Chapter 912 How to Deal with It is Up to Him

The day after the surgery, Sarah was supposed to regain consciousness. But she didn't.

Although her bodily functions were still operating, it was as if her body had fallen into a deep sleep.

Fortunately, she finally woke up on the third day, and the first thing she asked was, "How is Antonio?"

The nurse was recording data from the instruments, feeling a pang of sadness. "Mr. Valencia woke up yesterday and asked about you several times."

"So... what did you tell him?" Sarah was a bit anxious, "You didn't tell him my real condition, did you?"

The organ had just been transplanted, and no one could predict if there would be any rejection. It was a critical time for him, and nothing could go wrong!

"Mrs. Valencia, don't worry." The nurse sighed and placed her hand back under the blanket.

"I told Mr. Valencia that you were undergoing postpartum recovery, just as you instructed. He didn't suspect anything."

"That's good." Sarah gave a pale smile, still catching her breath.

"Mrs. Valencia, the most important thing for you now is to take care of your own body. Don't worry about Mr. Valencia; his physical condition is much better than yours. He will recover soon, but you need to be careful." The nurse had become quite familiar with her during this time and couldn't help but say a few more words.

Sarah was already weak after giving birth, and this ordeal had taken a toll on her. If she didn't recover well, her body would remain frail in the future!

But Sarah was only concerned about Antonio.

Sarah knew the nurse meant well and wasn't angry. Instead, she was genuinely grateful, "Thank you and Dr. Reyes for all your help during this time."

The nurse looked at her pale face and smiled, "It's our duty. You should rest well."

Sarah was transferred to a regular ward after her check-up showed no issues.

Feeling better, she picked up her phone to let Sofia know she was okay.

As soon as the call connected, she was greeted by the children's voices.

"Mommy, why did it take you so long to call us?"

"How are you and Daddy doing?"

"Are you both healthy now? Are you coming back soon?"

The children's sweet voices made Sarah's lips curl into a smile, instantly lifting her spirits. "Don't worry, weare fine now. We'll be back to see you soon. Listen to Sofia, okay?"

Harper was so eager that he wished he could jump through the phone to be with Sarah.

Seeing that they wouldn't stop talking, Sofia, worried about disturbing Sarah's rest, gathered the children around her, "Alright, you've all said hello. Now it's my turn. Go play for a while, okay?"

Sofia made sure they went to the playroom, then gently closed the door. Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke, "Sarah, how are you?"

"I'm fine." Sarah looked out the window, the sunlight casting a serene and gentle glow on her face. "Don't worry about me. We can't go back just yet, so thank you for taking care of the children."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Sofia felt deeply for Sarah, unable to imagine how she had endured this time, "How is Antonio?"

"He's recovering well, but I can't visit him yet." Talking about Antonio brought a smile to Sarah's face, making her look even more gentle than before, "God bless, we're both alive. In time, we'll fully recover."

"You're so foolish!"

Although Sarah wasn't in life-threatening danger, losing an organ would inevitably affect her!

Before Sarah could respond, Sofia continued, "Forget it. I don't expect you to say anything about taking care of yourself. This is what you wanted to do. You want Antonio to be well, and all I can do is support you."

"But please, love yourself a little more in the future! Don't do such foolish things again!"

Sarah knew Sofia was concerned for her, and her gentle expression was filled with happiness, "Okay, I'll follow your advice and put myself first from now on!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Sofia's voice came softly, "When do you plan to tell him?"

Sarah fell silent. She couldn't find the words.

Sofia was a bit angry but not surprised, "Sarah, are you inspired by Antonio? Because he kept something from you before, now you're doing the same?"

"I could understand you not telling him before the surgery, fearing he might refuse. But now that the surgery is successful, you still don't plan to tell him?"

Sarah bit her lip, remaining silent for a long time before speaking with difficulty, "Sofia, I didn't mean to hide it from him."

Before, when Antonio had kept the chip in his body a secret and wanted to undergo surgery alone, she had been very angry!

She thought they were a couple, and there was nothing they couldn't face together.

But now, with the roles reversed, she realized it wasn't that simple.

There were too many things to consider.

If she had told Antonio about this before the surgery, he loved her so much that he would never have allowed it to happen. He might even have blamed himself.

Now that the surgery was over and they were both in a critical recovery period, telling him might lead Antonio to do something irrational.

Since it was all over and they were both fine, what was the point of telling him?

She had to admit that she had been too extreme before, always lacking a sense of security and wanting Antonio to tell her everything, big or small.

But now, as Sarah kept something from Antonio out of concern for him, she realized it was all because of love.

So whether she told him or not didn't seem that important anymore. She now clearly understood how much she and Antonio loved each other, and that was enough.

Sofia listened to her and could only sigh, not knowing what else to say.

'Sarah, this foolish woman!' Sofia thought to herself.

"You were angry with Antonio because you cared about him. Have you thought about how he will feel when he finds out later?"

"I have." Sarah lowered her eyes, unconsciously picking at her nails, "I understand what you mean, but I regret it now, Sofia. Can you understand?"

"I used to only think about my own feelings, never considering his perspective. Hearing those harsh words from me must have hurt him deeply, even though he meant well. Yet, I still blamed him."

Antonio must have felt terrible at the time. But even so, he never blamed her.

Countless images flashed through Sarah's mind, and the guilt and gratitude in her heart were overwhelming. She held back the tears and said, "Don't worry, once his condition stabilizes, I will tell him everything. But now is not the right time. When the time comes, no matter how he wants to deal with me, I'll accept it."
