, who was watching her from the side.

Harper snapped, "When did you get here? Why are you eavesdropping on my call? Oh, I know, you must be spying on us for your bad mom!"

Ryan looked innocent, blinking his eyes. "What are you talking about? Spying? I don't get it."

He had just come downstairs for a drink of water and happened to see Harper in the garden through the window, so he came out to find her.

She was so cute and pretty, like a doll, and she looked a lot like Ethan, who had saved him at the restaurant last time.
