Chapter 766 Holding Her in His Arms!

Just in case anything went down, Harold had someone keep tabs on Sarah's family.

He'd already snagged a place in the Capital city, planning to settle there for good.

To Harold, Sarah was history, and Kevin was a lost cause, which meant the Capital city was his for the taking.

It was super late when his guy finally called and said, "Mr. Harrington, Sarah's really gone. Her house is dead quiet every day, and the kids are all silent. Looks like they don't want anyone to know just yet. The Valencia Group and The Jerrett Group are a mess right now. Shareholders are pushing Kevin to take charge again, but he's still drowning in grief and isn't stepping up."

Harold laughed, "Kevin's sick too, right? How's he gonna step up?"

Drowning in grief?

Compared to what he went through, this was nothing.

"Kevin's illness flared up again. Our people saw a private doctor going in and out of his place."

Harold couldn't help but laugh out loud.

'Perfect! With Sarah gone and Kevin in bad shape, stuck with the kids, there's no way he can handle the company. This is the perfect time to take over both companies,' Harold thought.

His plan was finally coming together.

"Get ready, tomorrow..." Before he could finish, a tall figure showed up at the door.

Harold frowned, "I'll give you the details tomorrow."

He quickly hung up the phone.

"Dad, something good happen? You seem pretty happy." Antonio walked in and sat across from him, telling the servant to make him some coffee.

Seeing him like this made Harold a bit uneasy. He forced a smile.

Harold looked away, "It's about the company. We have a big project coming up."

"Really?" Antonio raised an eyebrow, "That's great news. It means our company's reputation in the Capital city is growing."

Harold studied him, trying to see if there was any emotion beyond calmness.

'Isabella should've told him about Sarah, right? He doesn't seem to care at all. Or maybe she didn't tell him? Maybe she's afraid of hurting him?' Harold wondered.

Antonio ignored Harold's scrutiny, took a sip of coffee, and then suddenly remembered, "Oh, Dad, I came to tell you something else. There was heavy rain in Marshall City a few days ago, and mom's grave got washed away."

"What?"

Harold faked shock, a bit too dramatically for Antonio.

He pretended to be heartbroken, pacing anxiously, "Oh no, what do we do? That was the best cemetery in Marshall City that I picked. How could it get washed away by the rain? They're all frauds! No, I have to move your mother's grave!"

He furrowed his brows, looking worried.

But Antonio knew all these reactions were fake.

No one knew better than Harold that the grave was just filled with dirt; Carter's ashes weren't in there at all!

Therefore, he didn't care if the grave was washed away or not. It didn't matter to him at all!

But now, in front of Benjamin, Harold had to put on a good show, not letting him sense anything unusual.

Antonio's eyes, under the light, seemed like a bottomless vortex, drawing in everything around him. He stared at Harold for a bit before finally saying, "I agree."

He comforted Harold a little more and then left, saying he had work to do at the company.

Harold didn't expect Antonio to show up again before dawn the next day!

"Dad, I got you a first-class ticket to Marshall City. The flight leaves in two hours. Since you're so worried, you should go see it yourself. Get ready, my driver will take you to the airport."

Hearing that, Harold was momentarily speechless, caught off guard by Antonio's sudden decisiveness.

"Isn't this a bit too rushed?"

Antonio sighed, "Didn't you say yesterday you wanted to go right away? I thought you'd be really anxious since my mom's grave got washed away."

"Of course, I'm anxious!" Harold was fuming inside but had to act all touched, gritting his teeth, "Thanks, Benjamin."

Still in his pajamas, he was about to head upstairs when he turned back, asking, "Aren't you coming with me?"

Antonio frowned, hesitated for a moment, then shook his head, "I'll visit her alone next time. I really don't have time now. The Valencia Group and The Jerrett Group are in chaos. I need to stay and handle things."

Hearing that, Harold found Benjamin utterly clueless, who wasn't even aware that Sarah was dead.

He was also curious if Benjamin cared about Sarah at all.

What would his reaction be if he knew she was dead?

"Alright then." Harold's eyes gleamed, "I'll go to Marshall City to handle the grave matter. Just don't get so wrapped up in work that you forget to take care of yourself."

He couldn't help but smile with satisfaction.

After all, his big revenge was done, and there was nothing in the Capital city worth worrying about.

Antonio took it all in, nodding, "Okay, thanks, Dad."

He saw Harold off and then called his assistant, "I'll be flying to Marshall City in three hours. Pick me up and take me to the airport."

Meanwhile, Sarah had no idea Antonio had already arranged his journey to Marshall City. Her focus was entirely on Cynthia, who was scheduled for surgery that morning.

Therefore, Sarah got to the hospital early.

"Let's get Cynthia changed first! She can go in soon."

Mary also came to help, holding the surgical gown for Cynthia.

"Okay." Sarah quickly pulled the curtain.

Because Cynthia was having surgery, she was super anxious and nervous.

Thankfully, Mary was there to chat and distract her.

After changing Cynthia's clothes, Mary turned to comfort her softly, "It's okay. Cynthia's surgery will be successful. We have to believe in her and Dr. Reed."

Sarah's hands were cold. "Yes, you're right."

She did believe it. But she still couldn't control her nervousness.

Soon, the nurse came to remind them it was time for Cynthia to go into the operating room. Sarah held Cynthia's hand, encouraging her, "Don't be afraid, Cynthia. Just take a nap, and it'll be over."

After Cynthia went into the operating room, she started pacing anxiously.

Waiting was always the hardest part.

To distract herself, Sarah took out her phone and sent Antonio several messages, hoping for a reply that would alleviate her worry.

But Antonio didn't reply to any of them!

She stomped her foot in frustration, "What's Antonio doing? Doesn't he know..."

Before she could finish her sentence, "Paul"'s face suddenly appeared in her sight. He walked over quickly and hugged her tightly!
