Chapter 180 Who is Her Biological Father?
"Now you believe, right? I already consider you my brother and won't allow you to leave me... This is your home," Harper said.
Every time Brian and Ethan were feeling down in the past, all they needed was a kiss from her to make them feel better. This move was really effective!
Unfortunately, Sarah happened to pass by the stairs and witnessed this scene. She paused for a moment, hesitated, and then walked towards the two kids.
"What's wrong, Harper?"
As soon as Harper saw Sarah, she ran over and hugged Sarah's leg, using her sweet and childish voice to act spoiled, "Mommy, please don't let Ryan leave. I want him to be my brother. I don't want him to go or live with that mean grandpa."
Sarah was taken aback but quickly rubbed her daughter's hair helplessly, smiling gently. "Mommy didn't ask him to leave."
What happened? Why did my well-behaved daughter suddenly say this?
Harper smiled and approached Ryan. "That's great! Ryan, look, Mommy didn't tell you to leave. Don't be sad."
Ryan was stunned by her beautiful smile and nodded silently after a while.
Seeing this, Sarah walked towards Ryan, bent down, and softly said, "Don't overthink it... This place is your home, too."
Her voice was very gentle, instantly soothing Ryan's lingering sadness.
Sarah lowered her gaze; in her heart, no matter how bad Lisa was, it had nothing to do with Ryan. She wouldn't blame innocent people, let alone a child who knew nothing.
Seeing Ryan in a much better mood, Sarah took Harper back to the room.
After entering the room, Sarah closed the door and looked at Harper, who was still lazily lying on the sofa. She touched Harper's head. "Harper, don't kiss boys casually in the future."
Harper tilted her head, not understanding why Sarah said that. "But he's my big brother."
She frequently kissed Brian and Ethan, so she didn't feel any difference now.
"Mommy means that you are almost five years old now, gradually growing up... You can only kiss the boys you like when you grow up." Sarah looked at her daughter's innocent look and smiled helplessly.
Harper earnestly looked at her mother and said seriously, "But I really like Ryan now!" Sarah chuckled, thinking it was just a joke from a little girl, and didn't continue the topic.
"By the way, Mommy, the evil woman's mom came to the villa today and wanted to bully us... It's because of her that Ryan was so unhappy." Harper pouted, but her discontent gradually disappeared as she recalled Sharon being thrown out by the bodyguard in the end.
Sarah was stunned to hear this. "Did she do anything to you? Are you hurt? What did she do to you guys?"
"All three of us are fine. The bodyguard threw her out. Mommy, you don't need to worry."
The two of them continued chatting, their voices filled with warmth and love.
Just as they were talking, Ethan's voice came from outside the door: "Mommy, Uncle Brady is here to see you."
Sarah was taken aback. Before she could react, she saw her daughter running out like a little rabbit, opening the door...
As they came downstairs, Harper saw Brady and shouted excitedly, "Uncle, Harper missed you so much!"
Brady looked at Harper running towards him and smiled gently, bending down to lift her up and giving her a kiss. "I missed you too..."
Harper was even cuter than Sarah was when she was little, so lovable.
It had been a long time since they last saw each other, and Brady had recently seen the news about all that had happened around Sarah.
"Brother..."
Sarah came out of the room and saw Harper cuddling with Brady.
"Sarah, you've been through so much recently. Why didn't you tell me?" Brady clenched his fist, and his eyes slightly reddened at the thought of what Lisa had done.
He felt he had been an inadequate brother!
"It's all fine now. It's all in the past, Brady" Sarah said, looking at the two children and gesturing for them to go play.
After the children left, Sarah and Brady sat down on the couch.
Before she could say anything, Brady furrowed his brows and asked, "Ethan said you've temporarily decided to stay? Why? Have you forgotten how Antonio hurt you in the past?"
Brady's face darkened as he talked about Antonio.
He had been holding a grudge over what happened five years ago. He thought he could escape Antonio's clutches eventually, but his sister came back for him and got involved with Antonio again.
He didn't want Sarah to be hurt anymore.
"What happened five years ago... was actually a misunderstanding. It's not what it seemed to be," Sarah said softly.
"A misunderstanding?"
"Yes, it was just a misunderstanding..."
After Sara explained the situation to Brady, she noticed Brady breathing a sigh of relief.
"Since... this is your decision, I will support you as your brother," Brady said, knowing Sarah didn't want to continue this topic.
He naturally changed the subject, "By the way, I've found a new job recently, and it's not bad."
Hearing this, Sarah smiled.
"That's great. Well... I'm also considering whether or not to find a job. After all, I have to think about it since I'll be staying in the country for a while."
Sarah leaned against the couch, her thoughts drifting elsewhere despite her words. She cast a meaningful glance at Brady before tentatively asking, "Brady... did Mom ever confide in you about something when she was alive? Something I might not have known?"
Brady was puzzled, "What?"
Seeing this, Sarah no longer beat around the bush and said directly, "John Miller told me that we're not his children."
Unexpectedly, when these words came out, she didn't see any shock on Brady's face. Instead... it was tinged with darkness.
Could it be that Brady knew?
Brady looked at his sister, sighed helplessly, and said, "Isn't it better you are not that scum's offspring?"
Sarah was rendered speechless.
It's true what Brady said, but Sarah wanted to know even more who their biological father was.
