Chapter 583 DNA Test
Daddy even went to look at furniture with another woman!
Ethan also felt a bit anxious. He couldn't be too clear about his words in front of Mommy right now. Otherwise, it would bring back her sadness.
He turned to look at Ryan, seeking guidance.
Ryan gently shook his head.
"Mommy, are you very tired today?" He pulled Sarah's hand. "If you're tired, then go rest. We can entertain ourselves."
Sarah withdrew her gaze from the television, suppressing all her emotions and apologizing, "I came back early today because I wanted to spend more time with you... But the things that happened just now have exhausted me physically and mentally."
"It's okay, Mommy. You go rest!" The children were very understanding and helped her up from the couch.
Harper imitated the way Daddy used to be. "Mommy, go upstairs and take a bath now, then sleep well. We'll take care of ourselves."
Sarah's heart warmed as she realized that with the children beside her, she could overcome anything.
"Alright." She kissed each of the three children on the forehead. "I will go take a bath now, and you should go to sleep early too."
The three of them said in unison, "Okay, Mommy!"
They watched Sarah go upstairs and then sat together on the sofa, discussing in hushed voices.
"Why didn't it work at all? Daddy didn't remember anything!"
Ryan thought for a moment. "Recovering memories is not something that can be remembered in a day or two. We should think of other ways."
"Yes!" Ethan agreed, "That's how it's portrayed on TV!"
'Usually, people who recover their memories start remembering little by little and then remember everything. But Daddy is different; he hasn't remembered anything.'
Harper was very distressed. "What other options do we have?"
'If we don't make Daddy recover his memories soon, will he marry another woman?'
Ethan suddenly brightened up, "I have an idea!"
"What?" Ryan and Harper immediately became interested.
"We are Daddy's children!" Ethan cautiously looked over to the stairs, then leaned in and whispered excitedly, "As long as we do a DNA test with Daddy, isn't that more persuasive than anything else? Even if Daddy hasn't recovered his memories, he will have to admit that he is our father!"
Ryan and Harper widened their eyes. "That makes sense!"
In Sarah's room.
Sarah had no idea that the children were discussing something big.
She finished washing and came out, drying her hair while recalling what had happened that afternoon.
Asa—a person who had died in prison.
Not only did he appear unscathed, but he also tracked and investigated her for a long time and seized the opportunity to attack. He must be trying to harm her again.
Benjamin's appearance was unexpected.
'If Asa really has someone behind him, he might act recklessly during this period.'
Sarah sighed silently. 'It's one wave after another.'
She took out a hairdryer from the cabinet beside her, quickly dried her hair, and then dialed Sofia's number on her phone.
Sarah remembered that Sophia had a childhood friend who was a high-profile lawyer and had never lost a case from his hands.
Lawyers like him usually had special channels. Would it be possible to ask for his help to investigate Asa's situation?
And Sarah was always uncertain about Benjamin's identity. If Sophia's friend could help, she also wanted to investigate whether the Harringtons ever lost a son.
Sophia's childhood friend and the people around Sarah were not involved, so there would be no conflicts of interest.
If they approached someone else... Sarah couldn't trust them.
The call connected, and Sofia' relaxed voice came from the other end, "What's up, baby? Already missing me after just a little while apart?"
"Well, I miss you." Sarah smiled. "I wanted to ask you for a favor."
Sofia became serious and sat up from the bed. "What happened?"
"Do you still remember Asa?" Sarah sighed "He came to see me today."
"What?!" Sofia exclaimed in disbelief, "Isn't that guy supposed to be in prison? How did he suddenly come to see you? Did he get released?"
Sarah shook her head, realizing that Sofia couldn't see her, and spoke up, "He didn't get released, and there's another thing... Before we had lunch, I went to the prison, and the records and videos inside showed that Asa had died suddenly."
Sofia processed what she had just heard in silence for a while.
After a moment, she finally let out a sigh. "Oh my goodness..."
What kind of supernatural event was this? If it weren't for the fact that she knew Sarah couldn't joke about something like this, she would have thought she was being deceived! They wouldn't even dare to portray this in a TV drama, would they?!
"Then... Did he do anything to you?" Sofia suddenly thought of this and became immediately nervous.
"No," Sarah assured her, knowing her friend's concern. "Benjamin saved me."
"That's good..." Sofia relaxed. "But you can't let your guard down, you know? Since he came to find you once, he will definitely come again until he achieves his goal!"
"I know," Sarah replied, taking the opportunity to share her speculations. "I suspect there are others behind him."
"What are your plans then?" Sofia thought about what Sarah had just said about her needing help. "Whatever it is, let me know."
"I remember you have a childhood friend who is a lawyer. I want you to ask him to investigate Asa.
"I hope you can keep this matter confidential for now. Please don't mention it to Alex. I'm concerned he might tell Brian, which could unnecessarily worry the children."
Brian already had to take care of Brady and handle the company's affairs. How could she make him worry about her as well?
"Don't worry, I've got it covered!" Sofia promised confidently, patting her chest. "Get some rest, and I'll let you know if I find any information."
Sarah acknowledged her response and hung up.
Sofia immediately called her childhood friend Richard.
"Richard, are you busy these days?"
She and Richard had grown up together and had a close relationship. They often got together and could talk about many topics.
Richard replied lazily, "Just tell me what you want, don't bother with useless small talk."
Sofia pouted, but she didn't have time to banter with him right now. "I need your help with something."
Richard's voice became more serious. "What is it?"
Sofia paused briefly, recognizing the importance of the matter at hand. She believed it warranted a face-to-face discussion. "Are you available now? Let's meet and talk."
"Do you think I would say I'm not free?" Richard chuckled. "Just tell me where to meet."
Sofia immediately took over. "Then let's go to the bar we usually go to. It's quite close to your place."
"Okay."
"See you later."
As Alex ascended the stairs with a cup of hot milk in hand, he entered the room to catch the final words emanating from the phone on speaker.
Then he saw Sofia changing clothes.
Alex paused for a moment and casually asked, "It's so late. Are you still going out?"
