Chapter 937 He Wants to Play for Thrills
Bob nodded earnestly. "Yeah, my dad treated you like a brother, so you're like family to me. I can't stand seeing you struggle anymore."
"Here's the deal: I'll give you enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life. You can move to the countryside or another city with your family."
Cody's lips trembled, opening and closing without uttering a word.
Bob was kicking him out.
But now, Bob had the final say in the entire Morrison Family. If he said this, it meant he had already made up his mind, leaving no room for negotiation.
All Cody could do was let out a deep sigh, as if he had aged several years in an instant. "Since you've already arranged everything, Mr. Morrison, I'll follow your orders."
But it meant he could no longer watch over the Morrison Family for his old friend.
"Mr. Morrison, without me around, you must think twice before acting. I believe the Valencia Family will thrive under your leadership."
Bob responded dismissively, "Alright, I've heard it all before. If there's nothing else, Cody, go pack your things and handle the company handover."
He had a new plan to set in motion for Sarah!
From that day on, Bob began personally taking care of Nia, learning from the nanny day and night. His meticulous care shocked the household staff.
Una was both surprised and touched, feeling that adopting this child was the right decision. It seemed like fate had brought them together!
Even her son had become so responsible!
"Mom, if you're bored, you can go shopping or have tea with your friends. Leave Nia to me. I promise I'll take better care of her than I do myself."
Bob gently pushed Una out of the nursery. "You've already had a hard time raising me. How can I let you continue to work so hard?"
Una was overjoyed by his words.
Bob's expression, however, was inscrutable.
With Nia always by his side, she would naturally become closest to him. And Sarah...
He smirked, feeling pleased as he took out his phone and sent Sarah a message on Facebook: [Sarah, how are you feeling? Have you recovered a bit?]
Sarah received the message just as she got out of the car.
The family they had been searching for in Suncrest City had gone abroad for the birth, with all the necessary documents in order, so it wasn't their Eden.
But perhaps they had grown accustomed to disappointment. The couple quickly adjusted and returned to Avaloria.
A few days ago, they received a message from a man who claimed to have detailed information about Eden.
Just as they arrived at their hotel, Bob's message came through.
To be precise, his messages had been non-stop these past few days.
Sarah opened Facebook and scrolled through the numerous messages of concern.
She hadn't replied to a single one!
Didn't he get the hint?!
Antonio, carrying their luggage, noticed her troubled expression and asked, "What's wrong, honey?"
"Nothing... just some spam messages these past few days."
Not wanting him to worry, Sarah made up an excuse. "Let's go."
Juan Stewart they were meeting was in his forties, dressed in a suit, looking like a businessman. He greeted Antonio and Sarah with a somewhat apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Valencia. I didn't realize the baby I found was your child, causing you to search for so long."
Sarah shook her head, glancing around nervously.
"It's okay, Mr. Stewart... but can you tell us where the child is now? Do you know?"
Antonio's eyes were filled with hope. "Mr. Stewart, if you can help us find our child, we'll be forever grateful and will do our best to reward you."
They had posted numerous missing person notices and rewards, attracting many people with information. They hadn't expected to find the person who had taken their child.
Mr. Stewart's dark eyes flashed briefly before he lowered them, sighing deeply.
"Unfortunately... when I found the child, she was very weak."
Sarah and Antonio's faces grew tense, their hands clasped tightly under the table, waiting for him to continue.
"I took her to the hospital immediately, barely saving her life. But her condition was very poor, and she received several critical notices. A week ago, she couldn't hold on any longer... she passed away. You arrived too late."
As he spoke, his eyes filled with genuine sorrow, as if he had developed feelings for Eden.
"I just had her cremated and hadn't decided where to bury her when I saw your notice."
Sarah felt numb, her mind replaying his words, her heartbeat becoming faint.
Cremated... remains...
What was this?
How could these words be associated with her Eden?!
It couldn't be true!
"Mr. Stewart, are you sure there's no mistake?" She forced a smile that looked worse than crying. "Eden was premature, but she couldn't have..."
Antonio, equally disbelieving, stared at the man with bloodshot eyes. "Mr. Stewart, are you sure the child you found is ours?"
The man sighed.
"Mr. Valencia, I understand your longing for your daughter, but I know exactly where I found her. I have no children or wife. I thought I could raise this little girl, but... it wasn't meant to be."
Antonio's breathing was heavy, the pain in his chest almost suffocating.
If what he said was true...
Then Eden...
He closed his eyes, gripping Sarah's hand tightly, feeling her cold palm, the despair spreading through his nerves.
At this moment, he couldn't bear to look at her.
If their daughter was truly gone, how could Sarah...
Sarah, surprisingly calm despite her trembling, asked, "Do you have any of my daughter's belongings?"
"Yes."
Mr. Stewart immediately responded, as if waiting for this question.
"I buried her near a sycamore tree not far from Loving Arms Orphanage, where our bond began."
He pulled a small box from under the table and placed it in front of them. "I burned the pink incubator at her burial site. According to our customs, a child needs a place to stay. But I kept her clothes and a small red string."
When Sarah heard this, her last thread of hope snapped.
It was really Eden!
Her daughter!
