Chapter 88 I Can Wait for Her to Get Divorced
James was floored when he saw the scene. Alex and Sarah actually knew each other?
"Mr. Valencia, that guy is..." James almost choked on his words.
He had just glanced at the rearview mirror and was instantly so freaked out he froze, swallowing hard.
Right then, Antonio swung open the car door and stepped out with his long legs. James got a bad vibe and quickly followed, jogging over to help with introductions. "Mr. Valencia, this is the head of BrianTech Solutions Inc..."
But Antonio wasn't even listening. With a cold stare and intense eyes locked on Alex and Sarah, he barked, "What's your relationship?"
Alex didn't get mad at Antonio's sudden question. Instead, he flashed a gentlemanly smile and calmly explained, "Hey, Mr. Valencia. Sarah and I met abroad. I'm her best friend and Harper's godfather."
Godfather? Not the biological dad?
Antonio was half-convinced, his eyes darting between Alex, Sarah, and Harper. "Really?"
Unexpectedly, Alex smiled and looked at Sarah with admiration, saying, "But I do see Sarah as someone I like. She's an amazing woman, a great mom, and the only one who's captured my heart. That's why I'm pursuing her."
Hearing this, Antonio's eyes narrowed dangerously. The next second, he wrapped his strong arm around Sarah and pulled her close, sneering, "Too bad, she's my wife."
His gut feeling was right; Alex had a thing for Sarah.
How bold!
As for Antonio's claim, Alex just smiled faintly. "No problem, I can wait for her to get divorced."
Antonio's face turned dark. For the first time, he felt like he had a serious rival.
With Alex's movements, the tie clip on his chest caught the sunlight, blinding Antonio. His gaze darkened, his eyes losing their light.
Throughout, Alex kept a gentle smile, speaking softly and carrying himself with class. Every move he made screamed good manners and sophistication.
He used the nicest tone to say the rudest things. James couldn't help but sigh inwardly; Antonio's rival in love was no ordinary guy!
Sarah sensed the tension. She looked at Antonio's grim face and Alex's faint smile, pursing her lips without saying a word. This was a silent showdown.
She picked up Harper and left the battlefield first, heading into the company building.
A few minutes later, Antonio and Alex sat across from each other in the meeting room.
Harper genuinely missed Alex, hugging and kissing him non-stop. Now, she clung to his side, and Sarah naturally sat next to Harper.
The situation suddenly felt like three against one, but luckily, behind Antonio stood the unassuming James, making sure he wasn't completely alone.
Antonio's face stayed tense as he scrutinized the three people across from him, piecing together all the past events.
First, BrianTech Solutions Inc. proposed a weird test, then Harper aced it. But in reality, their relationship was super close!
Was it just a coincidence?
BrianTech Solutions Inc. turned out to be Sarah's friend's company. Did Sarah really not know before today's meeting?
Antonio couldn't help but suspect that Sarah and Alex were plotting against him.
And Harper, and that Michael, and even that kid who had never shown up.
Harper noticed Antonio's intense gaze, and her little heart skipped a beat. Did he figure something out?
She quickly plastered on an innocent smile. "Wow! So the company Antonio's working with is Alex's? What a small world!"
But that only made Antonio scrutinize her more.
Harper, being just a kid, couldn't handle that kind of pressure.
Her smile froze, and her eyes widened.
Just then, a gentle voice came to her rescue.
"Mr. Valencia, Sarah doesn't know about my work abroad. We're just friends."
"Oh?" Antonio raised an eyebrow, giving Sarah a look that said he wasn't buying it.
Not knowing what your good friend does for a living?
Sarah caught Antonio's suspicious look, her delicate eyebrows knitting together, and a hint of annoyance flashed across her pretty face. She spread her hands, "Alex never talks about work with me. If you don't believe me, that's your problem."
With that, she grabbed Harper's little hand and started to leave. "Harper, since we're not trusted, let's go."
"I didn't say you could leave." Antonio stopped her, his eyes locked on Sarah, his lips pressed tight, and a complex look in his deep eyes.
If it weren't for the crucial deal with BrianTech Solutions Inc., he wouldn't have let this Alex guy into his company!
Harper sensed the tension, her worried little eyes darting between them, feeling torn.
She liked both Antonio and Alex and didn't want to see them fighting.
Plus, she wanted to help Antonio pass Brian's third level!
James also looked troubled. Even though he could only see the back of Antonio's head, he could imagine the grim look on his face.
The head of BrianTech Solutions Inc. turned out to be Antonio's rival in love!
This was more dramatic than a soap opera!
Antonio had to keep his cool and not let personal feelings mess up the important deal!
At that moment, Alex spoke with a faint smile, "I get Mr. Valencia's doubts. I can vouch for my words with my personal honor; everything I said is true."
Hearing this, Antonio glanced at Alex, still suspicious, but his expression softened a bit. After all, he was a seasoned businessman and the top decision-maker of the group. He quickly regained his composure, setting aside personal feelings and focusing on business.
During this, Harper became more and more restless. Her little face showed growing anxiety. She held it in for a while but finally leaned over to Sarah and whispered, "Mommy, I need to go to the restroom."
Seeing this, Sarah nodded and immediately took Harper to the restroom.
So, it was just Antonio and Alex left in the room, along with James, who was trying his best to blend into the background.
During the following discussions, they kept it professional, showing extreme professionalism.
Alex leaned back on the leather sofa, gently rubbing his gold signet ring, occasionally nodding slightly, his demeanor always calm, revealing no emotions.
Antonio also kept a close eye on Alex's reactions. Finally, he took the tablet James handed him and pushed it in front of Alex. "This is the contract we drafted. Mr. Harris, please review it. If there are no other issues, we can sign it anytime."
Alex glanced at the tablet but smiled faintly. "Mr. Valencia, please wait. My boss said you haven't passed the third level yet."
A deep look flashed in Antonio's eyes, "What do you mean? You're not the president?"
