Chapter 461 Love Memoirs

Back at the villa…

The four children sat in the living room, eyes fixed eagerly on the front door.

"Why aren't Daddy and Mommy back yet?" Harper sighed.

Brian also felt that something was off. In the morning, Sarah had rushed out after receiving a phone call, and there had been no word from her since.

"Just call and ask," Brian said, dialing the number.

When Antonio saw that it was Brian calling, he steadied his emotions. "What is it, Brian?"

"Where's Mommy? Why haven't you two come home?" asked Brian.

"Daddy and Mommy wanted to spend some time alone together. You kids be good at home. I've already asked James to send dinner over for you. The house is your responsibility now... Honey, wait for me, why aren't you taking the flowers?"

Antonio spoke while hanging up, creating the impression that they were indeed out on a date.

Brian listened to the dial tone and put down the phone, somewhat speechless. "They're on a date. They've left us behind again."

"Brian, why don't we seize this opportunity while Mommy and Daddy are away to make a birthday present for Daddy? It could be our special surprise for him," Harper suggested. "Let's make it something grand."

Ethan and Ryan agreed, "Yeah! Let's do it together. Daddy will definitely be happy."

Brian was puzzled. "What's there to make? Whatever he likes, we can just buy it. Money solves everything. if money can solve it, it's not a problem."

However, Harper and Ryan shook their heads. "Brian, what matters most when giving a gift is the sentiment. Anyone can buy things, but sentiment isn't something that can be easily expressed."

"Yeah, Brian, a gift prepared by our own hands is the most precious, especially if all four of us do it together. Daddy will surely love it."

Brian thought about it and felt they made sense. "Alright then, what shall we make? You guys decide."

Now the four children looked at each other, clueless. After all, Antonio lacked nothing.

"What does dad even like?" Harper mused, clutching a small pillow.

Ryan shrugged. "I'm not sure. I've never seen him take a particular interest in anything."

From the corner, Ethan murmured pensively, "I think he just likes Mommy."

The siblings shared a laugh, followed by collective sighs. They realized how little they truly knew their father. Despite living together for so long, he had always been the one nurturing and spoiling them. He seemed so indestructible that they subconsciously assumed he needed nothing.

"But is there really anyone who needs nothing?" Feeling a twinge of guilt, Harper buried her face between her knees. "How do we know so little?"

Ethan glanced at Brian. "Any bright ideas?"

"I've spent the least time with him..." Brian trailed off.

Ryan, scratching his head, had a sudden thought. "You mention Daddy loves Sarah the most… What if we give him something related to her?"

"What are you talking about, dummy? Mommy is always by Daddy's side. How are we supposed to 'give her' to him?" Harper tapped Ryan on the head, displaying her dissatisfaction with the idea.

Ryan waved his hands. "No, no, that's not what I mean. I'm saying, since the birthday party is for the two of them, why not focus on something to do with Sarah?"

Ethan nodded. "That makes sense, but what should we do?"

A flash of inspiration hit Brian. "I've got it."

The other three turned towards him eagerly. "What's the plan?"

With a sly grin, Brian revealed, "What about putting together a scrapbook of Mommy and Daddy's romance? We've got tons of old photos around the house, right?"

Ethan's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Yes, I know exactly where to find it."

Harper and Ryan perked up, and Brian had a variety of tools delivered to them. The four kids spent the entire night working, even incorporating some of their childhood photos into the project.

After all, they firmly believed that apart from Sarah, Antonio loved them dearly too!

As dawn approached, Harper rubbed her sore eyes, too tired to keep them open. "I'm so exhausted!"

Ryan yawned and quickly checked Harper's eyes, saying with concern, "You've bloodshot eyes. Let’s go to sleep."

"Okay~"

Everyone was extremely sleepy as they made their way upstairs to the bedrooms.

Ethan, holding the fruits of their labor, expressed contentedly, "Now we just wait for Daddy's birthday to come. We and Mommy have worked so hard; let's hope nothing goes wrong."

Harper exclaimed, "How could anything go wrong? Brian isn't causing trouble like he used to. Don't jinx it."

Ethan shrugged. "That's true, Brian definitely won't cause any trouble this time."

Reminded of the mischief he caused upon his return home, Brian blushed with embarrassment. Quickly, he earnestly declared, "That's all in the past. Let's not dwell on it. I know I was wrong! Let's tidy up and get some rest!"

The group dissolved into laughter and dispersed.

At that moment, nobody knew that Ethan's casual remark would turn out to be prophetic...
