Chapter 85 Ethan Was Seen

That night, after a crazy day at work, Antonio rolled back to the villa. The second he stepped in, the smell of food hit him, and he felt the stress just melt away.

The vibe tonight was totally different.

Antonio strolled into the dining room and saw the table loaded with fancy dishes, candles flickering, and a bottle of red wine ready to go.

The soft candlelight danced in his eyes, and man, he hadn't felt this chill in ages.

Looked like Sarah was cool with him again and went all out with this setup.

But then, in a flash, Antonio's face went ice-cold, and the light in his eyes vanished, replaced by pure darkness. "Why you?"

Lisa sauntered out of the kitchen.

The moment Lisa saw Antonio, she beamed like she hadn't heard his question. She set down the bowl of soup she was holding and chirped, "Antonio, perfect timing! Dinner's ready. Come on, sit and eat!"

She moved over, ready to help Antonio with his coat.

Antonio's brow furrowed, and he dodged Lisa's hand, snapping, "I asked, why are you here?"

Lisa's smile faltered, and a flicker of resentment crossed her face. But she quickly masked it and smiled again. "Antonio, Philip asked Ryan and me to move in. I couldn't say no."

Antonio's eyes darkened, and he didn't bother responding to Lisa. He scanned the villa and then asked, "Where's Sarah?"

Lisa stayed quiet.

Meanwhile, Sarah was having a blast, munching on some tasty food with the kids!

Earlier, Ethan and Michael were chilling in the apartment and were super surprised when Sarah showed up with Harper!

Ethan, who usually played it cool, suddenly clung to Sarah like a koala. Michael was bouncing with joy. When Sarah mentioned taking the kids out, he jumped at the chance to be the driver.

The four of them hit the supermarket, loaded up on goodies, and had a barbecue in the yard. The vibe was all happy and chill.

But then, the roar of a sports car shattered the peace.

Michael, who knew the usual sounds around here, sensed something was off. Seeing his face, Sarah knew something was up, and her smile froze.

Michael dashed out to check. When he saw who it was, he was stunned and rushed back to the yard. "Mr. Valencia is here!"

Sarah's face darkened, but inside, she was oddly calm. She knew Antonio would come looking for her.

When Ethan heard Antonio was here, he bolted from his chair and took off.

No way could Antonio find out he existed!

When Antonio hit the backyard, he caught a glimpse of a small figure darting away. He thought it was Harper at first, but then he saw Harper sitting at the table.

Suspicion flickered in his eyes. "Who was that kid just now?"

"Who?" Sarah replied coolly, playing it off.

But inside, she was freaking out.

Antonio had definitely seen Ethan's back. What if he wouldn't drop it?

Luckily, night had fully set in. Even with the yard lights on, it wasn't super bright. Sarah planned to stick to her story and deny there was anyone else.

Antonio stormed over, his eyes locked on Sarah's calm face. "A kid just ran by."

Sarah gritted her teeth, her hand clenching under the table. "Really? You must be seeing things."

Harper, sitting quietly, was a bundle of nerves. She glanced in the direction Ethan had bolted.

Deep down, she still wished the family could be whole again.

But since Sarah and Ethan were keeping secrets, she couldn't spill the beans. She didn't want to be the snitch.

Michael watched the scene unfold, his nerves on edge. He silently vowed that if Antonio lost it, he'd protect Sarah and the kids no matter what.

The tension was thick. Antonio scanned the area. Smoke rose from the grill, the smell of meat in the air. The table was set with a hot pot and a spread of food and soda, like a party.

Seeing this, Antonio's anger grew. His lips pressed into a thin line, and his eyes flashed with fury.

'Taking Harper from my place to party with Michael? Sarah, you've crossed the line!' he mused.

Then Antonio noticed the tableware and his eyes narrowed. "Three people, four sets of tableware? There's someone else here."

He looked at Sarah, his voice low and demanding. "Who is that kid? Spill it!"

Hiding in the corner, Ethan smacked his forehead. He'd been so focused on running, he forgot about the tableware!

He dashed back to his room, locked the door, and grabbed a toy weapon for self-defense.

If Antonio barged in, he'd get a taste of Ethan's stick-fighting skills!

Sarah was frustrated by her slip-up, worry flashing in her eyes, but she quickly composed herself.

"I told you, you're mistaken. No one else is here. So what if three people use four sets of cutlery? Heard of sharing  utensils?"

Antonio's lips tightened, coldness and disbelief in his eyes.

There had to be someone else, maybe even the kid who kidnapped James last time.

Thinking of that night, Antonio turned to Michael, who froze under Antonio's icy glare.

Antonio's eyes darkened. Pushing further would only strain things more.

The priority now was to keep Sarah from disappearing again.

Antonio stepped forward, his fingers wrapping around Sarah's wrist. He was ready to drag her away. "Come home with me."

Sarah shook off his hand, her voice cold. "There's already a woman there. I'm not going back."

Mentioning Lisa made Antonio's face even colder, a fierce look in his eyes. "Don't use that as an excuse. I'll deal with Lisa. Come home with me."

Sarah stayed silent.

Half an hour later, Harper walked into the villa, her eyes sparkling with joy. 'We're back again!' she exclaimed.
