Chapter 254 You're already my husband

Sarah ignored his surprise and continued, "It's very difficult for me to raise children alone. I thought that we would never cross paths again, but fate brought us back together because of our children.

"Perhaps that's destiny. People who are destined to be together can reunite no matter how far apart they are, while those without destiny can only be ordinary friends even if they're face to face, don't you think?"

Richard's throat tightened. He finally understood why Sarah had told him all this. She was telling him that there was no destiny between them, and she couldn't give him any chance, not even a tiny one.

Yet, she rejected him with such gentleness. Richard nodded, feeling uneasy.

Sarah smiled and said, "As long as you understand. After experiencing so much, he really is important to me. That kind of significance cannot be replaced by anyone. But regardless, you are our savior. If you ever need help in the future, just let us know, and we will be there for you."

She spoke with sincerity, making Richard feel guilty.

"I'm sorry, I understand what you mean. From now on, I won't do anything foolish again."

Thinking about his actions, Richard felt deep remorse.

Sarah comforted him, "I wish for you to find someone to spend the rest of your life with soon."

Richard glanced at Sarah and smiled in resignation, but his gaze still lingered on her, reluctant to let go.

Not far away, Antonio had been listening to their conversation the whole time.

Upon hearing that he was important to her, a warm smile involuntarily appeared in his eyes.

Then, he fiercely glared at the back of Richard's head. 'He really underestimated me!'

After the two finished talking, they both stood up.

Richard noticed a gaze behind him and turned around to find Antonio there as well. He felt embarrassed, realizing he had lost his senses earlier.

Taking a deep breath, he walked up to Antonio and apologized, "About what happened earlier... I'm sorry."

Antonio just coldly responded with an "Mhm" and then took Sarah's hand, leading her back.

Richard watched the couple's well-matched figures, sighed silently, and had to admit that they were indeed a perfect match.

Antonio remained silent with a serious expression on his face, while Sarah understood that he was still concerned about Richard. She couldn't help but console him, "Alright, you're already my husband. Don't be mad at an outsider..."

She tugged at Antonio's hand, her voice soft and with a hint of coaxing.

Upon hearing her call him her husband for the first time, Antonio suddenly crouched down, his eyes shining brightly. The discomfort he felt earlier dissipated.

Antonio held her hand tightly, his gaze intense. "Then, say the things you said to Richard earlier once again."

Sarah realized that he had heard everything she and Richard had said. Her cheeks blushed instantly, and she pushed Antonio away while taking off the opposite direction.

Antonio turned around and started running.

"Oh, how naïve!" he exclaimed.

Her figure danced before Antonio's eyes, who couldn't help but smile. He caught up with Sarah and held her hand once again as they ran and skipped back.

After a while, Antonio broached the topic. "It's not sustainable for us to continue like this. If nobody finds us, we can't just sit here and wait.

"We need to find a boat, but this fishing village doesn't have any high-tech equipment. They only have small boats, which would be difficult to navigate through treacherous waters. We need to acquire a boat that meets the basic requirements."

Antonio shared the idea he had been contemplating.

Even if they couldn't find a large boat, they would have to leave this village, even if it meant building one from scratch.

Sarah pondered his words and proposed, "Why don't we search first? Richard mentioned that the villagers used to venture out to the open sea, but hardly any of them returned. However, if they were able to set sail in the past, they must have left behind at least one large boat, even if it's just wreckage."

They locked eyes and made up their minds.

They went door to door inquiring about the existence of a large boat in the fishing village.

Upon hearing their quest for a boat, one fisherman thought for a moment and decided to confide in them.

"I remember the village chief being the only person who returned safely from a voyage to the far sea. He should know a way."

"Really? Thank you!"

Upon hearing that there might be a way, Sarah's eyes filled with excitement.

They immediately followed the direction pointed out by the fisherman to find the village chief.

Arriving at the village chief's house, Sarah spotted an elderly man with snow-white hair sitting in the courtyard, tinkering with some small gadgets.

Sarah exchanged a glance with Antonio, then took a step forward and cautiously asked, "Are you the village chief?"

Upon seeing someone approaching him, the old man didn't express any surprise but stood up directly. "You've come to see me about going to sea, haven't you..."

Seeing that the village chief was aware of their purpose, Sarah didn't hide anything and shared their intentions.

The old man let out a long sigh. He had heard of these two young people who were saved.

"Do you really have to go back? The open sea is extremely dangerous, and once you venture out, all sorts of disasters may occur..."
