Chapter 844 The Awkward Encounter
Sarah looked at Cynthia's distressed expression and was on the verge of tears herself. "Cynthia, it's really not what you think. Please let me explain, okay? Antonio is no longer a Harrington. He..."
"I don't want to hear it!"
Did it matter if he was Harrington? What mattered was that he had Harold's blood running through his veins!
"Your mother suffered so much because of Harold, and now you're with the son of such a bastard!"
"Have you ever thought that genes can be inherited? What if he's a lunatic as well?"
"Sarah, you're really out of your mind!"
Sarah didn't expect Cynthia to lose control like this.
She carefully reached out to hold her hand. "Cynthia, please calm down and let me explain, okay?"
"What's there to explain?" Cynthia shook off her hand, glanced at her belly, seemed to want to say something but didn't, and finally just sighed heavily. "Get out. I don't want to see you or that Harrington anymore! Leave me alone."
Sarah wanted to say something, but Antonio walked in after finishing his phone call.
Seeing both of them with red eyes, he frowned with concern. "What's going on?"
Sarah was extremely frustrated!
She gave Antonio a look that signaled him to keep quiet.
Antonio remained silent.
Cynthia, who had just calmed down a bit, saw him and became even more furious. She shouted, "What are you doing here? Get out of my ward! You're not welcome here, you bastard!"
"Sarah?" Antonio was puzzled.
"You don't have the right to call her!" Cynthia, seeing that he wasn't leaving, got up from the bed and started throwing things at him. "Get out! Don't ever let me see you again. If I see you, I'll hit you!"
Antonio remained silent.
He was pushed out of the room without understanding what had happened.
Sarah had intended to stay and explain things to Cynthia once she calmed down, but Cynthia grabbed a broom and chased her out as well. "You leave too! I don't want to see anyone right now!"
The couple stood at the door, looking at each other helplessly.
"Sarah, what on earth is going on?" Antonio asked.
Weren't things fine before? How did it turn out like this after just one phone call?
Sarah sighed deeply. "Well, you might want to ask your dear father Harold about that."
But it wasn't Antonio's fault either.
She took Antonio's hand and started walking away. "Let's give Cynthia some time to calm down. We'll explain everything to her eventually."
On the way back, Sarah called Mary to share the good news.
After hanging up, she looked at her phone and sighed softly. "I wonder how Mary and Dr. Reed are doing. I hope their relationship goes smoothly."
"If you're worried, after you have the baby, we can visit Marshall City with Cynthia to thank them."
Mary had taken care of Cynthia at the rehab center.
Now that she had fully recovered, she must be eager to see Mary.
"Yeah." Sarah put away her phone, looking a bit wistful. "I hope Cynthia can clear up her misunderstanding about you soon."
If Cynthia knew that Antonio's mother was Carter and had also suffered a lot, she would definitely change her mind.
They didn't speak any further and returned to the villa.
Sarah saw two people in the middle of the road and asked, "Isn't that Francis and Mr. Diaz?"
On the road, Francis and Guadalupe had just come out. Guadalupe suddenly bent down. "You're a grown man, and you still can't fix your collar? Hmm?"
As he spoke, he reached for Francis's neck.
At that moment, Francis noticed the slowly approaching car in the distance. The people inside were Antonio and Sarah!
His eyes flickered with panic, and he quickly maneuvered his wheelchair to the side. "I can do it myself."
He then straightened his collar.
Just as he finished, the car stopped, and the people inside got out.
Guadalupe's expression darkened upon seeing them, and he stood up straight.
Antonio didn't notice his expression and looked at Francis. "Francis, are you going out?"
Francis's smile was a bit stiff. "Yeah, I have some errands to run."
"Do you need a ride?"
Although Antonio knew Francis held a grudge, he didn't want to assume the worst and instinctively wanted to be close to him.
Sarah glanced at him but said nothing.
She was already annoyed by what had happened with Cynthia and didn't feel like engaging in any more pleasantries. She stood silently to the side, waiting for them to decide so they could go home.
At that moment, a dark gaze fell upon her.
Guadalupe looked at her and couldn't help but think of the scarf from last night.
'Sarah really is a restless woman.' Guadalupe thought.
His eyes were cold, like a vortex, as if he wanted to suck Sarah in. He spoke with a hint of sarcasm. "Mr. Valencia has greeted his brother, but Ms. Miller, who has always lived here, doesn't seem to understand the etiquette?"
'Is he saying I didn't greet Francis and is being rude?' Sarah thought.
Sarah laughed in exasperation. "Mr. Diaz, are you talking to me?"
Antonio and Francis both turned their heads, a bit confused.
Guadalupe's eyes were unfathomable, still mysterious, but his voice was chilling. "Is there another Ms. Miller here?"
Sarah was speechless.
She sneered. "Mr. Diaz, you seem to be the one who doesn't understand the rules here. Our rule is that outsiders shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"
She was already in a bad mood today, and he just had to provoke her! Did he really think she wouldn't get angry?
In an instant, Guadalupe's eyes seemed to fill with icy shards, his loathing for Sarah spreading through his bones, and his hostility flaring up.
Francis felt the coldness emanating from Guadalupe and broke out in a cold sweat, forcing a smile to smooth things over. "Sarah, you two have had a long day. You should go home and rest."
Antonio gave Guadalupe a cold look, his voice indifferent but carrying a chill. "Mr. Diaz, you are busy too. You should take a good rest."
It was as if he was also telling him to mind his own business and get some sleep!
After speaking, he led Sarah into the villa, not giving Guadalupe a chance to respond.
Guadalupe watched the couple's backs, his eyes like erupting lava, his anger reaching its peak.
Francis exhaled and softly said, "Guadalupe, don't stoop to their level."
Guadalupe's jaw tightened, his burning gaze fixed on him.
After a moment, he sneered and got into the car.
Sarah was still fuming after they got home. Because of Guadalupe's actions, her impression of Francis worsened.
Guadalupe seemed both fierce and sinister. Was he back to help Francis deal with Antonio?
