Chapter 241 Sarah Must Not Get Hurt!

However, Antonio's movements were swift, leaving Sarah unable to see clearly in time. The red silk had already been hoisted high, beyond her reach, even on tiptoe.

Sarah couldn't resist lifting her gaze to the tall, imposing man beside her. Renowned in the business world, he now stood with her in this humble setting. His eyes, gentle as water, seemed focused solely on her.

Instinctively, Sarah tightened her grip on Antonio's hand, silently urging him not to fret. In reality, her heart mirrored his concerns.

At that moment, the people around them exclaimed in surprise and pointed excitedly at the sky. Following their gaze, Sarah looked up and saw the sky gradually darkening. Amidst the gray and slightly blackened sky, the moon appeared, and several shooting stars streaked across the sky.

She clasped her hands together and made a heartfelt wish upon the shooting stars. Since they could witness such a rare and beautiful sight, she prayed for their everlasting happiness, free from any difficulties or misunderstandings.

Hand in hand, they left the temple, and much of the awkwardness and silence between them had disappeared. Under the quiet night sky, their figures, one tall and one short, were closely intertwined.

On the way back to the hotel, Sarah felt tired and leaned her head on Antonio's shoulder, falling asleep in exhaustion. Antonio kept holding her hand, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Suddenly, Antonio raised his head slightly and looked outside through the car window. He realized that the car wasn't heading toward the hotel but instead going toward the outskirts.

Immediately, he became alert and held Sarah's hand even tighter. Sensing his grip, Sarah opened her slightly weary eyes.

Puzzled, she furrowed her brows and was about to ask Antonio what was happening. However, she noticed that he was deep in thought, staring outside with a focused gaze.

Following his line of sight, Sarah also realized that something was wrong. This wasn't the way back to the hotel.

"Driver, did you take the wrong direction? We're supposed to go back to the hotel, right?" Sarah asked cautiously. She held Antonio's hand, feeling a slight nervousness in her heart.

The driver clearly heard Sarah but didn't say anything. Instead, he accelerated the speed of the car!

Sarah's heart raced with anxiety.

Antonio held Sarah tightly in his arms, his eyes reflecting understanding, though he remained silent, eager to decipher the driver's intentions.

Suddenly, the driver executed a skillful turn, drifting the car and bringing it to a halt in a deserted forest.

With a deafening bang, another car materialized out of thin air, colliding with theirs!

In an instant, white smoke enveloped their car, signaling the imminent threat of an explosion.

Without pause, Antonio gripped Sarah, prepared to exit the vehicle, only to discover that all the doors were locked!

"What... Ah..." Sarah asked anxiously, but before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly felt a hand grabbing her wrist, causing her to scream in terror.

It turned out that the driver wanted to harm Sarah!

Antonio swiftly reached out and grabbed the driver's hand, twisting it forcefully, causing the driver to grimace and release his grip in pain.

"Go to hell, all of you!"

He suddenly went mad, roaring furiously while brandishing a sharp dagger, slashing fiercely towards Antonio.

This sudden turn of events petrified Sarah.

Antonio shielded her from the dagger, but his body collided with the car frame, causing him to wince in pain. However, he still held onto Sarah tightly and immediately protected her behind him.

With a powerful elbow strike, Antonio dodged the driver's attack with the dagger, knocking him down onto the passenger seat. He quickly bent down to find the ignition key.

"Let's go!"

He opened the car door and pulled Sarah out, supporting her with one hand as they hurriedly escaped from the car.

Gradually recovering from the shock, Sarah followed Antonio in their escape.

Just as the two of them exited the car, the driver quickly crawled out from the passenger seat. His eyes burned with anger as he grasped the dagger tightly, chasing after them.

Beneath Antonio's deep gaze, a chilling aura emerged. "Who sent you?!"

The driver, dressed in black clothes, revealed a murderous intent in his eyes. Ignoring Antonio's question, he tightened his grip on the dagger and spoke with malice, "Today is your death day!"

Seeing the driver's arrogance, every muscle in Antonio's body tensed. "Whether it's our death day or not, it's not up to you to decide."

The cold determination in Antonio's eyes resembled a sharp sword aimed straight at the black-clothed man.

With a taunting laugh, the black-clothed man said, "Haha, what a joke, just with you..."

Without waiting for a response, he swung the dagger towards them, aiming each strike to be lethal.

Due to his need to protect Sarah, Antonio narrowly avoided the dagger several times, sustaining cuts on his arm.

This guy really knows how to handle a weapon!

An unsettling feeling arose within Antonio.

While defending against the black-clothed man's attacks, he pushed Sarah forward. "Run!"

No matter what, he must ensure that Sarah escapes unscathed.
