Chapter 129 Mommy Will Take You Away Right Now
Philip's face twitched like crazy, and he jabbed a shaky finger at Sarah. "You..."
Sarah had the nerve to stand up to him!
Who did she think she was? She deserved to be taken down!
But Sarah? She didn't give a damn. She shot Philip a death glare, then grabbed the kids' hands and said, "Let's bounce!"
No way she was letting anyone mess with them.
Sarah was beyond pissed, her face dark as a storm cloud, eyes locked straight ahead.
As she led the kids out of the ER, she heard sobbing from the side and turned to see Harper crying.
Sarah's anger melted into heartache. She squatted down and hugged Harper. "Harper, don't cry. Ignore what they say. Just remember, Mommy loves you the most. We did nothing wrong."
Harper cried even harder, her little face full of hurt and sadness. "I hate Philip so much."
Philip had not only hit Antonio before but almost went after Harper and Ethan too. Now he was cursing them and kicking them out.
Why were there such awful people in the world?
Harper just wanted the family to be together, was that so wrong? Why should they be yelled at?
Seeing Harper cry, Ethan quickly pulled out a tissue from his pocket and wiped her tears. "Harper, don't cry. Listen to Mommy, forget about those people. Mommy will take us away from here soon, right Mommy?"
"Yeah." Sarah nodded. She stroked Harper's head and said, "Harper, you saw their true colors today. Staying here will only bring more pain. Mommy's taking you away now, we're not going back to that house."
Ethan chimed in, "That place was never our home anyway."
Back in the hospital, Philip was so mad he had to be taken to rest.
Not long after, Ryan's condition stabilized, but he was still out cold.
Antonio stayed by the bedside, his brows furrowed with worry. He looked at Ryan's pale face, his eyes dark and troubled.
Suddenly, he heard a noise at the door and turned, frowning instinctively.
Lisa had just pushed the door open and met Antonio's eyes. Seeing his sour expression, she couldn't help but feel nervous.
But she still braced herself and walked in, lowering her eyes. "Antonio, I'm here to see Ryan."
Seeing that Antonio stayed silent, Lisa took it as a yes. She approached the bed, looked at Ryan, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"What made him suddenly get sick?" She wiped her tears and cupped Ryan's little face. "I haven't seen him for a while, and he looks even worse than before."
The once quiet hospital room was now filled with Lisa's sobbing. Antonio, hearing it, felt a headache coming on and furrowed his brows even tighter. He got up and walked to the window, looking outside.
Lisa noticed Antonio's expression and saw his displeasure but still gritted her teeth and kept going.
She cried out, "Ryan, Mommy misses you so much. Without you, I can't eat or sleep. I'm always worried you might miss Mommy, struggle without Mommy, or get hurt again. And now you really..."
Feeling like she had set the stage just right, Lisa cautiously looked at Antonio and said, "Antonio, you're always swamped with work. Let me take care of Ryan. He just got out of danger and needs someone to look after him. Can I take him home?"
Antonio glanced at Ryan lying on the bed, his eyes deep and unreadable. After a long pause, he simply nodded.
Seeing his agreement, Lisa's eyes lit up.
She had really thought she had lost Ryan as a bargaining chip, but unexpectedly, Ryan's incident had given her a new opportunity!
Now that Ryan was back by her side, she had to hold on tight and never lose this card again.
At that moment, Ryan slowly regained consciousness.
In his sleep, he had heard some sounds. He was very tired, but the noise kept lingering in his ears, making him restless.
When he opened his eyes, he saw the people around him. His pale face immediately showed surprise and a hint of fear.
Every time he had an episode before, Lisa would scold him because she said Antonio would take it out on her.
Seeing Lisa by the bed now, Ryan instinctively turned his eyes away, not daring to look at her. "Daddy."
Hearing the voice, Antonio quickly turned around and walked to the bedside. "Ryan, how do you feel? Are you still uncomfortable?"
Lisa, who was wiping her tears, immediately hugged Ryan's shoulders with joy. "Ryan, you're finally awake. You scared Mommy to death. Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
Ryan was frightened by Lisa's behavior, clutching the sheets with both hands, and weakly said, "I'm fine now."
Ignoring the odd look on Ryan's face, Lisa continued, "It's good to see you're okay. Now that you're awake, you'll come home with me later."
Upon hearing this, Ryan's eyes widened in shock, looking at Antonio, seemingly waiting for his confirmation.
Antonio nodded and said in a deep voice, "Remember to rest well when you get home."
With Antonio's words, Ryan, despite his resistance, couldn't say anything to refuse.
His expression darkened significantly, his lowered eyes filled with sadness and fear.
Lisa, however, was secretly pleased. She quickly put on a pained expression and said, "Antonio, you know how precious Ryan is to me. Don't worry, I'll take good care of him and won't let him get shocked again. Ryan is so young and has to suffer from this illness frequently. It must be so hard for him, and as his mother, I feel terrible too."
With tears in her eyes, Lisa looked at Antonio, her tone aggrieved and pleading, "Antonio, I heard that Ryan got sick because of that two kids. I want to seek justice for Ryan. Is that too much to ask? I don't think you'd stand by and watch Ryan suffer, would you?"
Hearing this, Antonio's lips tightened, growing more irritated. But seeing Ryan's haggard appearance...
After a brief silence, he turned to look out the window again, his voice low and seemingly hoarse. "I'll have them apologize to Ryan."
Lisa, having achieved her goal, was satisfied and showed a triumphant smile. 'Indeed, in Antonio's heart, Ryan is still the most important.'
As long as she had Ryan by her side, she would eventually make that bitch Sarah kneel down to her!
Lisa's eyes gleamed with malice, but she spoke in a pitiful and grateful tone, "I thank you on behalf of Ryan, Antonio."
