Chapter 480 Heartache

Antonio felt as if his heart ache, as if it had been cruelly pierced by a sword.

He couldn't... How could he possibly not want Sarah? But he had indeed done something that broke Sarah's heart.

Antonio's gaze appeared almost shattered, tragically unable to provide any defense.

“Are you really… determined to leave?" he asked.

Sarah looked at Antonio quietly and nodded, "Yes."

Brady was now in a coma, and seeking treatment abroad was the only chance he had to wake up. Sarah couldn't give up this chance for anyone's sake.

“Antonio, let it go. I’m truly exhausted,” she said, "Let's just consider it fate. We've been entangled for so many years, and we’re still going back and forth until now. This only shows how unsuitable we are for each other. We are both adults, so let's not dwell on this anymore."

Antonio’s lips turned pale, and his eyes momentarily went hollow as he gripped Sarah’s shoulders tightly, his fingertips turning slightly white from the force.

"I've said I never thought of betraying you. Do I really need to rip my heart out to prove it to you?" he pleaded.

Sarah found his words somewhat laughable and pushed Antonio away with a wave of her hand. “You can’t even control your own desires, yet you talk about baring your heart to me?”

Antonio was utterly defeated, his gaze losing focus.

In these days, he and Sarah had exhausted every possible conversation, yet the outcome remained unchanged. She was still set on leaving him...

Sarah looked at the ring in her hand as a wry smile tugged at her lips. She walked slowly to the window and looked down at the grass below. "Antonio, let's put an end to this,” she said.

Lifting her hand, she cast the ring, a source of heartache, straight out of the window—

The ring disappeared into the grass, and Sarah’s expression remained calm yet resolute.

Antonio's gasped, and then he frantically ran to the window, but it was too late. The ring, along with Sarah's love, was gone.

Antonio turned around, his hands trembling and his eyes bloodshot. His breathing slowed down and he asked gingerly, "Sarah, how could you be so heartless?"

Sarah didn’t speak; she just quietly looked at him.

As they locked gazes, Antonio's mind was filled with thoughts of keeping her, but each one cruelly told him: you're going to lose her.

Sarah said, “Antonio, please leave. I will come to take the children later. Take good care of them for now.”

Antonio snapped back to reality and bit down hard on his teeth as a voice repeated in his head, ‘No! I can't let her go! I absolutely cannot let her leave!’

He stepped forward and pressed his large hands down on her shoulders. Giving her no chance to react, he pressed her against the wall.

Sarah, looking at Antonio’s now frightening expression, felt a panic rising within her, and the wall at her back was painfully cold.

"Antonio, what are you doing?!" Sarah exclaimed.

“Sarah, don’t go... Don’t leave me behind. I need you! I love you! Please don’t leave me... I will never let you leave me!” Antonio declared as he fiercely pulled Sarah into a tight embrace.

"Antonio, have you lost your mind? Let me go!" Sarah cried out, struggling to free herself. But Antonio's strength was overwhelming. He was almost suffocating her.

“No way!” Antonio tightened his grip on Sarah’s shoulders, pinning her wrists down with a terrifying ferocity in his eyes. “You can’t leave me; I won’t allow it! I won’t allow you to leave!”

Sarah trembled with shock and terror. When had Antonio become like this? No, it wasn't a change; he had been like this when she first came back. Over five years, his personality had already shifted. It was only during their reconciliation that Antonio, in an effort to win her over, had suppressed his true nature.

But now, with their buffer torn away, Antonio's true personality was revealed again. Sarah thought she had changed Antonio but it turned out to be all an illusion. She couldn't change anything, not their relationship, nor Antonio.

Antonio forcefully kissed Sarah repeatedly, his eyes filled with a frightening intensity that scared her.

Sarah, trying to suppress her panic, spoke in as gentle a tone as she could muster, "Antonio, let me go first. We can talk this through, okay?"

“You won’t talk to me; you just want to leave me!” Antonio said, lowering his head to for another kiss on her.

Sarah’s voice trembled not with shyness but with fear. Despite her fear, she embraced Antonio and soothingly stroked the back of his head. "Okay, I get it, you don't want me to go. I will seriously reconsider the matter of going abroad. Pease don't do this. If there really is another solution, I don't actually want to leave either."

Antonio, mollified by Sarah's gentle words, immediately lifted his head and asked eagerly, "Really? Do you really feel that way?"

"Yes. So, there's no need for you to be like this."

Sarah nodded. “I’ll talk to the doctor again tomorrow. It’s getting late, and the kids are still at home. Could you please go back and check on them for me? I’m really worried about them.”

Antonio nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay. As long as you don't go, as long as you don't leave me, I'll do whatever you ask. I'll go back now, you just wait for me here! I'll come to see you again tomorrow!"

With that, Antonio put his coat on Sarah and then left the hospital.

Sarah took a deep breath, feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally. Antonio’s reaction this time only solidified her determination to leave…

As Antonio walked out of the hospital, his steps gradually slowed.

Before even getting into his car, he immediately called James. "Send more people, surround the hospital, and closely monitor all of Sarah's movements. Report any abnormalities to me immediately."

James did as instructed without delay.

After finalizing all the arrangements, Antonio remained seated in his car for an extended period, gazing blankly outside, unable to quiet his mind.

Sharp pains pierced his heart, making it feel as though he were on the verge of suffocation.

Suddenly, as if recalling something important, he abruptly burst out of the car—
