Chapter 977 Shameful Matters

Una's voice was drowned out by the blaring of a car horn in the distance.

Just then, another car pulled up nearby. Francis stepped out and immediately saw the chaotic scene, rushing over to lend a hand.

He glanced at his assistant. "Turn the car around!"

Francis hurried over, frowning as he stood in front of Sarah. He turned to Antonio and said urgently, "Antonio, let's head back for now. There's no point in dragging this out!"

Seeing Una's demeanor, it was clear she was plotting a trick.

"Alright, Sarah, let's go!"

Sarah was so overwhelmed that her mind went blank. Antonio had to practically drag her into the car.

James and his team held off the Morrison Family's bodyguards while Francis directed his assistant to drive away quickly, leaving the crowd behind.

Antonio watched in the rearview mirror as James and his team made their escape. Once they were safely in the car, he rubbed his aching forehead.

"They were prepared! They even had fake paternity tests for Nia and the Morrison Family."

Una's attitude left no room for negotiation.

"So... what do we do now?"

Sarah wiped her face with her hands, trying to pull herself together. "With Bob not around, we can't forcibly take Nia. Our only option is to go through the legal system."

"Exactly."

Antonio squeezed her hand gently. "Eden is our daughter, and that's an undeniable fact. We'll sue and request a new judicial test."

Francis turned from the front seat to look at them. "Right. Stay calm. We have the upper hand here, and we won't lose in court. Don't worry."

"Okay..."

Sarah took a deep breath to push down her anxiety.

"We were too impulsive today. Let's go back, find a lawyer, and plan our next steps systematically."

Antonio looked at her determined face and couldn't help but kiss her. "Alright, we'll contact the legal team as soon as we get back and gather evidence to sue the Morrison Family."

Seeing that they had calmed down, Francis instructed the driver to head back to the Valencia Villa.

The Valencia Group's legal team arrived quickly, and they discussed the details thoroughly.

Afterward, Francis checked the time.

"Since everything is settled, I'll head out. Call me if you need anything."

Sarah stood up as well. "Francis, won't you stay for dinner?"

It was almost dinner time.

"No, thanks."

A different face flashed through Francis's mind. "Maybe next time. I need to get home today."

Sarah guessed he wanted to have dinner with Isabella and didn't press further. "Alright, drive safely."

"Will do. I'll let Ryan know I'm leaving."

Francis went upstairs to talk to Ryan for a bit before leaving the Valencia Villa.

He had promised Isabella he'd cook dinner tonight. He wondered if she was home yet.

Isabella remembered his promise and left work on time for once.

As Isabella packed up her things and left the office, two women in the office area watched her with disdain.

"Did you see that? Acting all high and mighty," one of them sneered.

The other woman, packing her bag, added with a hint of sarcasm, "She used to be rich, so it's no surprise."

"She used to be with the Harrington Group, right? Always looking down on us and bossing us around. Who does she think she is?!"

They had recently learned that Isabella was once the adopted daughter of the Harrington Family, but after the family fell apart, so did she.

So what if she was rich?

She still had to work at the Valencia Group!

"Maybe she's just used to being rich and looks down on us."

"Her? Let's see how she's doing now!"

The two women exchanged a look and quickly followed her.

Luckily, the elevator had just gone down, and they spotted Isabella not far away.

"There she is!"

"Keep it down!"

They followed her sneakily, but Isabella didn't notice.

She was about to head upstairs, but remembered Everett mentioning cooking dinner. She decided to ask if he needed groceries.

As she turned the corner to the flower shop, she noticed two people hiding nearby. "Clea, Della, what are you doing here?"

Clea and Della exchanged a look and coughed awkwardly.

They decided to drop the act and walked over.

"What... is this your street, Ms. Moore? Only you can walk here?" Clea said, raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe it is. Ms. Moore used to be with the Harrington Family. Maybe they built this street," Della added, her chin raised like a pretentious parrot.

"It sounds a pity."

"Now, Ms. Moore has nothing to do with the Harringtons. She's just a small manager at the Valencia Group, living like the rest of us."

Their mocking tone made Isabella frown.

These two individuals didn't report to her, but they worked in the same area and had some interaction.

She wasn't very friendly with people she didn't know well, so...

Were they crazy?

Isabella's face turned cold. "If you're here to pick a fight, don't bother. I'm not interested. Please leave."

She never felt ashamed of her time with the Harrington Family and didn't see a need to hide it, so it wasn't surprising that others found out.

She didn't want to waste words on them.

Seeing her about to leave, Clea quickly blocked her.

Her eyes fell on the keys in Isabella's hand. "Do you live above this flower shop?"

"What's it to you?"

"Nothing, just concerned about my colleague."

"Exactly," Della chimed in. "Why so tense, Ms. Moore? Did the Harringtons kick you out, and now you're doing something shady for a place to stay?"

Clea pretended to cover her mouth. "Ms. Moore wouldn't be trying to seduce the flower shop owner, would she?"

Isabella's grip on her keys tightened. "Watch your mouth!"

Before she could say more, a large hand suddenly wrapped around her waist.
