Chapter 94 Divorce? Absolutely Not
Seeing Sarah storming his way, Antonio's face twisted in confusion.
Before he could even get a word out, Sarah was in his face, yelling, "Antonio, how dare you treat Harper like that!"
Sarah was on fire, her eyes practically shooting daggers. "I told you to leave Harper alone. Hurt her, and you'll regret it!"
She'd put up with his crap before, but messing with Harper? No way. Her kids were her world, and she'd go to war for them.
Antonio tried to explain, "I..."
But Sarah cut him off, "I'm not letting this slide. Harper's my daughter. I can't even bring myself to scold her, so who the hell are you to be harsh with her? Who do you think you are!"
So what if Antonio was the biological dad? A jerk who only knew how to hurt people didn't deserve that title.
Sarah's words were like gasoline on a fire. Antonio's face darkened, and he snapped, "Ryan climbed a tree for Harper. That's dangerous. I can't let Ryan get hurt. His health..."
"Ryan's precious, but Harper isn't?" Sarah shot back. "You're worried about Ryan, so you can just yell at Harper? Antonio, have some shame! If you care about Ryan, then why are you still bothering me? Sign the divorce papers and let Harper and me go!"
"Divorce" was like a red rag to a bull. Antonio's eyes blazed as he stepped closer, glaring down at Sarah. "Divorce? No way!"
Sarah didn't back down. Instead, she smirked. "Antonio, are you serious? You want to have it both ways, raising Ryan with Lisa and Harper with me?"
Antonio's face got even darker.
When did she get so sharp?
Sarah's smirk deepened. "What, did I hit a nerve? But let me tell you, I'm not as dirty as you. Sign the papers, and we can all move on!"
"I've said it before. I ain't divorcing." Antonio was fuming, his eyes practically glowing red.
He grabbed Sarah's wrist, his grip tight. "Sarah, you think provoking me will make me let you go? I've seen through your tricks!"
Sarah winced, trying to pull free. "Bastard, let go! I warned you not to touch me."
Antonio just sneered, ignoring her struggle and leaning in closer. "You're so against my touch, is it because of your lover? But remember, you were mine first. Your lover only got my leftovers."
Sarah felt like she'd been punched in the gut. She stopped struggling, staring at Antonio in disbelief.
Antonio, satisfied with her reaction, leaned in even closer, his eyes cold. "Sarah, don't think about taking Harper away. I will never divorce you."
Sarah bit her lip, feeling a chill that had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with Antonio's cold words.
The man she once loved was a shameless, despicable jerk.
He insulted her and Harper, leaving her furious and hurt.
With all her strength, Sarah broke free and slapped Antonio hard.
Antonio's cheek stung. When he turned back, all he saw was Sarah's furious back as she walked away.
That slap snapped him out of it, dousing his anger with a hint of regret.
He'd messed things up again.
He wanted to apologize to Harper, but his anger at Sarah for always defending Harper held him back.
He used to like Harper, but she wasn't his daughter. He was jealous and angry, hating how much Sarah cared about a child fathered by another man.
