Chapter 514 Antonio Was Trembling

The night had passed, and there was still no trace of Serene.
She seemed to have vanished into thin air.
James arrived to give a report, dragging his weary body along.
"Mr. Valencia, Mrs. Valencia, all the city's intersections and modes of transportation are under our surveillance, and indeed, there's no sign of Serene," he reported.
Sarah's brows were tightly knit. Serene must have caught wind of something, prompting her swift escape.
Antonio poured a cup of warm water for Sarah, but she shook her head, refusing to take it. Without insisting, Antonio set the cup down and asked with a heavy gaze, "Has Serene made contact with anyone from the SK Group?"
James shook his head, "She booked a flight once, but after being informed that her account was frozen, there has been no further contact."
"What about the servants at the Jerrett family home?"
"They said Serene left with a package, and when cleaning, they noticed some jewelry and valuables were missing. I sent people to check, but there's no evidence anyone went to pawn them."
Antonio furrowed his brows as he sat on the sofa.
With no transportation and no significant amount of money, where could Serene possibly go?
Hearing the conversation between the two, Sarah looked up at Antonio's grave expression and realized she had misunderstood him.
He had secretly cut off all possible financial resources for Serene early on and monitored every means she might use to contact the outside world.
She picked up the water cup from the table, took a sip, and said, "Here, she can only rely on the Jerrett family. If the SK Group can't provide any help, she'll be hard-pressed to escape."
Antonio's handsome brows were tightly knitted, and his eyes were exuding an inhuman chill, "It seems there's more to Serene than meets the eye. She has support behind her."
With that, Antonio stood up as an intimidating aura emanated from him, enough to send shivers down one's spine.
But when he turned his head towards Sarah, he saw her holding the cup of water he had poured, and the coldness around him instantly dissipated.
Feeling Antonio's gaze, Sarah put down the cup, her eyes still composed.
She commanded, "James, go home and bring the children back. Take them to Century Garden."
Upon hearing this, Antonio's heart raced with anxiety. He gripped Sarah's wrist tightly, "Sarah, why go to Century Garden? Isn't it better if we go home? Are you even keeping the children from me now?!"
Disdainfully shaking off his grip, Sarah replied, "If there's someone behind Serene helping her, then Century Garden is the safest place. Don't forget, it was right outside our home that the children were kidnapped."
That sobered Antonio up, "You're right, home isn't safe. Nobody besides us knows about Century Garden. Let's get back there immediately."
In his urgency, he began pulling Sarah towards their home, but she resisted, biting her teeth and holding him back, "Let James handle it; I need to take care of things at the hospital. My dad is still here, and I can't leave him."
"Right, I'll find a doctor and see if we can take Dad home to recuperate!"
With that, Antonio turned and exited the hospital room in search of a doctor.
Sarah watched his hurried departure with a touch of helplessness but did not stop him.
After all, she couldn't stop him.
The hospital wasn't very safe now either.
Two hours later, at the gates of Century Garden villa.
Antonio stood blankly before his own firmly closed room door, lost for words for a long while.
Harper was perched by the window, looking down at Antonio standing disheartened in front of the gate, and feeling a pang of sympathy.
"Mommy, are we really not letting Daddy come in?" She asked.
Ethan and Ryan could only stand aside, silently watching Sarah.
The children were unclear about what had happened; they just knew Mommy was still mad at Daddy.
But Daddy looked so pitiful...
Sarah didn't answer but instead emotionlessly instructed the servants to arrange everything for Kevin's room, giving her father the best south-facing room.
She also gathered many family doctors and caregivers to take turns caring for Kevin.
After arranging everything, she realized that the sky had darkened.
Outside, there remained no sound. Antonio did not shout or argue to come in as he usually would.
Everything was quiet and everything was as she wanted.
It would be good if he could come to understand that what they needed now was tranquility, a space where they could settle down and think about where to go from here.
Struggling against each other fiercely was truly pointless.
The next morning, Sarah got up early.
The children and her father were still resting, and the servants were preparing breakfast.
Sarah, having a rare moment of leisure, decided to stroll through the yard she hadn't visited in a while. She was just wandering in the yard without anything particular to do.
Upon stepping outside, she realized Antonio's car was still parked at the front door. Hadn't he gone back?
Sarah furrowed her brows. He couldn't have spent the whole night sitting in the car, could he? Really, what an act of self-pity for show.
As Sarah came closer, she found that there was actually no one in the car. A cloud of suspicion formed in her mind when suddenly, a slightly flustered voice behind her called out.
"Mrs. Valencia, perhaps you should check... Mr. Valencia, he’s been sleeping in my room. I was on the night shift, and I just found him when I got back this morning."
Sarah was left speechless.
Antonio, the formidable CEO, sleeping in a servant's room?! How scared must the servant have been?!
She soothed the servant and then walked towards the servant's quarters with a frown.
After pushing open the door, she indeed saw a tall figure lying on a narrow bed. She approached, intending to wake him up, but then she heard the man muttering—
"Sarah... Sarah, please don’t leave me..."
Sarah’s hand paused mid-air. She turned to the servant and said, "Ah, you might want to switch rooms for the next couple of days. If you need anything, go buy it. Charge it to my account."
The servant nodded and left.
Sarah's gaze returned to Antonio, debating whether to wake him with a punch or by pulling his ear. But before she could decide on either action, she noticed that Antonio was trembling.
