Chapter 27 Lisa Actually Dares to Bully Harper
Sarah thought, 'Did the wedding get wrecked 'cause the kids messed it up? Didn't he used to be all lovey-dovey with Lisa? Now it looks like he ain't that genuine. What a jerk!'
Antonio was about to say something, but just then, Harper, who had calmed down, came downstairs.
"Luna, I'm starving," Harper's sweet, innocent voice cut through the tension. Seeing Harper's smile, Sarah felt a wave of relief.
It was almost dinner time, and with Lisa's earlier drama, Sarah had nearly forgotten about making dinner.
Sarah smiled at Harper and asked, "What do you wanna eat?"
Harper's eyes lit up. "I want curry noodles!"
Antonio's face soured at the mention of the dish.
"Alright. I'll whip up dinner now."
Sarah ignored Antonio and headed to the kitchen.
Out of nowhere, Antonio said, "I'll have dinner here too."
Before Sarah could react, he pulled out his phone and called James, "Push back tonight's engagement."
Harper cheered inside. 'Yay, Antonio does great. we could have dinner together!'
But Sarah wasn't thrilled.
She'd made countless dinners for Antonio before. Now, she didn't want to cook for him at all.
She lowered her head, thinking for a moment, a sly look in her eyes. Seeing Antonio hang up, she asked, "Mr. Valencia, you want curry noodles too?"
Antonio's face twisted in disgust, then he looked at Sarah with a meaningful tone. "No, just make me some pasta like before."
Sarah looked surprised and said, "Sorry, Mr. Valencia, I only know how to make curry noodles."
Antonio's face darkened instantly.
Meanwhile, after leaving the villa, Lisa took Ryan to a fancy restaurant.
She piled on more makeup in the car, but it couldn't hide the swollen slap mark. Finally, she angrily put on a mask and got out of the car.
Ryan didn't dare say a word, watching Lisa's expression the whole time. The car door slammed shut, making him shiver. He quickly jumped out of the car.
At the table, Lisa replayed the earlier scenes in her head, getting angrier and angrier, almost crushing the water glass in her hand.
Ryan hung his head, looking like he had committed a grave mistake.
He was starving. The restaurant was filled with mouth-watering aromas, and waiters frequently passed by with dishes. He licked his lips at the sight of the food.
After hesitating for a long time, he softly asked, "Mom, I'm hungry. Aren't we ordering?"
But his question got him a scolding.
"What else can you do besides eat?"
Lisa slammed the glass on the table, spilling hot water everywhere, even hitting Ryan's face.
"What use are you? Couldn't even stop your dad from getting taken! That Harper, so sly and young, playing nice with your old man. And you, just sitting there, dumb as a rock."
She vented all her anger on Ryan. His scalp tingled from the scolding, and he shrank his neck, almost burying his head in his chest. He didn't dare wipe the water off his face, silently enduring Lisa's wrath. He held back his tears because he remembered that Lisa hated it when he cried.
At a nearby table, Ethan and Michael were eating.
The harsh words reached Ethan's ears, and his usually calm face was filled with anger.
He hadn't expected to run into the detestable Lisa while out for a meal, and it seemed she had bullied Harper at Antonio's house!
He glared at Lisa with disdain. Her shrewish behavior disgusted him.
Bad woman, daring to bully his beloved Harper and disturb his meal. He was determined to teach her a lesson today!
Ethan quickly came up with a plan, a glint of mischief in his eyes. He jumped off his chair, saying, "Michael, I'm going to the bathroom."
Without waiting for Michael's response, he quickly ran off.
Michael looked puzzled. Ethan had just gone to the bathroom a few minutes ago. Could he have an upset stomach?
Ethan ran into the kitchen. Being small and nimble, no one noticed him.
A few minutes later, the waiter brought a dish to Lisa. The large plate had a cover and was surrounded by dry ice, emitting smoke, looking very fancy, attracting a lot of attention.
Lisa's anger subsided a bit. She straightened her back, acting all high and mighty. However, when the waiter lifted the lid, to her surprise, there was a frog sitting on the plate!
When Lisa locked eyes with the frog, she was stunned.
The next second, the frog suddenly jumped towards Lisa's chest, and her piercing scream echoed through the restaurant. "Ah!"
