Chapter 379 Is Mr. Valencia Falling in Love with Someone Else?
Antonio stood up and blocked Sarah, whose eyes were turning red.
"No, what brings you here?" he asked.
He didn't want Serene to see Sarah in tears.
However, Serene persisted, "Sarah, are you okay? Is Antonio's condition getting worse?"
Serene intentionally brought up this topic, as it had nothing to do with their argument. But she was concerned about Antonio's health, while Sarah was only focused on their argument, revealing their differing priorities.
"I told you I'm fine. Why did you come here? If there's nothing important, please leave," Antonio's cold tone instantly extinguished Serene's intention to continue questioning.
Serene was shocked; she had never seen Antonio like this before. Previously, he always appeared calm in front of her, and she had never witnessed him getting so angry over something. Even when she made unreasonable demands, he had never been so furious.
Having composed herself, Sarah pushed Antonio away. "Ms. Jerrett, just say what you came here for."
Antonio looked at Sarah's profile and opened his mouth to speak but ultimately remained silent.
Serene regained her composure and forced a smile. "Oh, I see. There currently isn't a good treatment plan for my leg, but I can't stay here anymore. I came here to bid you farewell."
"Your injury hasn't healed yet. Maybe wait for a couple more days and get a thorough check-up? This hospital is well-known for such surgeries," Sarah said, worried about Serene's leg.
After all, it would be very unfortunate if she had to limp for the rest of her life.
Serene looked pitiful, her eyes slightly teary. "Sarah, you know my father is still in the hospital. I can't stay here, I'm worried."
Serene's eyes turned slightly red as if she was suppressing immense sadness as she spoke.
Sarah sighed. Indeed, if Serene had surgery there, no one would take care of Kevin back home.
"You're right. I'll contact the doctors over there for you."
"Sarah, don't bother. Antonio's injury hasn't healed yet, so you don't need to worry about me and my leg. I've given up hope." Serene lowered her head. "You two can talk. I'll take my leave. "
"Hold on." Antonio stopped Serene. "We are also returning home. Let's go together."
Sarah discreetly bit her lip, feeling somewhat uneasy. Yet deep down, she knew she had made this decision. After all, she couldn't let Serene go back alone, and traveling on her own wouldn't be convenient.
Serene had been waiting for these words. Still, she feigned surprise...
"Wouldn't that be too troublesome considering your injury..."
"I have to return to the company to handle business. I had originally planned to be discharged today." Antonio coldly looked at Serene. "Ms. Jerrett, go back to the ward and pack your things. We'll leave tonight."
"We're leaving tonight? Isn't that too rushed?"
Serene felt fortunate that she arrived on time; otherwise, she would have been left behind by Antonio.
"No, your leg situation is not very convenient. You'll travel with us on a private plane. I've already made arrangements," Antonio said in a flat tone.
Antonio acted quickly, and the conflict between him and Sarah didn't delve further nor receive a satisfactory resolution.
Both were preoccupied with their thoughts. Even when they boarded the plane, it remained silent.
"Take good care of Ms. Jerrett's leg and be careful not to injure her," Antonio instructed the flight attendants on his private plane.
They were primarily present for convenience during the journey and didn't have much to do otherwise.
The flight attendants naturally recognized Sarah but were unfamiliar with Serene, who boarded the plane with them.
The head flight attendant stood at the front, following Antonio's orders.
"Ms. Jerrett, if you need anything, just tell them. Be careful not to hurt your leg, and call me if there's any problem." Antonio's words were considerate, yet his expression remained indifferent, devoid of any personal touch. Meanwhile, his tone was purely businesslike.
Although Serene was somewhat annoyed, she considered it worthwhile since she could receive such treatment after faking her illness.
After giving instructions, Antonio returned to his seat.
Sarah sat in front of him. He wanted to start a conversation with her several times but never found the words.
The flight attendants waiting in the front began to gossip.
"Who is this Ms. Jerrett? She made Mr. Valencia ignore Mrs. Valencia."
"I have to say, this lady has quite the attitude. Not only did Mr. Valencia bring along another woman, but she also gets to go back with them."
"If my husband showered me with endless money every day, let alone bringing a mistress on the plane, he could even make me serve her during her confinement."
"But I heard our Mrs. Valencia is quite wealthy, too, right?"
"Who knows? It's their business. We just need to focus on doing our job well."
After chatting and chattering, the flight attendants shifted their conversation to other topics.
Unbeknownst to them, Sarah, who had been pretending to be asleep all along, had overheard their entire conversation.
