Chapter 239 Public Display of Affection, Social Death!

Antonio spoke and lovingly rubbed her head.

"I'm not a child anymore. Why would I like these things?"

She glanced at the candied hawthorn and a bag of snacks in her hand, feeling somewhat helpless.

“Then give them to me."

Seeing that she didn't seem to like them, Antonio reached out for her to give them to him.

But she quickly dodged his hand. "There's no reason to give something and then take it back."

After saying that, she took a bite of a candied hawthorn, savoring the sour and sweet taste she had loved since childhood. She couldn't help but glance at Antonio by her side.

When did he start remembering all these small preferences of hers so clearly? It had been such a long time since they were separated, yet it felt like he could still remember everything as if they had been repeated thousands of times.

While passing by a clay sculpture shop, Sarah was called by the owner.

"Miss, care to make a couple of clay figurines? Couples who make clay sculptures at our shop tend to stay together for a long time. Look, we have so many satisfied customers today."

The owner warmly greeted Sarah and pointed towards his shop.

Sarah followed the direction the owner indicated and saw many loving couples sitting inside the clay sculpture shop.

She hesitated for a moment, then refused and prepared to walk away. "Forget it, I don't believe in these things."
The owner quickly blocked Antonio and showed him their collection of customers' fulfillment records. "Hey, young man, your girlfriend doesn't believe. We really have many satisfied customers here."
In that thick, densely written booklet were accounts of who came back to fulfill their wishes, who got happily married in which year and on which day, along with some blessings for the future.

"Let's go in and take a look," he said, pulling Sarah towards the shop.

Sarah hesitated. "It's probably fake… just a gimmick!" she whispered in Antonio's ear, not wanting to hinder other people's business.

Antonio, however, shook his head firmly and stated with a solemn voice, "Even if it's fake, I still want to give it a try."

Upon hearing this, Sarah was flooded with mixed emotions within her.

Knowing that he cares about their relationship, Sarah felt both happy and unsettled because she always felt that Antonio lacked a sense of security. As long as their feelings were strong for each other, they didn't need these illusions at all. She really didn't know where this insecurity in Antonio came from.

Was it because of the long period of separation between them? Or… because of someone else?

After entering the shop, the owner brought the materials for making clay figurines and the necessary tools for them.

Antonio pulled her to sit down first and then helped her put on the tools for making clay figurines.

She sat there, allowing Antonio to assist her, watching his gentle and careful movements, temporarily forgetting all her worries.

"You can refer to this illustrated guide for the decorations."

The shopkeeper handed them an illustrated book as he spoke.

Antonio took it and looked around, pointing at a picture of a cherry blossom tree on a base.

"What about this one?" he asked.

She leaned over to have a look, her eyes narrowing slightly. He remembered that she liked cherry blossoms.

"Hmm, this one will do," she said with a slight smile. "Let's get started."

Antonio got dressed and was about to sit next to her when she looked at him with surprise, furrowing her brows in confusion.

"Aren't we supposed to work individually?"

She looked at Antonio, puzzled. They were supposed to each have their own set of tools and work on their own pieces. Why was he sitting next to her?

Seeing that she hadn't understood the situation, the shopkeeper quickly reminded her, "Miss, the couples in our shop always work together on our clay sculptures. That's what makes it meaningful."

She looked around and noticed all the couples sitting together, working on their sculptures. Some couples even had a particularly affectionate distance between them, looking like a man cradling a woman intimately from afar.

Sarah quickly averted her gaze, her face blushing.

Antonio was also dressed and ready, so Sarah immediately rolled up her sleeves, eager to start.

Although she thought it was superstitious, she was still interested in making clay sculptures, as she had always enjoyed handicrafts.

Antonio brought a chair and sat behind her, and she could faintly sense his familiar and charming male presence. Unexplainably, she felt a bit nervous.

His hands touched the back of hers, guiding her hands toward the tools for making clay sculptures. Sarah felt an electric shock run through her when his hands touched hers.

She glanced up at Antonio and saw him focusing intently on his work, his gaze seemingly unable to shift away. As if sensing her gaze, Antonio paused his hands that were rolling the clay sculpture.

His deep eyes turned and met hers, and Sarah felt like she could see the deep affection brewing in his eyes. When he looked at her, his eyes exuded tenderness.

She felt her heart becoming incredibly soft in a trance, like a fluffy cloud in the sky.

The ambiguous atmosphere in the air gradually heated up, and she instinctively glanced around. Seeing that everyone was immersed in their own creations, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. After all, displaying affection in front of a crowd was truly embarrassing...
