Chapter 342 The Two of Them Crying
Tears welled up in Harper's eyes, and Ryan found himself at a loss, unsure of how to console her. Antonio's rage was a force that no one could tame.
Brian's fists tightened, his mind whirling with thoughts of retaliation. If Antonio dared to raise his voice against Sarah once more, he wouldn't hesitate to strike him down.
No one had the right to bully Mommy in his presence!
Upon witnessing the escalating tension, Alex and Sofia Harris swiftly ushered the children back inside.
"We'll go back on our own, you both can go to the study," Brian suggested to Alex.
After all, Ethan was still tucked away in the room, and if Sofia Harris were to discover him, it could potentially incite further chaos.
Alex nodded in agreement, his mind too preoccupied to entertain any other thoughts. He took Sofia Harris's hand and they retreated to the study.
Meanwhile, Ethan, who had been hidden away in the room, was alerted by the commotion outside. "Big brother, what's happening? Why are they fighting?" he asked anxiously.
Brian shook his head, "I'm not entirely sure, but both Mommy and Antonio are distressed."
"I don't want Mommy and Daddy to separate. Big brother, Ethan, what should we do?" Harper asked, wiping away her tears.
She had grown fond of Antonio and refused to believe that he could ever harm Mommy.
"Harper, I know you don't want that, but you've seen how Antonio is hurting Mommy," Brian consoled her. "Let's not act hastily. We'll see what Mommy wants to do and respect her decision."
Ethan also sensed that something was amiss. He had spent enough time with Antonio to understand his temperament.
Antonio always prioritized their mother and wasn't one to lose his temper easily.
Ryan nodded in agreement, not wanting them to leave.
Brian sighed quietly, settling himself in front of the monitor to continue observing the unfolding drama in the living room.
In the meantime, Alex had led Sofia Harris into the study. She felt a slight discomfort when she noticed that Alex was still holding her hand.
"Um, could you let go of my hand for now?"
Only then did Alex realize that he had been so engrossed in the dispute between Sarah and Antonio that he had forgotten he was still holding Sofia's hand!
He looked at Sofia Harris apologetically, "I'm sorry, I forgot in the heat of the moment."
"It's okay, it's not a big deal," Sofia Harris replied with a slight smile, her heart fluttering from the prolonged contact.
"We haven't properly introduced ourselves yet. I'm Sofia Harris."
Alex responded with a smirk, "Nice to meet you. I'm Alex."
Sofia Harris was momentarily dazzled by his smile, her heart pounding in her chest.
She was always straightforward and had been caught off guard.
Suddenly, Sofia Harris asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
Alex was taken aback and felt a bit awkward. "I...I don't have one yet."
"Oh, I see. Well, then consider me," Sofia Harris suggested with a smirk.
Alex was taken aback.
This girl is so direct... They have only just met!
He was at a loss for words, trying to figure out how to respond when they heard the sound of something breaking in the living room.
Sofia Harris immediately stopped joking around and said, "No, I can't rest easy. Let me go check."
Alex quickly asked someone to hold her back, saying, "Maybe we shouldn't go there. After all, it's a matter between a husband and wife, and it's not convenient for us as outsiders to get involved."
"If Sarah needs help, we can still go out later. Plus, I don't think Mr. Valencia would harm her."
"I know he won't hurt her, but..." But they could not continue like this, Sarah was already very upset.
Sofia Harris sighed silently. Alex was right, even if their relationship was good, she couldn't just meddle in someone else's private matters.
"I'll listen to you."
Alex nodded and realized that he was holding Sofia Harris's hand again. It felt like an electric shock, so he quickly let go.
Sofia Harris smiled nonchalantly. "You continue with your thoughts, I won't disturb you anymore."
Alex's ears turned slightly red, and he couldn't dare to look at Sofia Harris's eyes directly.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Antonio stepped on the shattered pieces and tightly hugged Sarah.
"Sarah, I won't agree to you leaving. Even if it means my death, I will never let you leave me."
"Antonio, why do you think that you can still keep me by your side despite the fact that you did not trust me all along?"
Sarah stubbornly looked at Antonio. She was so angry that she didn't care about holding back her own words and blurted every emotion out, regardless of whether they would hurt him.
"Fine, I'll tell you now, I am exactly the kind of woman you think I am! You don't have to pretend to be so affectionate towards me. Even without you, I can still live a carefree and happy life."
"You don't have to put on this act either. Let's just break up, and neither of us needs the other!"
Antonio hadn't expected Sarah to say such things. His heart ached as if it was about to shatter. His eyes were slightly red, and his voice trembled.
"Sarah, you can't leave me. You absolutely cannot leave me."
"Antonio, are you done yet? Let me tell you, not only am I leaving you, but I'm also going to marry someone else with our child. Don't you think I'm promiscuous? I will prove that your thoughts about me is right!"
"I don't agree!"
As Antonio spoke, tears streamed down his face. They couldn't be stopped anymore. "Sarah, please don't say that. I truly can't live without you!"
Sarah froze. It wasn't that she hadn't seen Antonio's tears before, but she had never seen him so heartbroken and vulnerable.
This expression he wore on his face was not the familiar Antonio to her...
Her nostrils felt sour, and tears flowed down.
She knew Antonio was feeling sad, but she was not feeling any better herself.
