Chapter 632 Hating Benjamin

It was Sofia who reacted first. She picked up the glass of water in front of her and said politely, "As expected of Mr. Newman! So generous! Don't worry, feel free to inspect! The Valencia family group will not disappoint you!"

They all knew in their hearts that what attracted Virgil to invest, besides Sarah's sincerity in personally inviting him, was more importantly the Valencia family group's top-notch professional technology and commercial status in the industry.

Otherwise, no matter how easygoing Virgil was, he wasn't doing it out of charity.

The subsequent conversation was quite pleasant. After discussing work, the three of them began to dine. With Sofia mediating and occasionally sharing some past anecdotes, it didn't feel awkward at all.

Afterward, Virgil drove them back to the hotel.

Virgil pleasantly remarked, "I'm looking forward to seeing you both at tonight's party."

Sarah waved at him and smiled, "See you tonight, Mr. Newman. Drive safely."

Sofia also waved goodbye and went upstairs with Sarah linking arms.

The evening party was an annual event in H City, attended mostly by nobles. People of status from all over the country would receive invitations, making it a grand social event.

Sofia found two dresses and dressed up meticulously.

Sofia suggested, calculatingly, "Besides Virgil, we might meet other business magnates tonight. Just to be safe, let's dress up a bit."

Sarah smiled and said nothing.

She certainly wouldn't miss any opportunity that comes by now.

At seven in the evening, the two arrived at the hotel where the banquet was held. Their black and red dresses perfectly highlighted their beauty, attracting countless gazes.

As they walked inside, Sofia leaned over and whispered, "This is my first time at this party too. I didn't expect it to be such a gathering of nobles. It seems like many people from the capital city are here too. We might even run into some acquaintances."

Sarah glanced around the environment and didn't take the comment seriously, "You must be hungry! This might not end anytime soon, let's find something to eat first!"

"We have no time." Sofia shook her head and said, "It's about to start."

Just as she finished speaking, melodious music began to play, and people started dancing in the center of the dance floor, opening with an elegant waltz.

Before Sarah could react, Sofia was already pulled away by a man she knew. Virgil appeared out of nowhere, inviting, "Ms. Miller, may I have this dance with you?"

Sarah quickly responded with a smile, "Of course."

The two held hands and stepped onto the dance floor.

Waltz was not unfamiliar to people in the business world. Socializing often required attending business balls, and naturally, they all learned to dance a bit.

Sarah followed Virgil's steps carefully.

Unexpectedly, just as she turned with the rhythm of the music, a strong hand suddenly grabbed her and pulled her aside!

In the blink of an eye, her dance partner changed.

Everything happened so fast that it wasn't until a familiar scent reached her nose that Sarah realized what was happening. She looked up in shock.

Benjamin!

Sarah exclaimed in surprise, "What are you doing here?!"

Benjamin's face was tense as he led her in the dance, not looking away.

He coldly retorted, "Feeling disappointed to see me?"

He held Sarah's waist tightly with one hand, their hands clasped, the cool touch transferring to her palm, and he said, "I'm quite surprised to see you here."

Although he said that, his expression showed no surprise at all.

Benjamin had known she would be here!

Sarah's anger flared up instantly. She had no intention of continuing the dance with him and tried to break free, she angrily remarked, "Excuse me! You can keep dancing! "

She hadn't taken two steps when Benjamin grabbed her wrist and yanked her back.

Sarah crashed into his chest, the hard, warm impact causing a sharp pain.

She impatiently demanded, "What are you doing?! Let go of me!"

Benjamin was truly a madman!

Benjamin continued to dance with her, the distance between them so close it was as if they were embracing.

He lowered his head slightly, his breath brushing against Sarah's cheek, his voice low as he spoke, "With so many people watching, are you sure you want to make a scene with me?"

Sarah had been struggling fiercely but paused at his words.

When Benjamin went crazy, no one knew what he might do next.

Mr. Newman had just agreed to invest, and if Benjamin ruined tonight's party, it would definitely leave a bad impression.

Forget it!

No need to argue with him!

Feeling the person in his arms stopped struggling, Benjamin's lips smirked slightly, but he said nothing more and earnestly continued the dance.

As soon as the dance ended, Sarah stepped back as if avoiding the plague.

Virgil, standing not far away, had just finished talking with his dance partner and saw the scene. His eyes behind the glasses narrowed slightly, and then he walked over with a full smile, saying, "Mr. Harrington!"

He hadn't expected the famous Benjamin to be here!

But it seemed like there was some history between him and Sarah.

Benjamin was about to grab Sarah when he paused at Virgil's words.

Sarah also stopped and turned back, somewhat surprised that Virgil seemed to know Benjamin.

But the truth was, they weren't familiar.

Virgil extended his hand warmly and said, "It's an honor to have Mr. Harrington at our party today! I hope we have the opportunity to collaborate in the future."

Benjamin glanced briefly at the hand suspended in mid-air, his gaze moving up to Virgil's kind and gentle face, without expression, and said, "I'm not here looking for you. As for collaboration, we're not familiar enough to discuss that, are we?"

He kept his hands in his pockets, maintaining a distant demeanor.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and the surrounding people gradually quieted down, casting curious glances in their direction, with occasional whispers.

Virgil withdrew his hand, the awkwardness fleeting.

"Mr. Harrington is right." His smile remained unchanged and said with ingratiating words, "I've long wanted to meet Mr. Harrington. Since you're here today, please allow me to fulfill my duties as a host."

Benjamin didn't even look at him, his gaze fixed on Sarah not far away.

Sarah felt uncomfortable under his stare and glared at him with a hostile expression.

Virgil, being a smart man, noticed their interaction and said to Sarah without changing his smile, "Ms. Miller is also from the capital city. What a coincidence!"

Benjamin snorted coldly, saying, "Ms. Miller loves these kinds of events! Otherwise, why come all the way to H City!"

Sarah wanted to curse but held back.

Virgil remained outwardly calm, but his mind was racing.

It seemed Benjamin and Sarah held a grudge against each other!

In that case, he definitely couldn't invest in Sarah. Otherwise, it would be no different than going against the Harrington Group!

He still wanted to collaborate with the Harrington Group!

So, he turned and apologized, "Ms. Miller, regarding the investment we discussed earlier, I'm afraid I have to back out. I'm sorry."

Sarah's expression froze and quickly understood.

Virgil must have noticed the tension between her and Benjamin, so he changed his mind at the last minute, rejecting her in front of Benjamin to show his stance and curry favor.

So, the investment she had worked so hard to secure was ruined by Benjamin again!

Sarah absolutely hated Benjamin!
