Chapter 716 Being with Her Clean and Pure
Aaron gave a nod. "Gotcha, Mr. Harrington. No sweat."
Otis had already lined Aaron's pockets pretty well and hinted there'd be more cash once the gig was done.
Plus, the drama between these rich folks was way above his pay grade.
All he had to do was take the money, do the job, and keep his mouth shut.
He wasn't dumb enough to pass up easy cash and put his neck on the line.
Antonio nodded and handed over the phone and clothes he was holding, saying, "Room's booked. Margaret will hit you up. You know the drill."
Aaron got the message. "Roger that, Mr. Harrington."
Otis had already filled him in on the plan.
The mission? Get Margaret to fall for him, make her trust him, and then squeeze out some useful info.
Antonio raised an eyebrow and turned to Otis, saying, "You go too, and keep an eye on things."
"Got it," Otis replied.
Antonio didn't say anything else. He slipped out through the fire escape and headed to the restaurant to grab breakfast, just the way Sarah liked it.
He didn't expect Sarah to wake up and catch a glimpse of "Antonio" leaving.
Antonio collected his thoughts, looking at Sarah's profile, his heart softened.
He had also come to understand that as long as Sarah was willing to be with him, it didn't matter what his identity was.
After all, he was still himself, wasn't he?
Whether he was Antonio or Benjamin, Sarah would firmly choose him.
This also proved that nothing could break their bond!
Once Harold was dealt with, he would tell Sarah everything, and then they could reunite as a family.
Meanwhile, Sarah was washing her face and could feel the intense gaze from outside.
She sped up, finished brushing her teeth, and walked straight to the table.
Antonio followed her and helped peel an egg, saying, "Drink some water before you eat. I had them add a bit of honey; it tastes better."
Sarah took a sip, and it had a light sweet taste.
She glanced at Antonio across from her. The dark circles under his eyes were evident, showing he hadn't rested well the night before. After hesitating, she said, "Why don't you go back to sleep for a bit? You have dark circles under your eyes."
Antonio smiled at her feigned annoyance and said, "Sarah, are you worried about me?"
Sarah retorted, "Whether you sleep or not is none of my business!"
Then she added, "What exactly are you doing on this trip abroad?" Her tone was casual, like chatting about the weather. "Is it really just to take me out for fun?"
This time, Antonio didn't hide anything and placed the peeled egg in her bowl.
"Yes. And no."
He added, "I happened to have an appointment with a doctor to check on my old injuries. I thought you didn't have much going on at the company, so I could take you out to relax."
He knew Harold would bring out a woman, so instead of meeting another woman, he might as well date Sarah.
And seeing the doctor was true.
The doctor was recommended by Arnold, who had previously treated him with hypnosis.
He was considered an elite in the field, one of the few in the world who could confidently remove the chip from Antonio's body without causing any harm.
As long as the chip was in Antonio's body, it was a ticking time bomb.
What's worse, Harold could figure out he got his memory back any minute now, which would be a huge threat to Sarah and the kids.
Plus, he wanted to be with Sarah without any baggage.
Even if he wasn't being 100% honest, it was close enough.
Sarah wasn't buying it.
Why go all the way out here to check on old injuries?
He was Antonio, not Benjamin, who grew up abroad.
But she didn't feel like grilling him anymore, so she just nodded, "When are we seeing the doc?"
"After you finish eating," Antonio said.
"Let's just go now." Sarah wiped her mouth and stood up, saying, "I'm already full."
She wanted to see how bad Antonio's injuries were and if there were any hidden dangers.
Antonio glanced at the leftover food and frowned, "Aren't you gonna eat a bit more? What if you get hungry later?"
Sarah shook her head, speaking kindly for once, "But if I eat too much, I'll feel nauseous. That's enough."
Antonio didn't push it. He changed into a different outfit and even slapped on a fake mustache.
The whole look wasn't old, still handsome, but kinda quirky, like someone with a weird personality, totally different from his usual self.
Sarah knew what he was going for but still found it funny, pretending to be disdainful, teasing, "Trying to blend in with the locals? What's with the look?"
Her expression, in Antonio's eyes, was pure disdain, which stung a bit.
He wrapped his arm around her waist, whispering, "Already dissing me? What'll you do when I get old?"
Sarah didn't actually mind; she found him handsomely different.
But she couldn't say that.
If she did, Antonio would definitely get all smug!
"It's really kinda ugly," she pretended to pout and shake her head, then laughed, "Besides, who says I'll be with you when you're old? Don't worry, that look ain't for me."
Her words hinted they were just temporary lovers, the kind that could split anytime.
Antonio didn't look at her face, swallowing the bitterness, and sighed, "I wanted to give you a new vibe. If you don't like it, I'll change."
Sarah didn't want him to fuss and walked towards the door first.
"Just leave it. I don't have any special preferences."
Antonio lowered his eyes, put away all his emotions, and followed her.
He had somehow scored a cheap car, very low-key.
Antonio drove to a hospital and, upon getting out, said to Sarah, "This place is world-class. I also booked a check-up for you and the baby."
"I've been having regular check-ups." Sarah frowned, feeling something was off.
She said, "I don't have any issues usually, so there's no need for a special check-up, right?"
She was mainly there to keep Antonio company. She didn't have any discomfort, so the check-up seemed unnecessary to her.
Antonio thought otherwise.
"It's just convenient." He explained, "My check-up will take a while. You'll be bored waiting outside, so why not get checked?"
He added, "And you startled the baby a while ago. I'll feel better knowing you and the baby are healthy. Be good."
His deep voice was coaxing, making it hard for Sarah to refuse.
"Alright then."
She agreed but felt even more uneasy inside.
