Chapter 653 Are They Dating?
Sure enough, it didn't take long for Harold to call.
He seemed very concerned about Benjamin's health and said, "I just remembered that I happen to know a specialist in the Capital city. Would you like me to ask him to take a look at you?"
Benjamin, expressionless, replied, "No, thanks, Dad."
"If you feel unwell, let me know at anytime." Harold said, finally getting to the point. "Why is it so quiet in your ward? Isn't Isabella there?"
His smile was ambiguous, one couldn't tell if it was ironic or something more. He replied in a monotone voice, "She has just stepped out on some business. She should be back soon."
"Okay, then you take care of yourself and rest well."
"Same to you, Dad."
After hanging up, Benjamin stared at his phone for a while. He didn't know when his relationship with the only person he trusted and respected, Harold, had become so superficial.
Just then, his phone suddenly buzzed several times. His deep eyes flickered as he swiped the screen to check.
Benjamin wasn't a fool. Ever since he discovered the chip Harold had implanted in him, he had immediately arranged for someone to keep an eye on his father.
They sent photos of Harold back every day.
As Benjamin scrolled through the photos on his phone, he suddenly noticed a new face beside him.
The man was wearing a mask, revealing only the upper half of his face.

Benjamin's eyes lit up, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
But no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't recall who he was.
He had no choice but to turn off his phone in frustration.
Meanwhile, downstairs at the hospital, Sarah was pulling Brian along, walking out without looking back.
"Mommy, why did you stop me?" Brian was very angry, standing there with his arms crossed. "He talked to you like that, how can I not teach him a lesson?"
"Brian," Sarah said helplessly. "We will have no further contact with him, so why bother?"
Brian fell silent, but he was determined to teach Benjamin a lesson.
The evidence he had collected was ready to be released.
Thinking of this, he took out his phone and called Alex, ready to have him execute the plan immediately.
But the phone rang countless times, and Alex didn't answer.
"What's wrong with him?"

"Mommy, you go home and rest. I'll go to Alex's home to see what's going on with him."
He had never failed to answer his calls before.
"Are you going to find Alex?" Sarah glanced at the time.
She had originally planned to spend the night with Sofia, crossing the midnight hour together since tomorrow was Sofia's birthday.
Sarah had even thought about trying to bring Alex and Sofia closer tomorrow.
But now Alex became unreachable.
Something was wrong.
She pondered for a moment and said, "I'll go with you. I have something to discuss with him anyway."
Brian didn't say anything more and got into the car with her.
When they arrived at Alex's house, they rang the doorbell for a long time, but no one answered. Sarah was also puzzled. "Could something have happened to him?"
Brian hesitated only for a moment before making his decision. "Mommy, we should go in and check."
He knew the password to Alex's door and entered it while saying, "If something really happened to him, we need to figure out what to do."
They had no other choice.
When they opened the door, the living room was dark, and no one was there.
However, the room was decorated meticulously for a birthday, with balloons, twinkling lights, and roses that were fragrant but nearly wilted, making the whole place look beautiful and romantic.
Sarah was at a loss for words. She didn't know if Alex had prepared this before or after his argument with Sofia in H City.
But she could tell that Alex was genuinely upset. Otherwise, why would he leave everything here without cleaning up?
Alex must have sincerely hoped that the recipient of the birthday surprise, Sofia, would show up on time.
What had happened between him and Sofia?
Brian leaned against the sofa, his face not looking good. "Mommy, where do you think he could have gone?"
"Maybe he just wanted to have a rest."
Sarah didn't know how to explain adult matters to a kid.
He had been hurt emotionally and didn't want to face the scene in this room, so it was understandable not to stay at home.
But this also showed that he cared about Sofia.
The more Sarah thought about it, the more she felt that the problem needed to be resolved by the people involved. She quickly took out her phone and called Sofia. As soon as the call was connected, she urgently said, "Sofia, I'm at Alex's home right now. Come over quickly!"
Sofia asked, "What's going on?"
"Oh, just come over first, and I'll explain!"
Sarah quickly hung up the phone, afraid that Sofia would figure something out and refuse to come.
Brian looked at the room full of flowers and balloons and then thought about what Sarah had said on the phone. He asked in confusion, "So, Sofia and Alex are dating?"
"Yes."
Sarah nodded and then whispered.
"But they're quarrelling now, so Mommy needs to find a way to help them sort it out. Brian, could you help me later?"
