Chapter 54 Stop Dreaming of Escaping

Hearing the ice in Sarah's voice, Antonio's eyes went dark. "How you feelin'? Where's it hurt? Spill it."

"None of your damn business!" Sarah snapped, her anger making her forget the pain for a sec.

She pushed herself up. "Antonio, cut the crap. You want me gone, right? Just let me go, save yourself the hassle."

Antonio's lips tightened into a thin line. He wasn't happy but kept quiet. Instead, he got up, poured a glass of water, checked the temp, and brought it over. "You're not healed yet. Chill out and drink some water."

Sarah shot back, "I don't want it!"

Antonio's face got even darker, holding back his anger. "Quit the drama!"

"I said I don't want it. Are you deaf?" Sarah swatted the glass out of his hand, smashing it on the floor.

Antonio stared at the mess, the fire in his eyes flaring up again.

He glared at Sarah, "Sarah, don't push me."

Sarah suddenly laughed, her lips curling in mockery. "I don't need your fake concern. Save it for someone who cares!"

"What did you just say?" Antonio almost roared.

She looked exhausted, pale, barely holding herself up, but still staring him down with defiance. Her eyes screamed rejection, like a wounded kitten, weak but still proud.

The sight stabbed Antonio right in the heart.

Sarah's smile faded, and she gripped the blanket. "Mr. Valencia, tons of women want you. You can have anyone with a snap. So why me?"

Did he think one night by her side would change anything?

If it wasn't for his constant chasing, she wouldn't be hurt at all!

Antonio stepped closer, towering over her, anger radiating off him. "Sarah, after all these years, you've really grown some guts, huh? How dare you keep pushing me?"

Sarah looked up coldly. He was tall and strong, but that didn't mean he could do whatever he wanted.

"Antonio, get it straight. You're the one who won't leave me alone. I don't want to see you, don't want anything to do with you. I wish you'd vanish from my life forever!"

He could marry whoever, have kids with whoever, she didn't care.

She just wanted to save Brady, take the kids back home abroad, and never come back, never see Antonio again!

Thinking this, she forced herself out of bed, but Antonio grabbed her.

"Let go. Let me go!" Sarah struggled, but she was too weak to break free.

"Not a chance! Even if you die, I won't let you go!" Antonio's grip tightened in his anger, but seeing Sarah's face twist in pain, he remembered her injury and let go.

Sarah threw off the blanket and stood up.

But then, dizziness hit her, and she clutched her head.

Seeing this, Antonio remembered the doctor mentioning a possible concussion, and his brows furrowed.

He grabbed Sarah's shoulders and shoved her back onto the bed. "Move again, and I'll tie you down!"

Sarah was dizzy and hurting. Hearing Antonio's threat, she knew he wasn't messing around and stopped struggling.

After a bit, Sarah felt a little better and shot daggers at Antonio.

Seeing the bandage on his forehead, she couldn't help but sneer. She'd actually worried about killing him last night. Now, she wished she'd hit him harder!

Right now, to save Brady, she had to suck it up.

Wait. Where was the surveillance tape?

Sarah realized the tape she’d busted her butt to find was missing. She glared at Antonio. "Where's the surveillance tape? Hand it over!"

Antonio frowned and shot back, "Oh, right. You broke into my office last night to steal something. We haven't even talked about that yet."

"How dare you accuse me?" Sarah's lips trembled with rage. "You had someone swipe the hotel's surveillance tape."

If he hadn't taken that tape, she wouldn't have had to go to such lengths to steal it!

Antonio squinted. "What did you say? Say it again."

Sarah heard the threat in his voice but didn't back down. She smirked coldly, "Fine!"

Might as well settle this now!

"Lisa and Lusa framed Brady, got him taken away, and you took the tape to cover for them! I heard it with my own ears, don't even try to deny it!"

"Heard it with your own ears?" Antonio caught that phrase and thought for a moment. Suddenly, it clicked. "So, the maid at Lisa's house that day was you."

He'd felt something was off that day, and now he knew why.

Busted, Sarah didn't care and admitted, "Yeah, it was me! I really regret not putting more pepper in that soup to poison you!"

Seeing Sarah's hateful expression, something snapped in Antonio's mind.

She kept saying she hated him and wanted him dead.

Antonio's face darkened, and he stepped forward, gripping her chin with his long fingers. "Sarah, do you hate me that much?"

Antonio looked down at her, his eyes dark and intense, like they could swallow her whole.

Sarah grabbed his hand, her nails digging into his flesh, gritting her teeth. "“Yes, I detest you! I could devour your soul!"

His grip on her neck tightened suddenly, and Sarah couldn't breathe. Her face turned red, her mouth open, but no sound came out. Yet her eyes stayed defiant.

Suddenly, his hand loosened. Sarah gasped for air and started coughing violently.

She coughed for a long time before she could breathe normally again. Just as she was about to curse him out, he grabbed her chin again.

Antonio's hand gripped her chin tightly, forcing her to look at him. "In that case, Sarah, don't ever think about escaping from me."

Sarah swatted his hand away, and Antonio sneered, straightening up and dialing a number.

In less than five minutes, a bunch of tall, burly guys in black showed up at the door. Antonio glanced at Sarah one last time, then turned and walked out.

"Watch her closely, don't let her out of your sight!"

As soon as he finished, Sarah's weak but fierce voice rang out. "Antonio, you bastard! If you have the guts, don't restrict my freedom."

Of course, Antonio heard her, but he ignored her anger and walked away without looking back.
