Chapter 677 You Owe Me an Explanation
He drove the car while sorting through all the recent information in his mind, gradually forming a complete chain of information, but it was not enough to uncover the truth behind it.
But he could confirm that Harold did all these things seemingly to sabotage his relationship with Sarah, preventing them from staying together.
Moreover, he even wanted to put them on opposing sides.
Otherwise, there wouldn't have been the acquisition of the Valencia family.
Given that Harold had planned so much, it was absolutely impossible that this was all he intended to do; he must have other purposes!
Thinking of this, Benjamin felt a lingering fear and was once again glad that he hadn't impulsively told Sarah and the kids the truth. Otherwise, it would have been too dangerous!
In Benjamin's eyes, Harold had plotted so much, so there must be more schemes!
Benjamin had never doubted his relationship with Harold. After all, from their appearance, it was clear they were biological father and son.
Moreover, he was indeed adopted by the Valencia family, so from this perspective, Harold had no reason to lie.
So, he was indeed Harold's son.
However, so what if they were related by blood?
No matter what Harold was up to, what he had done had already crossed Benjamin's bottom line!
Between them, it was only about winning or losing!
Benjamin sneered and temporarily suppressed these thoughts.
He now had a vague guess and had to continue investigating based on that!
The car sped along the overpass and soon stopped in the garage of a villa.
This was where Benjamin and Isabella lived in the Capital city.
Benjamin walked in with a heavy heart.
He and Isabella didn't live together at all; they each lived on a different floor, like strangers sharing a house.
But even so, after regaining his memory, Benjamin felt a deep sense of disgust when he walked in here.
'If Sarah knows I'm living with Isabella, she would definitely be very unhappy,' he thought. He blamed himself for having lost his memory for so long.
Although he hadn't done anything unfaithful to Sarah, he believed this was already a form of betrayal!
'I'm despicable! I've betrayed my feelings for Sarah!' he cursed himself.
Benjamin walked into the room and thought of the time he had accompanied Isabella to pick out furniture, feeling even more distressed.
It was like a sword was piercing into his heart.
Those were things he was only supposed to do with Sarah.
Now there was an Isabella.
Benjamin felt himself like a sinner. Although Sarah didn't know the whole truth yet, she would find out one day.
'Will she forgive me? Will she blame me? Whatever, I can't even forgive myself now,' he thought.
He smiled bitterly, his gaze sweeping over every piece of furniture in the room, finding it all extremely offensive.
In the darkness, a heavy gloom spread across his handsome face.
After a long time, Benjamin took out a lighter from the drawer and ignited it with a click. His smile was chilling.
Ten minutes later, the villa caught fire, and the growing flames were out of control.
The sleeping people were awakened.
"What's going on?"
"There's a fire! Put it out quickly!"
"Call 911!"
All the servants in the villa ran out in a panic.
But when they saw the figure at the door, they were so scared they froze.
The door was wide open, and Benjamin stood there, coldly watching everything.
The firelight obscured his facial features, and smoke swirled around him, making it seem like he was in a separate world, like a demon crawling out of hell.
The servants didn't know what was going on.
However, after they came to their senses, they quickly fetched water to put out the fire.
At this time, Isabella also ran downstairs, her eyes streaming with tears from the smoke.
"How did the fire get so big all of a sudden?" she asked.
A servant, coughing from the smoke, replied, "I don't know, maybe it's an electrical issue. Anyway, we should get out of here, Ms. Moore! It's too dangerous inside!"
The fire was now completely out of control and was about to reach the upper floor!
Isabella, scared, walked to the door, only to see that Benjamin, who had been missing all day, had somehow returned!
He stood at the door, indifferent, with a handsome yet cold expression.
Isabella couldn't hold back her tears anymore and grabbed him, asking, "Benjamin, where did you go after leaving me alone at the engagement party today? Why are you coming back now?"
She was already terrified by the fire in the villa, but Benjamin standing there without coming to find her made her feel even worse.
'Does he really not care about me at all?' Isabella thought, feeling both angry and sad, her eyes filled with grievance.
But Benjamin just glanced at her coldly and said nothing, turning back to watch the flames rise.
A servant, covering their mouth and nose, reminded, "Mr. Harrington, Ms. Moore, we should get out of here. The fire is getting bigger, and it's too dangerous to stay here!"
Isabella didn't get a response from Benjamin and felt a bit frustrated.
The servant was right; they had to get out first.
She tugged at Benjamin and said, "Benjamin, let's go."
Benjamin looked at her, originally intending to watch everything burn to ashes.
But now, he suddenly grabbed Isabella's hand and strode outside.
Isabella was almost dragged out by him, her wrist hurting from his grip. She complained, "Benjamin, you're hurting me!"
She didn't understand why Benjamin was so angry.
Benjamin acted as if he didn't hear her, only letting go of her hand once they were outside.
Everyone gathered in the yard in chaos. From the outside, thick smoke billowed from the villa, which would soon be destroyed.
Isabella coughed violently, her face flushed.
A bodyguard handed her some water from the car, and she felt a bit better after drinking a few sips.
"Benjamin, are you okay?" she asked.
Isabella checked him from head to toe, relieved to find he was only covered in some dust. "Thank goodness you're not hurt."
After saying this, she remembered that he hadn't answered her earlier question. Her hand dropped, and her expression became downcast.
Today had been a day of near collapse for her.
She was abandoned by the one she loved in front of everyone.
It was such a painful feeling.
And now, Benjamin was back, but he seemed completely different from before!
He was so cold that she didn't dare to approach him!
'So, is his recent tenderness just my illusion?' she thought.
The servants didn't dare to disturb Benjamin and cautiously approached Isabella, "Ms. Moore, what should we do now?"
"How should I know what to do!" she shouted.
For the first time, Isabella lost control of her emotions in front of the servants, shouting, "Wait for the fire department, what else! If you can't handle these things, what's the point of employing you!"
"Okay, we understand."
The servant left with a pale face, and Isabella realized her emotions had been unstable. She took a deep breath.
Sweat beaded on her forehead, and it took her a while to calm down and look at the proud figure of Benjamin beside her.
"Benjamin, don't you think you owe me an explanation?" she asked.
A tear slid down her cheek as she said, "Do you know that in everyone's eyes, I've now become someone abandoned by my fiancé?"
Benjamin's eyes showed no extra emotion, and his piercing gaze fell on her as he coldly said, "I can give you an explanation, but I think you owe me one too."
