Chapter 654 Bad Man!

Even though Brian didn't really get what was going on with the adults, he still paid attention to what Sarah was saying.

Moreover, Alex and Sofia were close to him, so he would naturally give his blessings.

"So, what should we do?"

"Well." Sarah pondered. "let's just wait for them to show up and see how it goes!"

After saying that, she quickly sent a message to Alex, telling him it was urgent and he needed to come back ASAP.

Alex showed up pretty quickly.

He didn't even glance at the romantic setup in the room; he just looked straight at Sarah and Brian. "Mr. Miller, is there some work issue we need to handle? Sorry, my phone was on silent, so I missed the call."

There was a work issue, sure.

But since Sarah had already spoken up, Brian naturally put Sofia's happiness first.

He looked over at Sarah, and she took the cue. "I asked you to come. Look at how nicely this room is decorated. Are you just going to let it go to waste?"

Alex instantly understood what she meant.

He smiled wryly. "Some people don't appreciate it."

Sarah sighed. "You know Sofia's temper. Her emotions come and go quickly, and what she said is also unintentional. Since you truly love each other, why let your feelings go to waste?"

Alex's eyes were filled with pain and struggle, his hands clenched tightly.

"Look at Antonio and me," Sarah said with a bitter smile, not wanting them to miss out because of these trivial issues. "We went through so many misunderstandings and setbacks, but we still made it through."

"It's just that when I wanted to cherish it, it was already too late."

Perhaps moved by her words, Alex closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

He understood everything Sarah said.

No one was more reluctant to let Sofia go than he.

And he didn't want Sarah and Brian to worry about his emotional issues.

So he nodded. "Okay, I get what you mean."

Seeing him like this, Sarah felt relieved and led Brian to sit on the nearby sofa. "Actually, Sofia will be here soon. You two can have a real conversation."

Alex was startled, and before he could say anything, the sound of high heels came from outside the door.

Sofia stood at the door for a moment, her hand unconsciously tightening around the strap of her bag. Finally, she entered the password and pushed the door open.

"Sarah, what's going on?"

She had just called out when she was stunned by the scene before her.

The room was filled with pink roses, her favorite flower, along with balloons and lights, creating a romantic atmosphere.

It was just as she had told Alex before.

At this moment, Sarah and Brian walked out from the side. "Sofia, happy birthday."

Sofia smiled, then noticed Alex standing nearby.

Her smile immediately froze.

She really missed Alex, but seeing him reminded her uncontrollably of the scene a few days ago when he coldly accused her.

Sofia bit her tongue and asked Sarah, "What's going on? Didn't we agree to meet at my place tonight? You called me over, saying there was an urgent matter?"

Seeing the smile disappear from Sofia's face, Sarah felt a sense of foreboding.

Didn't Sofia feel touched by what Alex had done?

"Well..."

She smiled and gave Alex a meaningful look. "Alex prepared a birthday surprise for you. Doesn't that count?"

Sofia glanced coldly at Alex, then quickly looked away without any emotion. "I've had enough surprises for today. I don't need any more."

She had thought something had happened to Alex, so she rushed over.

But not only was he fine, but also he had conspired with Sarah to deceive her.

Although Alex had mentally prepared, he was still hurt by her attitude.

The words he had prepared to say were swallowed back down.

He almost couldn't control his anger, and with a cold smile, he said, "Sarah, I told you, she doesn't care!"

Sarah was speechless

Before she could speak, Sofia immediately retorted.

"Yeah! There are a lot of people want to celebrate my birthday! These flowers and balloons are nothing special. I don't know what kind of person would come up with this!"

Alex's veins bulged with anger. "Did you come here just to argue with me?"

Sofia sneered. "You called me."

Sarah was shocked.

She felt like a sandwich cookie caught in the middle, not knowing what was going on with these two. Whenever they were together, they would argue at the slightest provocation.

"Calm down, both of you!"

Her shout successfully stopped the arguing pair, who both turned to look at her.

Sarah took a deep breath. "I wanted you to sit down and talk calmly. If you prefer to solve problems by arguing, then go ahead! I'm done! You're both adults, don't make a fool of yourselves in front of Brian!"

With that, she quickly pulled Brian away.

Sarah knew Sofia well. She could bet that even though Sofia was so angry just now, she was definitely waiting for Alex to coax her!

Look at how Sofia's eyes were glued to Alex the moment she walked in. Did she really want to celebrate her birthday with Sarah?

Being a good friend means guessing the words she doesn't say!

Hearing the heavy door slam, the two people in the room snapped back to reality.

But only for a moment.

Sofia was even angrier!

Alex, that jerk, had the nerve to argue with her in front of Sarah instead of making things right!

Did he not care about her feelings?
