Chapter 880 Dreams Foretell Reality

Francis was shocked; he didn't expect him to say something like that all of a sudden.

Sarah's kindness to Ryan was evident to Francis. Didn't Ryan used to love Sarah wholeheartedly? How could he suddenly change his mind?

"Ryan, isn't Sarah your mommy?" Francis asked.

Ryan bit his lip stubbornly, "She's not!"

"Didn't you see just now? She's their mommy, not mine! She doesn't understand me at all. Elara saved me, and she didn't even care. She doesn't love me as much as Elara does!"

Francis took a deep breath and said sternly, "Ryan! What nonsense are you talking about!"

Anyone could see that Sarah personally cooked breakfast this morning to mend Ryan's fragile heart, but it was misunderstood like this.

"Your mommy loves you all the same. How can you think like that? Hmm?"

Ryan looked at Francis's serious expression and stopped talking, but his eyes still showed defiance and rejection from the bottom of his heart.

Francis held back his anger and said, "I understand that you've been feeling down lately, but you also need to understand your mommy's love for you. She's already having a hard time being pregnant, and you can't use such hurtful words to upset her!"

"As for what you just said about wanting your real mommy, I can tell you clearly that I have no plans to get married right now. Even if I do in the future, Sarah will still be your mommy. That won't change! You're grown up now; you should understand."

Ryan's eyes reddened as he looked at him. After holding back for a long time, he finally said, "So you lied to me? You said I could ask for anything! But when I did, you wouldn't allow it! You adults are all like this!"

"I meant other requests!" Francis took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm. "You're a very smart kid, so I believe you can understand that we are independent individuals. I must meet your emotional and material needs, but I also have my own life."

"I can't just marry someone because you want a mommy. That would be irresponsible to everyone. Do you understand?"

Ryan didn't say anything, his eyes downcast, as if he had taken in his words, but also as if he hadn't.

His small frame seemed to erect a barrier around him, immersing himself in his own world.

Francis sighed, "It's okay if you don't understand. Take your time to think about it."

He felt that Ryan wouldn't understand these words so quickly and didn't force him. "Now come back with me and have your breakfast."

Ryan remained silent, letting Francis lead him inside.

Sarah breathed a sigh of relief when she saw them come in. "Ryan, have your breakfast first, and then I'll draw with you, okay?"

Ryan still didn't speak.

But the situation seemed slightly better than before. At least he was willing to sit down and eat breakfast with a fork.

Francis frowned and shook his head at Sarah.

Ryan was too young; saying too much might backfire.

Everyone reached a tacit understanding, planning to let Ryan digest it on his own. Maybe he would be fine after a while.

But what no one expected was that Ryan's silence didn't mean he had accepted it. Instead, he had suppressed all his emotions inside, not getting any answers.

That night, after Sarah finished washing up, she went to Ryan's room.

She knocked on the door, "Ryan, I'm coming in, okay?"

There was no one answered.

Sarah took a deep breath and pushed the door open, looking at the small lump on the bed. She said softly, "Ryan, I haven't slept with you for a long time. Tonight, I..."

Before she could finish, she suddenly felt something was wrong. She walked over quickly and lifted the blanket, her face changing instantly.

'Why is it a doll? Where is Ryan?' She thought.

"Antonio!" Sarah ran out of the room in a panic, almost bumping into Antonio, who had come over after hearing the noise.

"What's wrong, Sarah?"

"Ryan is missing!" She grabbed Antonio's clothes tightly, a bad feeling rising in her heart. She forced herself to stay calm. "I was going to sleep with him, but there's only a doll under the blanket. Quickly, get someone to find Ryan!"

Antonio's face turned cold upon hearing this, but his voice remained gentle. "Don't worry, I'll have someone look for him right away. He might just be playing around; he won't be in any danger!"

"Okay, go quickly!"

The commotion woke everyone up, and they all started looking for Ryan, searching almost everywhere.

Nearly two hours later, Sarah received a call from the hospital. It was from Elara.

She was stunned for a moment before coming to her senses. "Are you saying Ryan took a cab to the hospital to find you?"

Lisa responded weakly, sounding a bit scared. "Mrs. Valencia, I'll bring Ryan back right away."

"No... no need." Sarah felt empty inside but forced herself to stay strong. "Since he wants to see you, let him stay with you for the night. I'll have a caregiver take extra care of him. I'm sorry to trouble you tonight."

Ryan must have gone to the hospital because he trusted Elara. Forcing him to come back would only backfire.

"Alright, thank you, Mrs. Valencia!" Lisa's tone sounded grateful. "I'll take good care of him!"

Sarah pressed her lips together, not knowing why she was being thanked, but she felt stifled and didn't say much. "You rest well too. See you tomorrow."

"Okay, Mrs. Valencia! See you tomorrow!" Lisa hung up, feeling a sense of triumph.

So what if Sarah had everything now?

Watching the child she raised get close to someone else must be a terrible feeling, right?

Because Ryan was her biological child! So he should be close to her!

"Elara." Ryan's sweet voice interrupted Lisa's thoughts. He grabbed her hand, his big eyes watery. "Can I sleep with you now?"

At home, he had almost fallen asleep when a strange voice in his heart told him he really wanted Elara.

Ryan didn't understand the feeling but came anyway. He wanted to be with Elara!

Lisa put her phone under the pillow and patted the spot next to her. "Come up. If there's a chance, you can sleep with me every night."

Lisa's words had a deeper meaning, but Ryan didn't understand.

He happily climbed up from the other side and hesitated before hugging Lisa's waist. "Being with you is the happiest thing in the world!"

"Really?"

"Yes!"

Lisa was pleased and kissed his forehead as a reward. "Then go to sleep, sweetie."

In her heart, she thought, 'As long as you help me get what I want, I'll stay by your side every day and never let you leave me!'

Ryan, smelling her scent, quickly fell asleep.

In his dream, they were a big family.

Somehow, Ryan felt like he had entered a new world. Even though everyone was around, they seemed so distant.

There were two dads, a mommy, Harper, Ethan, and Brian.

They moved into a new house next to a large forest. The family planned a picnic, preparing lots of delicious food and fun activities.

He was thrilled, holding Sarah's hand. "Mommy, you're pregnant, so be careful. I'll hold you!"

He was rewarded by Sarah.

Sarah said, "Ryan is so good! Thank you, Ryan!"

Ryan felt extremely satisfied. When he looked up, he saw Harper smiling at him. "Ryan is amazing; you can protect Mommy now!"

Ethan also ran over and grabbed Sarah's other hand. "I'll protect Mommy with Ryan too!"

Everyone's faces were filled with happiness. The two dads walked ahead, occasionally turning back to look at them.

Suddenly, someone grabbed Ryan's hand from behind.

He turned around and saw a strange woman.
