Chapter 905 Getting Entangled with Someone Else So Quickly
The past pains resurfaced.
Antonio saw her gripping his hand tighter and tighter, like a drowning person clutching the only piece of driftwood, seeking a sliver of salvation.
His heart ached so much he could barely breathe.
"Sarah." The restrained and sorrowful call was especially clear in the night, "I'm sorry, I should have found you earlier. I should have been there to take care of you when you were pregnant with our three children. It's all my fault."
Sarah was immersed in her dream, unable to extricate herself.
Antonio was actually patient enough to listen to her.
He never knew the grievances she had suffered in the past.
"How could you know how sad I was? You know nothing. When you were with Lisa, I was so miserable I felt like dying."
"At first, I was so happy, wanting to share the good news of my pregnancy with you, but then I heard you and Lisa in our room... That's why I had the car accident."
"Later, I thought, since you had already fallen in love with Lisa, I would never like you again."
Sarah had never said these words before.
Even after they had bared their hearts to each other, she never mentioned the hardships of the past.
"Sarah." Listening to her cries and the words she said, Antonio felt like his heart was being torn apart.
He used to be such a jerk!
He was actually tricked by Lisa, misunderstood Sarah so much, and was separated from her for so many years!
"It's all my fault. I was stupid and got deceived by Lisa." Seeing her cry, Antonio couldn't control his own tears. He took a tissue from the side, carefully wiped her face, and softly coaxed, "I promise I will never do it again. I will never leave you and the kids again."
"I never loved Lisa. From beginning to end, it was only you."
"Please stop crying, okay? Just sleep, and everything will be better."
"I'm here with you. I will always be here."
Listening to his gentle words, Sarah seemed to be comforted and finally quieted down, her cheek lightly rubbing against his hand, "Don't go."
If this was a dream, then let her sink into it.
"I'm not going anywhere." Antonio half-lay on the edge of the hospital bed, holding Sarah in his arms with tenderness and affection. "I promise, except for death, nothing can separate us."
"When you get better, you can blame me all you want. You can hit me, scold me, okay?"
"When we find Eden, our family will never be apart again. We will watch them grow up together, and you can boss me around as much as you want to make up for the past."
His soft murmurs reached Sarah's ears, and she felt an endless grievance, her heart aching, "Okay, you have to keep your word."
"Okay, I love you." Antonio planted a deep kiss on her lips, "Be good, and get some sleep."
He was extremely patient, his soft coaxing lingering in her ears.
Sarah's sobs gradually weakened, and she finally calmed down and fell into a deep sleep.
She slept until the next morning, waking up to find the outside world bathed in bright daylight, with soft light spilling everywhere, making the air seem gentle.
Last night, it seemed she had a long dream.
Sarah raised her hand to pinch her head, feeling a headache just thinking about Antonio's name, like a conditioned reflex she couldn't avoid.
But in her dream last night, he was so gentle.
Was it because she hadn't experienced Antonio's gentleness for so long that her dream was compensating for it?
Antonio's soft-spoken words seemed to still linger in her ears, saying with deep affection that he only loved her and would always be by her and the children's side.
But, how could that be?
Sarah's lips curled into a self-mocking and bitter smile.
She had once heard Antonio say with her own ears that the person he loved most was Lisa, and he even hurt their children for Lisa.
She no longer wanted any entanglement with Antonio.
Suppressing the hollow pain in her heart, Sarah got out of bed, intending to go outside for a walk to distract herself.
Somehow, her mind had been in a mess these past two days, with various images flashing through it from time to time, some of which seemed to have never happened.
It felt like reality and dreams were intertwined, making every nerve in her body jump.
This was the largest hospital in the entire Northwest Ridge, with excellent environment and facilities. But due to the geographical environment, whenever there was dust, the whole sky would be a hazy gray, extending indefinitely into the distance.
Sarah walked casually to the back garden, smiling and nodding at familiar nurses.
Suddenly, the smile on her lips froze.
Not far away, Antonio was standing opposite another woman, wearing a casual suit, looking softer than his usual calm and sharp demeanor.
Whatever they were talking about, his expression even carried a hint of pleading.
The woman shook her head, her lips moving as if refusing something.
In such a short time here, he had already hooked up with another woman. Wasn't he afraid of being discovered by Lisa?
Or to Antonio, as long as it wasn't her, anyone else would do?
Sarah's breathing suddenly became rapid, the memories she had deliberately suppressed resurfacing, attacking the weakest part of her heart.
Why could Antonio be so cruel to her, yet so gentle with other women?
She stared at the glaring scene, the veins on her temples throbbing wildly, before turning abruptly and striding away.
Antonio, his mind full of Eden, naturally didn't notice her presence. He looked sincerely at the woman in front of him and said, "Ms. Foster, please take care of my daughter."
They had been discussing Eden's situation.
It had been a week, and they still hadn't found any valuable information.
Autumn's detective agency had the most sophisticated investigation system in the Northwest Ridge area. With their help, they would surely get news of Eden soon.
Autumn nodded and smiled, "Don't worry, Mr. Valencia. I'll immediately assign more people to continue the search."
"Thank you." Antonio, feeling overwhelmed, thought about how Eden had been missing for so many days, not knowing how she was doing, and his mood grew heavier.
"If you can help me find her, you can ask for any amount of investment. I just want to find Eden."
Of course, Sarah didn't hear these words. She went straight back to her ward, her mind constantly replaying the earlier scene, feeling both angry and annoyed.
Didn't he say he came to find her?
But just the next day, he was already entangled with another woman. What a complete jerk!
