Chapter 260 Antonio and Sarah Are Not Dead!
Upon witnessing this scene, James was so overwhelmed with excitement that tears welled up in his eyes. He knew that the unstoppable Mr. Valencia would never meet an easy end!
He rushed over to Antonio, panting and shouting excitedly, "Stay still! Mr. Valencia has returned! Mr. Valencia is alive!"
Unlike his usual meticulous style at the company, Antonio's hair was slightly disheveled.
Even so, his commanding presence was unparalleled. Antonio strode in, and instantly, everyone present seemed to lower their eyes. It was not as if they were conspiring for power but rather welcoming Antonio's return to the company.
Antonio took his seat at the head of the table as though there were no one else there. His sharp gaze swept over the room, finally settling on the disheveled James.
“James, is this how you treat guests in my absence?” A chilling voice emerged from his lips, permeating the air with coldness.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Valencia. It’s my mistake!”
James naturally understood Antonio's intention. He quickly straightened his clothes, wiped his face, and stood beside him.
Antonio glanced at the documents pertaining to ownership and related matters spread across the table. His thin lips curved slightly as he turned his attention to Lucien, who stood stiffly nearby, resembling a wooden chicken.
“Grandfather, long time no see. What brings a guest like you to Valencia Inc.?”
Antonio's choice of words deeply stabbed at Lucien.
'A guest? When did I become a guest of Valencia Inc.?!'
Besides, what made Lucien want to vomit blood even more was that Antonio and Sarah were not dead!
Also… How could these two illegitimate children be with them?!
'How is this possible… Were they not seen falling off the cliff?!'
Lucien felt as if he was about to spit blood but had to put on an act in front of everyone.
Lucien tightly grasped his cane, and his fingers turned slightly pale from exertion.
"Antonio, where have you been all these days? Do you have any idea how worried I was?"
Antonio chuckled lightly. "Where I have been, is it not clear in Grandfather's heart?"
Lucien's face instantly darkened. "Antonio... what do you mean by that?"
Antonio smiled as he looked at the old man before him, but his eagle-like gaze did not hint at amusement. His heart felt filled with coldness.
This person was his most respected grandfather, but it seemed as if he had never regarded him highly. It was endless scolding and baseless accusations from childhood to adulthood. It seemed like he had never done anything right in front of him.
But he had tried so hard.
Ever since Antonio was young, he wanted to earn his grandfather's approval, to prove that he wasn't just relying on the family's wealth and status.
But no matter what he did, it was all in vain. In Lucien's eyes, he was nothing more than a stranger.
Now, he had hired a hitman, resorting to murder just for the sake of his shares.
Antonio's heart had turned cold, and he had no compassion even for the person he once respected the most.
"Grandfather, the hitman you sent isn't very professional. He already assumed I was dead without seeing my body. Don't make such mistakes next time, or else... It might be you who gets hurt next time."
Antonio's words sent a chill down the spine of everyone present.
'A hitman… Could it be that Antonio's disappearance was related to Mr. Valencia Sr.?!'
Lucien squinted. Though he was shocked inside, he maintained a calm demeanor.
"I don't understand what you're saying. Since you're back, handle the matters that have piled up in the company properly. Don't make me worry about you anymore."
Saying this, Lucien was about to leave, but James quickly stood in front of the door.
Lucien tapped his cane hard on the ground, a hint of urgency on his face. "Antonio, is this how you handle things?"
Antonio, unperturbed, took out a phone from his pocket.
"I wonder if you recognize this phone. It contains all the records of your contacts with the hitman. Would you like to take a look?"
Sarah, who had been playing a decorative role on the side, looked puzzled upon hearing that.
'When did Antonio get hold of the hitman's phone? In such a life-or-death situation, how could he still have the leisure for that?'
Upon closer inspection, Sarah nearly burst out laughing. It wasn't the hitman's phone at all; it clearly belonged to Antonio.
Fortunately, Sarah had experienced big scenes before and didn't reveal any clues.
Lucien's face grew darker. "Antonio, don't try to deceive me with this phone. It proves nothing. Who knows if you're framing me?"
"The phone might not prove anything, but what about the person?"
Antonio narrowed his eyes with a hint of cunningnes.
Lucien maintained a calm facade but was already incredibly nervous inside.
He didn't believe that Antonio could find the hitman he had hired.
It was absolutely impossible!
However, the next second, a man bound tightly appeared at the door of the conference room—it was the hitman who had once pursued Antonio!
